《10k Years Silent Cultivation》GChK

Gary confiscated the lands of the Silvertree. This was expected. What was not expected was what he did next.
Caleb led Angela, in red, and Koba, in black, into Gary’s throne room. He was in need of new talent. Gary was not using Talesser’s throne, as it was a gilded chair ona a raised floating platform sitting atop the tower, and he thought that was stupid, and was in the process of melting it all down, and repurposing it. The top of a mage tower has better uses. Like the giant rune stone Gary was erecting.
Gary is ruling from a dimly lit office.
Angela walks into the office of the mage-king. He was a strange new mage king. Eccentric, and eccentric. The tower was quiet, and practically dead. There were no servants, slaves, beasts, visiting nobles, wandering spirits…etc. Mage towers are typically dominated by their ruler, and quite active. Rulers do not always do stuff, so when they don't they sometimes let others do stuff for favors.
The mage-king was entertaining no one. The nobles that had actually physically come to pledge their loyalty were greeted only by a giant floating head emanating from another runic pillar. When they pledged loyalty to him he replied “K” and vanished.
The office is dark, but not completely. A single candle provides light to the room. The rest of the tower had also been dimly lit. The king wanted to save on manastones.
Angela’s eyes widened as she saw a creepy, old Gary sitting at the other end of the desk. He had a strange look on his face as he looked at Angela.
Koba saluted the king. “Koba”
Gary looked at him, and nodded approvingly. “Lord Gary”
Gary looked at Angela. Angela blinked, and smiled “Angela Harmbringer”
Gary looked at the attractive daemoness with some familiarity. “You won't bring me any harm will you?” He raised his hands.

Angela looked at Koba. Koba met her gaze, and swallowed his spit. He pulled out a box, and threw it at Gary’s desk. Angela grew two extra pairs of arms, and began moving them into various positions while rapidly snapping her fingers.
Gary immediately tried to teleport away. He felt the space around him locking.
The box landed, and popped open. A tiny smiling daemon head on a spring popped up. “SUBRISE!”
“AA-” Gary jumped out of his chair then paused. “Huh?” He gave Angela, and Koba a pleading look.
Angela gave him a wide grin. “Sorry, just checking if you’re an enemy daemon.”
Gary sat back down in his chair, and thought over some things. After some moments. “Ok, umm. I’m not happy about this. However… “ He takes a deep breath. ”daemoness I hear you help people.”
Angela pouts. “Yes, I’m from the wonder gate. I ‘help’ people.”
Gary blinks. “Can you elaborate?”
“No”
“Right, well I'm a firm believer in word magic. Your name is special, you know. See, I have people that you can HELP bring HARM to. Seems like fate, right?”
She narrows her eyes, and smiles without a response.
“Here’s a contract. It’s simple, you will lead the Geco, and kill my enemies. In exchange, you get to eat their souls, but not the souls of my people, or me, or anyone I care about.” Caleb, who was quietly observing in the astral, raised his eyebrows at that.
“Wonder gate doesn’t let me eat souls, but I can force them into service from 100 years, so do that.” She walked around Gary's desk, scaring him. She stood over him, and leaned over. She wrapped her arms around Gary. “I will never hurt you.” She caressed his face lightly.

Gary swallowed, and slowly peeled her hands off. ”Don’t believe you. Anyways I’ll fix that, but deal yea?”
“Deal. Also, Geco?” Angela tilts her head.
“Gary’s Extraordinary Commision” He then looked at Koba. “I only know that you helped my disciple out, what's your deal?”
“I’m Koba.”
Gary suddenly felt exhausted. “I will forgive the blatant potential murder attempt. I trust the daemoness to be plenty strong, but how strong are you?”
“I haven't seen you fight, but if Talesser were to fight me 1 on 1 I could kill him.”
“Why didn’t you?” He asked.
“I’m one person, and my responsibility lies with returning to the SIlver City..”
“Ok, how can I help you?” Gary asks.
“I’m looking for a way to break through space.”
Gary nods. “Well, isn’t that lucky.”
Gary did not give the lands he had recently confiscated to any noble house. Instead he began to confiscate more of these territories.
The newly created Geco, composed of Gary loyalists, and green-frog bandits, made it their business to know everyone’s business, and then use that knowledge as a flimsy pretext to take land.
Many lesser nobles protested, but Geco was granted free reign. Eventually there wasn’t anyone that could complain. This did cause much resentment among the nobility, and many began planning another rebellion.
Gary doesn’t care, because if they do he’ll just take their land! Remember: it’s always morally justified to take land from nobles.

The Humble Life of a Skill Trainer
For Joshua Still, Skills were the lifeblood of his business. He wanted to understand them, collect many of them, and teach a few of them. Which was a problem because while his profession of a Skill Trainer was perfectly legal, it was frowned upon by most of the kingdom. After all, it wouldn't do for a non-tailor to teach Tailoring. Or, so says the Tailors Guild. The same could be said by the Blacksmiths, the Bakers, the Butchers, the Candlestick Makers, the Mages, and every other Guild with enough money and clout to complain. But still, Skill Trainers provide a valuable service, and so he has managed to start his business and keep it under the table. To a degree. With many a bribe. But his quiet anonymous life of research, practice, and training was about to change. When the Baron demands you pay him a visit, you have little choice.

His motivation to pursue his studies, gone. This event caused Jacob to fall into the death grip that is a job in retail. Now if this change was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. But there was one thing Jacob knew for certain. He didn't have to mop the floors anymore. Author's Note: (This is my first story, and I would be very thankful if grammatical errors were pointed out. I could also take a few suggestions in the comments if you would. This is less a planned production, and more a little project that I'm winging as it goes. I will try and be consistent with at least 2 chapters a week. Also, as I am a completely new author, the number of words per chapter may fluctuate. The minimum will be around 1000 words, while other chapters may be 2000-3000. It will hopefully only get better with time.)
