《10k Years Silent Cultivation》Learning To Read

Gary really pushed his nose up to the grindstone. He worked as often as he could, barely getting even 6 hours of sleep. He frequently tousled with some of the other vendors for the best spots on the street, ate as little as reasonable, and had nearly beaten a mugger to death for stealing his coin purse. Gary made sure to bury his coins in his dirt floor until he had enough.
Gary eventually managed to save up enough money in just 4 agonizing months, that I'm sure Gary will remember fondly. Gary managed to dig up all of his money, place it in a sack, and charge his way to the library before someone could take it from him.
Gary placed the sack of money on the librarian's desk.
"Oh hello there" squeaked the slightly startled librarian.
"I'd like to learn how to read" said Gary.
"Okay. so this is?"said the librarian gesturing towards the sack.
"400 silver" Gary says.
"I see... normally we accept bank notes" whispers the librarian.
Gary mentally slaps himself on the head.
After getting everything in order, and counting all 400 coins, the librarian told Gary that he would be meeting with a tutor there in the library three times a week for half a year. Gary thanked the librarian and made his way back home. He decided to relax now that he'd paid for what he wanted. A loaf of bread only costs a couple of copper coins. 400 silvers was the equivalent to 20,000 loaves of bread. Gary could've had quite a lot of sandwiches with that much bread. Pity.
Gary entered another routine of studying, working, and sleeping for the next six months. He crammed as much of the language as he could into his tiny little mind. Finally, Gary has attained the magnificent achievement of basic literacy. With this he can attempt to take the first step on the path to his goal of becoming an Immortal and freeing himself from the shackles of society, and social hierarchies. Gary believes that he will never experience true freedom until he can exist outside of the rule and expectations of civil society. With cultivation he might just be able to build a path towards that ideal.

Gary made his way home and took out the book his father gave him.
Big & Strong, Baby's first cultivation manual
Gary's eyes glazed over. Presumably he'd pierced the veil and seen through the secrets of reality. Perhaps the weight of his decisions began pressing on his soul leading to some sort of self-imposed anxious penance. Or his soul's been summoned to the high court of the lord to be taught how to bring about all earthly pleasures.
Gary stood there staring at the cover of the cultivation manual for nearly an hour before sighing, and opening it up to read.

8 915Blue Core
Dungeon: A place full of monsters, traps, treasure, and death. Those are the Great Dungeons, with unplumbed depths below the roots of the mountains. That's not for me. Dungeon: A place of rape, torture, and death, to control and corral enemies and slaves. These are the Red Cores, from which the mage-kings draw their power. That's also not for me. I don't like monsters. I don't want adventurers. I want to stay well away from enemies and slaves. Fortunately, there are alternatives... (Includes explicit and consensual sexual content. Chapters containing such will be marked.) Weekly release schedule. Chapter releases start on Fridays, 5PM EST. Join our Discord!
8 722Superhuman Magus
A story about an anti-hero guy among righteous people fighting against villains disturbing peace of his land. That's how the story unfolds. Interesting, right? Higher Races rules over lower human/sub-human races! The protoganist believes Higher Race took away his family. But he is powerless. So, he gave up so that he could live a harmless life. But fate didn't allow him to do so as it gave him a Supernatural power called 'Avasci'. But that wasn't the end as he found something else within him, something that allows him to defy his human limits. But nothing good comes without a price, balance is an universal law. Will Eason defy his limits while pursuing after his parents? Or will he lose the motivation to do so and selfishly pursue after power? >>NOTE: This is my first novel, so go easy on me with the typos and grammar mistakes.Release Time : Minimum=>1 chapter(good plot)/weekI will release more if I get enough time >>Title Name: The first title name was called Limits Defying Human which is basically the theme of the story. Superhuman Magus is a title that is based on a concept. Can't say more as it's a spoiler. I prefer the first title but it's just that the current title might attract more people. First title didn't make the novel seem like it's fantasy based. >>Motivation to create Novel: I created this novel to implement the vast imaginations I had while I was not creating a novel. So, there will be a lot of extreme imaginations. Most of these imaginations can only be implemented afterwards as it's a story. So it will take a while.
8 178The Warden
Jake was a simple man. All he wanted was to live out the rest of his life on his family farm, a modest life, but one you could take pride in. Then Jake came into the kind of money family dynasties are founded on. Vacationing at his newly bought lake, Jake sits on his porch alone and watches as the world is ripped apart by some god-like being. This god-like being then decides that all descendants of the Gho Clan, still capable of cultivation, will be placed into a trial to test if they are worthy to return to the heavenly realm. Guess what, that inclueds Jake. Now, trapped alone in a cage made from a valley uprooted from Earth, Jake must learn to survive as everything is flooded with some energy he'd never seen nor imagined before; let's call it Qi. To add to their predicament, their doting owner and self-appointed "Grandpa" is the chair-demon at their new school. Can this duo of an ultimate pacifist and a cold fighter dodge and fight the slings and arrows that are flung their way? As they struggles frantically, Iruma and Ryūko's innate kindness begins to win over enemies. DISCLAIMER: Welcome To Demon School! Iruma-kun (C) is created by Osana Nishi. The following characters, excluding Suzuki Ryūko and Félin Lavande, belong to Osana-chan. I have no rights to claim any canon characters of the anime as my own as it it considered plagerising. Also, big thanks to PikaBlaze (DeviantArt) for being the reason I started this story as I was astounded by their story, causing me to try and use my characters in the story.
8 193A New Beginning
Humans don't understand how someone can be both dead and alive, and that fact scares them, it opens up the possibility of a threat even if there is no evidence of malevolent intent. So, the only solution in the minds of humanity is to dominate and subjugate the unknown variable until it no longer has even the potential to be a threat. They choose to pretend that the unknown variable is lesser, that humanity is superior on no other grounds than that it's humanity. Danny had been stuck with the G.I.W for years when the Young Justice team rescued him. Broken, beaten, and none the wiser of the greater majority of humans, the humans with kindness in their eyes and light in their souls. He's been trapped in the darkness of greed and fear and violence for far too long, and what's left behind is a fractured mind and a trained weapon. Buried underneath that, however, is a young child who is scared and confused, a child that hasn't seen the light of day in years. That child never expected to see the bright side to existence, to see the light shine in the souls of the righteous. That all changed with one group of heroes, and one family of Bats.Cover doesn't belong to me.Cross-published on two other sites*Undergoing heavy editing, nothing plot-wise is changing, I am only editing grammar, mechanics, vocabulary, sentence variation, and formatting and overall I am just making it a more pleasant and refined read :) I am also deleting the A/Ns at the beginning and end of each chapter
