《10k Years Silent Cultivation》Cowardice

Gary fell for a long long time.
Gary lost track of time.
Gary was certain that his 6 months were about to be up, and he'd be spared from the misery that was eternally falling down.
Gary was certain that Gary was dead.
Gary prays that he'll be alive again.
Gary hopes that his new life will treat him better.
"I sense cowardice"
Gary hears a strange voice before being engulfed in light.
"Holy shit" Exclaims Gary.
General Gary awakens to find himself sitting alone in a war tent.
General Gary finds a letter in front of him.
The letter tells General Gary that he is a general in the Violet Sun legion, of the Luxurious Violet Empire. He'd just lost half his forces in an engagement with the Green Orchard Association, and somebody has to pay for it. Whether it will be General Gary or his remaining troops, only time will tell. The inquisitor is on his way to General Gary's tent. He only has mere moments to act.
"This is a legacy!" General Gary thought.
Inquisitor Marcus was currently one angry minotaur. His post-breakfast pre-brunch snack break had been interrupted by an imperial order to go punish the rabble for their incapabilities. Marcus had left a perfectly good half-eaten chocolate bar, and he was in quite a rush to return to it. He decided to not go through the hassle of punishing the soldiers, and decided to go right ahead and punish the general. With this kind of failure in his record, it was unlikely that this 'General Gary' would ever pose a future threat to Inquisitor Marcus.
Inquisitor Marcus walked into General Gary's war tent.
On the other side of the table sat a corpse.
General Gary's corpse.
General Gary is dead.
Inquisitor Marcus has no doubt in his mind that General Gary, whom he had come to torture and possibly maim, was indeed dead. It would be redundant for Inquisitor Marcus to mutilate a corpse. Also, likely far beneath him. Inquisitor Marcus merits mutilating living enemies, thank you very much. Inquisitor Marcus wouldn't have killed General Gary, but it was within his rights.

Judging by the copious stab wounds on General Gary's body. Inquisitor Marcus could assume that the peasants had turned on General Gary for his gross negligence.
Legally, Marcus would have to execute the soldiers for treason, but it was almost brunch hour and Marcus still had a chocolate bar to finish.
Satisfied at the situation resolving itself, Marcus ordered a soldier to dispose of General Gary's body, returned home, and resolved to write the report shortly after post-dinner midnight-breakfast.
General Gary's corpse was lying in a corpse pile.
General Gary's corpse held a referendum, and elected to no longer be General Gary's corpse.
General Gary made his way out of the corpse pile, and removed the resplendent armor he had been wearing.
General Gary was no longer General Gary.
General Gary was now Gary.
Gary ran off into the woods. Gary found a village by following the road, stole a cloak, and ran in the direction of the Green Orchard Association.
Gary eventually made it to a keep of theirs. Inside the keep he claimed to be a deserter, and provided the leaders with secret documents Gary had pilfered from his war tent.
Thanks to these documents the Green Orchard Association was able to temporarily push the Violet Sun Legion back. The last dozen battles had been a total rout. Thousands of children had been left missing a parent, and thousands of spouses had been left widowed. General Gary was revealed to be alive, and became an eternal idol of treachery within the Luxurious Violet Empire. To the Green Orchard Association he became the savior of democracy and freedom.
Gary was neither of those.
Gary was just a coward.
Despite these events it would be a long war yet.
For his contribution Gary was no longer Gary. He was now, once again, General Gary.

General Gary sat in his war tent under the banner of the Green Orchard association. When suddenly, a white light consumed him.
"Glorious! Just like a true coward. Despite them not being punished, you abandoned your men to potential torture, mutilation, and death. Then you deserted and joined the other side, and divulged secret documents causing the deaths of tens of thousands of soldiers." A voice said out in the void that Gary now found himself in.
"Here's a little gift for you now. Find the next on Helena. This projection's out of energy" Said the voice.
Gary woke up at the bottom of a crevice. There was glowing blue grass underneath Gary. A stream passed by Gary. Little droplets of water tickled him occasionally.
Gary was not sure who, or where Helena was, but he would look into finding her.
In Gary's hand was a skill booklet
Chasing Starlight
'There's more to see beneath the stars.'
This skill allowed a True Self realm cultivator to move at extreme speeds. One would be able to travel to either side of Timor in less than a second, at the cost of all their energy and possibly an entire cultivation stage. Upon reaching mastery, the true use of the skill was to travel to another world as a True Self realm cultivator. One would likely lose all of their cultivation, and would move at only about a tenth of the speed of light. One is not aware during the journey. They are immediately put in stasis until arrival, or interruption. An immortal once mastered this skill and accidentally entered the Doors dimension. It's assumed that he stepped into the wrong door and wound up in a dimension where oxygen is always solid. Nasty places to be. Very hard to breathe.
Gary now assumes Helena is a planet, and he must physically go there. Wonderful.
Gary has acquired a skill book for a True Self realm cultivator.
Gary was not in the True Self realm.
Gary did not have the strength to protect such a valuable book. Make no mistake, the book was indeed valuable.
Gary's net worth was suddenly 10,001 Garys. That's 10,000 more Garys than before! Hurray for Gary!
