《Nostalgic Gamer in a Cultivation World》Chapter 92: A Week in Biron

The following day was filled with lively discussions.
Tetsu hosted an open talk and began to discuss the many miraculous things they learned about soul cultivation. Everyone was present.
Even Songi, who was bandaged up, was there listening. Yet, his expression seemed blank and vacant.
Dyne was more curious about why the healing items couldn't cure bones but then realized that if Val and Ipkus, who were invalids in the game, couldn't recover, it meant that these couldn't heal some grave injuries items.
Vahn had spent his time training in the underground chambers of the mountain. On the eastern side of Biron, a bright red ball was placed in a special room made naturally from the mountain's cavy interiors. It continued to generate powerful heat. Using the river’s water, the heat of this Fire Seed was hot enough to create steam, which is used to power the turbine system that produces electricity.
The electrical science that they had was very primitive as the tools that were used were primitive. Still, it was enough to power the fans.
Dyne took one look at it and concluded that this would be the place the Songi would later attack to cause the Mist to reach Biron Monastery.
Dyne was being followed by Zopu and Kin, who were now amazed at Dyne’s knowledge and wisdom. As a modern man and a soldier trained to master the essential survival skills and necessary engineering, electrical, and carpentry skills for his many missions, his casual comments would produce vast improvements for Biron Monastery.
Zopu and Kin marveled, but Dyne reminded them that he was from Sol, a country with advanced techs that could produce buildings taller than mountains.
“Did you talk to Songi about what you learned?” Dyne asked Zopu.
“I did state and explain why Gala had the advantage. But I did not offer him the same praises you have for him. But his expression and looks were just as dull as it is now.”
“His anger towards Gala was replaced. He felt a great form of inferiority. So praising him and telling him why he is weaker than Gala will not have any effects anymore. What he wants is to be better than me. After all, I am a ten-year-old boy.” Dyne shook his head.
“Patriarch, what are your arrangements for our journey towards the Voz Forest?”
“The target is West Voz forest. I read through the book about the Genesis Tree care you showed me and found a way to transplant the Genesis Tree to revert it back to a seed. However, since it’s dying, it's practically useless if I try to exert effort in making sure that it lives as it is dying. So instead of striving to keep that Tree alive, I’ll just make it a Seed once more. So we’ll do this technique itself.”

“That will require at least twenty monks to redirect the power of a Genesis Tree into a seed. Also, we don’t have a shell that is stated here. We do not know where to get this Life Chrysalis.” Zopu explained.
“It doesn't need that many monks. I think twenty if you are decently skilled in Spirit. But we are Soul Cultivators. So I think me, Vahn, and Tetsu should be enough. That’s why I’m bringing Gala for this trip. This should be a way to improve his Soul Cultivation.” Dyne explained.
“But what of the Life Chrysalis?”
“When I was in Sol, the Genesis Tree died, and they used that method to make it into a Seed. When they did that, right inside the Genesis Tree was the Life Chrysalis, which housed all the Genesis Tree's energy. Dad said that a strange rock was left after drawing the power of the Tree back in. So if we use this method in West Voz Forest, we might acquire a similar rock.” Dyne explained.
“I see. So it is actually inside the Genesis Tree!”
“But Patriarch… it says in the book that to do so, it would require nearly a decade for the Tree to grow.”
“Not unless we can constantly channel energy to feed it. Sol Tower had extremely potent fire energy at the bottom, correct?”
“Yes. It has the properties of Earth and Fire.” Zopu nodded.
Dyne perked up.
“Brimstone? Does warrior Square have Brimstone energy? Interesting…” Dyne began to make further calculations.
Dyne knew that in the game, Rim Elm, which hosted Meta, would be unavailable. And to draw out the remaining energy of Meta, the player must go to Warriors square and use that Genesis Tree to make Meta reach its strongest state.
“Sol probably didn’t use the Warriors Square to speed up the growth of the seedling since the Warrior square is on the lower levels of Sol. This would make it covered in the Mist. But here, we can use the Fire Seed to gather the released fire energy.” Dyne explained.
Soon, a group of Monks returned and brought with them several Ostriches. The steak that Dyne cooked was such a hit that the Monks yearned for more of them.
At lunch, Tetsu, Vahn, Gala, Zopu, and Kin ate with Dyne.
“It’s been a while since my Force Foundation had something in it. In Rim Elm, I would have to ration the food that we ate constantly. But with the rich meat of the Frogs and Ostriches, I feel that I’ve recovered a very, very small portion of my physical strength. I might equal to a level eight person in Meta’s terms.” Tetsu boasted.
“How did you create your Force Foundation? Meta told me I could create mine when we awaken a Genesis Tree and improve it with the more Tree’s we awaken.” Vahn asked Tetsu.

