《Creating a world can't be that difficult, right?》Chapter 137

After arriving at the Lumite Academy, they asked a few questions here and there, so they would find out how to rent a laboratory.
Because, at the moment, the number of members of the branch was lower than the original population of the academy, the usage of the laboratories wasn't very high, which caused the renting price to also be lower.
As a result, they only needed to pay three energy coins each to gain access to the laboratory. Back at Eden's academy, if they wanted to rent a laboratory like this, they would have to pay ten energy coins each, assuming they could even get one at all, as there weren't many of them and there were a lot of demand.
As soon as they filled out the necessary paperwork and got the keys, they went to get the beast's corpse and went to the laboratory. During the process of transporting the corpse, they couldn't help but be seen by many of their academy companions.
Thankfully, bringing back the corpses of magical beasts to study or take from them useful materials was a common practice in the academy. They didn't need to give explanations, apart from why they had kept the body in their room.
When they got to the laboratory, they found a room covered in white tiles. In the middle of the room was a white table, while at the back of the room were four shelves filled with various materials and gadgets that could be useful during the experiments.
The three carried the corpse to the table before looking at each other.
"We are here. We have a laboratory. What now?" Travis asked.
"Well, I suggest we inspect the corpse to find the origin of its extraordinary firepower. Once we know why this specimen had that power, we try to replicate it, and if we succeed, we implement it into our techniques." Nathan replied.

"Please, don't put it like that. It sounds too simple." Marianne said while laughing.
"I think it is pretty simple. After all, it is pretty obvious what this magical beast has that makes it special." Nathan replied.
"Is it?" Travis asked while arching his eyebrow.
"Do you mean the symbol on its shell, right?" Marianne asked.
"That's right. The turtle absorbed the corruption around it with its shell, and the area around the symbol was the one that shone the most, so I bet it had something to do with that laser ray." Nathan said.
"Well, it makes sense," Travis replied while rubbing his chin.
"I would start dismembering the corpse so we can inspect each body part to confirm there isn't anything we're overlooking. If there isn't, I would start experimenting with the shell to find out how it works." Nathan suggested.
After saying those words, the three started to work on the corpse simultaneously. They broke the lower part of the shell carefully to separate the flesh from it.
Thanks to the various mana-steel tools in the laboratory, the dismembring work became much easier than it should be, and in just an hour, they had already finished their work.
"Well, we can confirm that what we are looking for is on the shell," Nathan said while laughing as he looked over a pile of turtle meat.
"The most important fact we have learned by doing this is that the turtle's flesh didn't have any corruption. For a creature that uses corrupted attacks, it made no sense that it wasn't corrupted even a little."Marianne pointed.
"I guess we'll find out about those unknowns sooner or later," Travis said as he examined the shell.
Before starting to work with it, they spent a little time writing down their findings, as well as a few drawings of the shell and the symbol.

They then began experimenting with the shell. The first thing they tried was to infuse energy into it. The shell didn't accept any energy at first, but when they started doing it on the symbol, it began to shine brightly as it absorbed the energy around it.
Even after stopping infusing energy into it, the symbol continued absorbing the one in its surroundings until it suddenly stopped.
"What is happening?" Nathan asked without knowing what to do.
Carefully, he extended his hand toward the shell and, once again, infused some energy into it.
But this time, it was different.
Instead of absorbing more energy, the symbol violently released all the energy inside it.

The Long and Exciting Life of Kreet the Kobold (Life 1)
This is a coming-of age story of a kobold, set in a rather generic D&D universe. It is adult in that it certainly touches upon some sexuality, but it is far, far from anything that might be considered porn. It is ultimately a tragedy, but so is life. That doesn't mean it has to end badly, just that it has to end.

Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde.
