《10k Years Silent Cultivation》Lucky Day

As weeks passed by, Gary continued meditating. He was attempting to cross the barrier. Achieving a human form, and reaching the True Self realm required a great deal of luck. Something Gary was in short supply of. Gary also lacked the knowledge that one typically ascended with an ascension pill made by an experienced alchemist. Fortunately for Gary today was his lucky day. He was once again in his sea of consciousness. His soul descended onto the island and took on a human form. He began meditating at the center of the island. He felt the pulse of the world, and began to gain insight into the true nature of reality. He saw all of his past experiences laid before him, and the uncertain futures that lay in front of him. He knew that his opportunities truly lied on Timor. Any more time wasted here would lead to stagnation. All that he was, and could be collapsed into him. Gary felt a strange calm. He had finally joined the ranks of the True Wizards. Gary was no longer a cat. He was now Catboy Gary! His new humanoid form, and ascension had caused quite a stir in the school. An event like this was extremely rare in Calassaria. Lucy was surprised most of all to see her cat suddenly turn into a man.

However, luck does not materialize out of nowhere. The heavenly prince was having a bad day. He had woken up and immediately stubbed his toe. How does an Arch-mage stub his toe? His toast had tasted funky, and the milk for his coffee had gone bad. His coffee also seemed to have gained a supernatural heat, and burned his crotch when he spilled it. He had multiple heat-resisting spells on him! He didn't know it was still possible for him to burn himself. He carefully cradled his new coffee cup, and made his way to his throne room. After that horrible start to the day, everything afterwards would surely be a positive event.

"My lord the students that you wanted to meet are waiting in the guest hall." Said his attendant.

"What? Oh yeah. Let them in." Said the heavenly prince.

The students walked into the room along with Gary. "Welcome all of you I commend you on your- Oh good heavens1" Yelled out the heavenly prince as his cup of coffee shattered on the ground burning his leg once more. He didn't acknowledge it, and quickly retreated behind his throne.

"You!" He screeched pointing at Gary. "How are you still alive?"

"Do I know you?" Gary asked.

"What? You.. Do you know how much you have cost me?" Hissed the heavenly prince

Gary had a confused look on his face.

"Leave me alone. Look I'll give you anything you want. Hells, I'll even give you my wife If she's still alive." pleaded the heavenly prince.

"What? No. What? Look, I. Do you happen to have a book called Chasing Starlight lying around?" Questioned Gary.

"What? Yes yes take it take. Jack get the book! It's in the royal library." Said the heavenly prince.

The attendant quickly returned with the book and handed it over to Gary.

"Also give the students whatever they want. Oh, and do have any gems, and maybe some kind of spatial storage?" Gary said.

"Yes yes! Whatever please leave." Said the heavenly prince

Afterwards Gary, and the students left with various treasures from the palace. Gary decided to quickly learn the technique for space travel described in chasing starlight. It was a relatively simple technique involving creating a bubble of spatial energy around oneself that would keep enough oxygen in for the user to travel to their destination. The larger the destination the larger the bubble. After having learned the technique Gary decided to say goodbye to Lucy. He would still have the connection to her and know her state of being, but he wouldn't be around to help solve any of her messes. He hoped that the newly evolved goat could pull enough weight to keep her safe. It was a surprisingly heartfelt departure for Gary. Once he was done with it he took off ito the skies in the general direction of Timor. He had asked the heavenly prince about it, and been pointed in a random direction. Fortunately it was his lucky day, and thus the direction he was pointed in ended up being correct.

Gary flew for a long, long time. He had fallen asleep multiple times during the journey. No one mentioned how truly empty space was. Sure there was the occasional bit of debris here and there, but mostly it was an endless black void. Of course in this universe there were space predators hidden in the vast darkness, but Gary wasn't aware of that. Ah, it seems now he was, and kept looking over his shoulder. Not that he would see anything coming up behind him either way, but still it brought him ease of mind. As he kept flying he began to pass by an asteroid. On it could be seen an ornate temple. Gary decided to redirect and visit the temple. He would be wasting a bit of oxygen, but he was sure it wouldn't have too much of an impact. After all, he had departed on his lucky day.