“Sadly, the items to create a Force Foundation are no longer available,” Zopu explained.
“We receive it during trips to Sebucus islands. Monsters known as the Ogre can help us grow it if we eat the Force Foundation organ of it. There are stronger Ogres that can offer more powerful Force Foundations in Karisto Kingdom. But since it is too distant and the war was raging, it wasn’t easily accessible. So only I and Guardian Kin have Force Foundations from the strongest Ogres in Karisto.” Zopu answered in Tetsu’s stead.
“Wow. I wonder when I can make my Force Foundation…” Vahn sighed.
“Vahn, don’t worry. The Genesis Tree can grant you one!” Meta secretly sent a message that only Tetsu. Vahn and Dyne could hear.
“Why can a Genesis Tree create the Force Foundation? I thought its an actual organ.” Dyne was intrigued.
“Awakening the Genesis Tree bestows Ra-Seru wearers amazing energy. But since we are connected to a host, the Host evolves together with us. It is said that the War God had blessed the trees on the last year right when Rogue made known of his betrayal. And so, awakening Genesis Trees allow the wearers to receive the blessing of the War God.”
“So, I was right. Ogres have received the blessing from the War God. Maybe that’s what makes the Slime in Sebucus Islands different…” Dyne thought to himself.
“The blessings push the physique of the human's body beyond its set limitations. So for you, the easiest way to get that is to awaken a Genesis Tree.” Meta explained.
“The War God actually did this?”
“It was his apology to the human race. Of course, the Evil God did not leave his blessings. He was considered to be a traitor of Tieg at the end of the war.”
Dyne was in deep thought.
“So does that mean that Gala and Songi have their Force Foundations?”
“Master Teacher and Songi were given a lower-tiered Ogre, but we can gift these high-tiered Force Foundation to you if you want, Patriarch.”
“No need. I have methods of acquiring our own, and it isn’t inferior to the Force Foundations you have. It could probably be stronger.” Dyne smiled.
“Then we shall reserve these to Gala. Elder Tetsu, we could grant you one now? Or would Master Vahn prefer it?” Guardian Kin offered.
“No. Vahn won’t need it. You can give it to Tetsu for now. But don’t gift the force foundation to Gala just yet. I have plans for him and training.” Dyne explained.
“We understand.”
Dyne continued to strengthen Biron’s defenses and even began to instruct the Monks for Soul cultivation directly. The training for non-monks also began, and more and more youths began training.
The Outer Disciples also increased in numbers. Ichirou was originally the only Outer Disciple as he was the only one who has never worn a Seru. But now, even the middle-aged workers that took residence in Biron now received and began their training.
Dyne also went to the merchants and began to trade goods with them. During his adventures, the gold he acquired allowed the group to purchase and even craft a stronger armor for Vahn, Dyne, Tetsu, and even Gala’s outfits were improved.
In this environment where the Mist was not present, Tetsu was able to grow stronger and stronger than he was even over level 10 in terms of Meta’s stats!
Vahn and Meta’s cultivation in Fire brought no clear results, but Meta reported that a large amount had reduced Vahn’s magic usage. Gimards now only required seven mana points from the basic ten. The Zenoir now only needed twenty-nine mana points from the original thirty-two.
Yet, no matter how he tried, Vahn and Meta couldn’t do what Dyne did and wield the Fire.
The day of departure finally arrived.
Tetsu, Vahn, Gala, and Dyne were now ready to take the West Voz forest exit.
“Alright. Remember… We don’t know what we’ll be facing. So we have to hurry as fast as we can. I won’t be bringing Calamity for this trip. We will be sprinting and running as fast as we can since the Mist is thick there.” Dyne reminded everyone.
Guardian Kin and Zopu were there to send them out and even kept the departure a secret to all of Biron.
“Alright. Before we head to East Voz Forest, I’d like to compare the thickness of the Mist. Can we head over to East Voz Forest’s exit?” Dyne asked.
“Of course.” Zopu agreed and brought the group towards the West Entrance.
The fans were turned off, and the doors opened, allowing the Mist to come in.
“Alright. Good. Vahn and Gala. Follow my actions!” Dyne suddenly commanded.
He took out three Speed Elixirs and handed two to Vahn and Gala.
He then drank the Speed Elixir, to which Gala and Vahn followed.
“Tetsu, change of plans. You stay here and continue teaching. Trust me. Vahn, Gala. Move! Move! Move!” Dyne immediately ran out of the door, confusing and shocking everyone.
Strafe, who was watching, was also confused at the sudden actions of Dyne.

Second Wind, legend of Pandemonium (Finished/Incomplete)
The developers of the worlds leading VRMMORPG Edge Online have decided to shut down its servers after over a decade. Shugireth Darkstar, the leader of Pandemonium, Edge Online's top guild, suffers from a deadly disease and his end is near. He hasn't left his VR pod for 5 years, as the medical nanodroids at the hospital takes care of him. Without Edge, he will die, because his physical body has already been all but destroyed by the sickness. Seeing no light at the end of the tunnel, Shugireth Darkstar, the Master of Pandemonium, stubbornly stays behind as the servers shut down... If that was all, we could end this story right here. However, that was only the beginning of the legend of pandemonium. The prelude to the movement, if you will. Shall we see what happens next? -------------- Some notes from Me (The author, gasp surprise): I first wrote this (100k) as an experiment. I saw the advice about having foils for overpowered MCs, and I watched quite a few lectures on writing. I wanted to test things out for myself and see if I could carry a story through other ways than only relying on physical conflict like some thrillers do. Thus this might lean a bit towards slice of life with a romance subplot, but I don't want to give my story away so read it if u want to know more. This was basically never intended for anyone else's eyes but my own, and written to explore writing as a process. This wasn't my attempt at writing a good book, but it turned into something that I think might interest some people, so I decided to pop it up here. It is slightly old so my style and writing skills have advanced considerably since I first started this thing. Having said that, I think it's pretty readable, but I am very interested in how other people will receive this. Please feel free to criticize it and just in general shoot me some feedback on what you think. It contains light Litrpg elements, not heavy table spam, it's just the basis of the world. Although I like that sort of thing, this was written before I even knew of Royalroad and hadn't considered litrpg much. Some of you may recognize that it was slightly inspired by Overlord. Also, the Tags for sexual content and traumatizing content are there as a precaution on all of my stories pretty much, even if my story does not contain any of that at the moment. I can't really know what the future will bring, but in the case of this story I do know a little bit, since I wrote 100k words before posting it here. And I just posted it on a whim because I figured some readers on Royalroad might enjoy this story.
