《MY Life In The Multiverse》Chapter 22: 'Discovering' their identity

As Yuki was lying unconscious on the floor in front of the door of his room completely motionless. The situation outside on the corridor was a whole different story as Emilia confronted Ashiya who almost killed him with her hand on her hips and ready to use her remaining holy powers at any moment to eradicate him even if this means she can't go back to Ente Isla …
Ashiya had a startled look on his face after he heard something hitting the door before it appeared to have fallen to the floor. but then he heard what Emilia said to him so responded with a haughty look on his face "Hero Emilia, are you in collaboration with this evil spirit? I never thought you would stoop so low just to defeat me and my lord"
"You idiot, I really can't believe you used to be feared as a great strategist" Emilia let out a long helpless sight when she understood that the idiot in front of her was using his power because he misunderstood the situation... the same way she did the first time she saw Yuki, but this thought was deleted by her ego...
"What evil spirit? are you trying to justify your evil actions you filthy demon?" Said Emilia as she approached him with a helpless look and said "That kid must have fainted when you unleashed your killing intent on him so he's clearly a normal human, hopefully, he didn't hurt himself badly…"
"Wait, you mean that sound wasn't him dropping my knife and fleeing the apartment from the back window!" Ashiya was astonished as it never crossed his mind that he was simply dealing with a normal human, nor did it came to him that it's possible that Yuki has just fallen unconscious while carrying a knife which is a recipe for a stabby disater …
"K-K-Knife? Alciel, are you s-s-serious?" Emilia's hand that was on the handle of the door about to open the room suddenly froze at the thought of instead of finding a boy that looks like a corpse, she might really find a corpse and end up getting in trouble with the authorities of this world…
"I-I-I'm innocent I didn't do anything, I was never here, goodbye" Muttered Alciel as he dissolved the magic ball he was still holding in his hand and tried to make a run for it but Emilia grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back as she said "You better take responsibility for once in your life you stupid demon, there's nowhere to run with me as a witness so you better open the room and check on the kid before I use your head to open this door, or maybe you want me to tell Maou about how you tried to kill your neighbor" at the end of her sentence, Emilia had an evil smile on her face that creeped Ashiya out…

'Just who's the demon here...' thought Ashiya nervously before he replied "Y-Y-You! F-f-fine…" Ashiya again put on his devoted face as he instantly changed affiliations from evil to good and started praying to a higher power for the safety of his 'dear' neighbor who he almost killed for a misunderstanding…
'What the hell, am I imagining things? Why do I feel this light emanating from this asshole, did he become a priest all of a sudden?' Emilia was confused by what was going on, but there were other matters to deal with right now so she watched as Ashiya slowly turned the knob of the door and he found it locked so he turned to Emilia with a regretful look on his face and let out a long sigh as he said "It's unfortunate, but the door is locked, maybe he doesn't want to be bothered, let's visit him another time"
Emilia couldn't believe how shameless this guy was even for a demon… 'What not wanting to be bothered you bastard he clearly either fainted or dea...' Thought Emilia who was not going to allow him any excuses so she said "Use your magic to unlock the door, you seemed to have plenty of it just now to blast this kid along with the whole rooù"
Seeing that he had nowhere to run, Ashiya finally resigned to his fate and used his magic to open the lock and slowly turned the knob of the door and started to slowly open it while swallowing his saliva repeatedly with a nervous look on his face
When the door was fully opened and they saw the boy lying unconscious face-first on the hard floor with a knife sitting on the floor right beside his neck, Ashiya's heart almost leaped out of his chest… 'That was a close call' Thought Ashiya as he looked at what almost appeared as a crime scene if the knife fell a few cm in the wrong direction.
Meanwhile, Emilia immediately rushed to Yuki's side and started checking his condition to confirm that everything was okay and she was only relieved when she found that he was still breathing and only seemed to have lost consciousness.
Then she lifted him and turned him on his back and noticed that he had a bruise on his forehead 'It seems this is the source of the sound that startled Ashiya, he probably ended up smashing his head on the door when he lost consciousness, poor kid...'
Understanding that this was all Ashiya's fault, she turned around to look at him and noticed that he was looking at the unconscious kid with a guilty look while caressing the ladle he was carrying and was planning to cause a bigger bruise on his head with it... so she angrily yelled at him "Go get the first aid kit from your room so we can treat him"
"Yes mam" said Ashiya while thanking the lord that his prayers were answered and the kid was still alive while Emilia was surprised as the kid she was holding in her arms seemed to be frowning before he suddenly muttered "Thank you, my hero..."

