"Whoa!" Ted hollered as he stepped out over an abyss.
Sid reached out and grabbed Ted by his shoulder. With a quick yanked, he pulled his friend back from the abyss.
It feels like this kind of thing keeps happening, doesn't it? Death commented as his scythe continued to swing behind them. Are there just a bunch of holes everywhere?
"Considering we are in an unknown building which seems to now be deteriorating," Sid commented. "It is reasonable for not only holes placed as obstacles, but also just deteriorated sections."
"Didn't you say how this place was in such great condition when we first showed up?" Ted asked.
"Correct, but things have apparently changed." Sid stated.
As the swarm got closer, Sid turned his head back to look at them. Immediately, he put his arm around Ted, and then jumped off the edge.
Whoa! Isn't that a bit... Death paused as his stolen scythe skimmed inches from his back.
He disappeared and then reappeared behind the falling Ted and Sid. So, what's the plan bro?
Sid looked up, as they continued to fall. The swarm flew out and stayed in the air for a moment, before it rushed down after them.
"Continue to run." Sid said calmly.
Ted looked down. Below them was a room full of a strange red liquid. He looked up at the flying monsters that continued to chase them. Then, he looked down again.
"Do you think they can swim?" Ted asked.
Sid looked around as they continued to fall. "They have similar wings to bats, and bats are excellent swimmers."
"Ah," Ted sighed. "I was thinking we could try and lose them under the water."
Are your eyes working? Dude, there's no way that stuff is anywhere close to water! Heck, it's probably toxic.

"We must make a choice." Sid stated. "There is a hallway near the bottom across this room, and there is the water below us."
But didn't you say they could swim?
"That is likely, but it is unlikely they can hold their swarms form in the water without drowning." Sid explained.
Do they even need to breathe?
Sid nodded. "It appears so."
"But we don't know what that red stuff is?" Ted added.
"Correct."
Dude. It's gotta...
SCHWING!
Ted looked up to see the scythe swing and cut off a single hair from his eyebrow.
"The water." Ted gulped.
Dude.
"Agreed," Sid nodded.
DUDE!
Splash!
Dude...