Emilia was astonished when she heard this and couldn't help but think 'Huh? is he awake? What's going on, does this kid know my true identity?' she confirmed that he was still unconscious so she decided to ask him about it when he wakes up. After all, she can't expose her identity easily…
What Emilia didn't know is that Yuki indeed knew her true identity, but the real reason he muttered those words was because while she was holding him in her arms, he was actually having a dream about a beautiful heroine with long red hair wearing a majestic armor and wielding a sacred sword saving his life from the clutches of an evil demon that had a piece of paper with Ashiya's face drawn on it and glued to the demon's head… and in the end, the heroine was carrying him like a princess away from the body of the defeated demon… 'WAIT WHAT?'
Yuki suddenly woke up to find himself laying on his futon but he didn't open his eyes right away as he could hear two people talking so he decided to listen to what they were saying and maybe gather some information...
He could hear that Emilia was lecturing Ashiya with an angry voice but was trying to keep her voice down so that she doesn't wake him up and if he actually opened his eyes, he would have seen that hypocrite Ashiya taking it all in while putting a guilty puppy face "What were you thinking, using that so publicly, and weren't you guys supposed to have exhausted all your reserves?"
'Wait what? What did Ashiya use? Don't tell me! I really fell unconscious because he tried to kill me! This bastards, I really dodged a bullet… but I still have 4 more to dodge coming at me all at once so I better not raise my hopes up...I probably exhausted all my luck with this one... Damn you Ashiya'
Ashiya's eyes started darting all over the place as he nervously replied "ha ha well of course we won't tell you the truth, don't forget we are demons" hearing what he said, Emilia's eyes narrowed in thought 'As I expected, these guys are really hiding their true power, good things I didn't use the sacred power I have left recklessly otherwise I might really end up stuck in this world even if I manage to defeat them!'
Meanwhile, Ashiya was laughing like a villain in his mind 'Mowahahahah, Dumbmilia, you will never find out that I actually didn't have any mana left and only recovered some of my power from this guy's negative emotions hahahaha- wait a sec' reaching this point, Ashiya realized that he was missing a very important point
'If this guy is a normal human, why did he have all that negativity emanating from him to the point that it almost covered the whole building' Ashiya suddenly found himself confused by what happened earlier, and Emilia noticed this so she asked him "Why did you try to attack this kid in the first place, did he do something to you?"
Ashiya didn't know what to respond so he scratched the back of his head embarrassedly and decided to hell the truth "You see, I thought he was a vengeful spirit and was trying to curse me and my lord, and today I sensed a very strong negativity emanating from him so I thought he finally decided to use his curse, but I never thought we will end up in this situation"
Emilia started replying with a helpless look on her face "I don't know how someone like you is a de-" but she was suddenly interrupted by a yell from Yuki as he finally couldn't hold himself back anymore and keep pretending that he was asleep and couldn't bear this bastard calling him a vengeful spirit...
So, he sprung up from his lying position and held Ashiya by the collar and started shaking him violently with a motion that showed he had great talents to be a bartender as he said "YOU BASTARD ALMOST KILLED ME JUST BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID REASON?"
'What the hell is wrong with his logic, couldn't he just try to talk to me and ask what's wrong with me if he noticed all that negativity? this guy is really the type that is too stupid to live, too dumb to die, and I'm stuck with him as my neighbor…' Yuki really felt like going crazy thinking about this...
Meanwhile, Emilia and Ashiya exchanged a horrified look and thought at the same time 'How long was this kid awake?'
So, Emilia eventually held me back from Ashiya and asked me nervously, "Y-Yuki-kun what else did you hear?"
Yuki did his best to calm down and started taking deep breaths while still shooting Ashiya an angry look before he said "I was having a nice dream of a beauty saving me from the clutches of an evil demon, but who would have thought that that dream would come true"
'I see, so that muttering earlier was because he was dreaming...' Emilia recalled what I said when she picked me up to check my condition...
"It seems we really messed up hero Emilia" Said Ashiya as he looked at the sunken green eyes of the boy that were swirling eerily, and both he and Emilia could sense a certain craziness and wildness inside of them!
The normal ghost was truly turning into a vengeful one...
