《The Bartender at the End of the Universe》Ch 65: Bros Being Bros

"That was the guy?"
Oh yeah, huge a-hole.
"Kind of just looked like a sleepy little guy to me. All tuckered out and lying there without a care in the world." Og'drimun floated around Death's head as he talked.
The fog was thick around the two of them, as Death trudged through thick bushes. The only noise came from Death's bones rattling against the shrubbery, and Og'drimun's voice. Every now and then there would be a sound of the fabric of Death's clothes getting caught. The fog was heavy, and wet. It gave the air an unearthly chill, but Og'drimun's fur helped keep him warm, and Death had no nerves to feel any sort of coldness.
That's what he wants you to think. He's pulled that trick every time I've seen him. Death complained. He starts out lying there on the ground, and then leaps around with his big sword like some kind of crazy frog.
"He leaps like a frog?" Og'drimun asked as his long ears flowed around like a cape.
Oh yeah. hops all around and crashes down with his sword, smashing anything close to him. Death explained as he waved his hands around. Smashed up half of that carnival thing just chasing me and Sentenza down. It was a huge bummer.
"Interesting," the demon mused as he stroked his chin. "So, he's a lot more formidable than he looks?"
Oh, one hundred percent bro. He lures you in with his friendly looking skeletal body, and then...WHAM! He hits you with the worst feeling you've ever had before as the specter of death inside him cries out to you.
"Sounds like a real bummer."
Yes! Exactly the word I would use. Death nodded as he pointed his finger at the floating demon.

Suddenly, Death stopped moving and looked up at Og'drimun. He put his hand on his chin and slowly nodded his head again. So, bro? I just thought of something.
Og'drimun smirked. "Does it have to do with my awesome flying abilities?"
Death snapped his fingers. Yes! Exactly it.
"Ah, of course." Og'drimun chuckled. "Well sorry to say I don't think I could teach you how to do it. It's art really, not something I could pass out like candy. You understand, I'm sure."
Huh? Nah man nothing like that. I just realized you could probably get some super sick airtime if you picked up skateboarding with me. We could be an unstoppable duo! With my skill and your flying stunts, we'd win every competition. Death said excitedly.
"What competitions?"
Well, we'd have to start some of course, and make them team events. Just for duos though, not like groups of ten or whatever. Don't want things to get out of control, right?
"Right...but where would the competition be? And how would everyone get there?" Og'drimun tried to hide it, but his voice betrayed his interest in the idea.
Death nodded excitedly as he started to walk forward again. So we'd have to build something here, because where else would we put it? Maybe we could find something in the carnival to help set it up. I swear I saw some fancy machinery in one section. We could rip pieces off of that, or...wait! No, we like do some funky street thing, and just have the competition in the ruins of there! Like smash things up a bit more and then people have to go over and around the mess, yeah?
"Uh, I mean yeah. That could work." Og'drimun said as he tried to hide his excitement by looking away from Death and rubbing his shoulder. But his eyes practically oozed raw passion.

Oh yeah, it'll be totally sick! Just gotta get that suit guy to send out some flyers or something. Death put his hands proudly on his hips as he nodded.
"Him? Uh...I mean, he might be busy or something, you know...He does so much work after all...maybe we could get someone else to spread the word?" Og'drimun coughed anxiously.
Nah, he's perfect! I mean, he comes here anyway. So, why not just have him pick some things up when he comes next? Death reasoned.
"I don't know..." Og'drimun sat down on the top of Death's head and wrapped his ears around Death's skull like a hat. "I just feel like another option would be better."
I mean, who else comes and goes from here? I guess we could ask Sentenza, since he's got that thing in his wagon.
"Huh?" Og'drimun shook his head. "Wait, what did you say?"
I'm guessing it could be used to put stuff places, but I've only seen things come out of it, you know? It's where I keep finding cool boards and junk like that. Death said casually.
Og'drimun leaned over the front of Death's head, so he was looking into his eye sockets. With his head upside down, he asked, "You've actually seen and used a rift in Sentenza's wagon?"
Uh, yeah? Where else would he keep it? His room is way too boring for something like that.
"He's taken you into his room?"
I mean...not exactly? I just figured I'd check out everyone's place. His is definitely the worst. Like there's nothing there basically! Just stuff to sleep and clean up. Death let out a sigh. It was like walking into a western themed corporate office or something.
"I..." after Og'drimun recovered from his initial shock, a wicked smile crept onto his lips. "I think you've just given me a fantastic idea. For a surprise for the others of course."
Whoa! Another one?
"You better believe it." Og'drimun said as he lifted himself back on top of Death's head to sit down. "I'm just full of generosity. Love giving for no reason other than giving's sake."
Whoa, that's...pretty cool actually. Death said. Thinking of others. I guess I underestimated you bro. Why I thought...what the?
Death stopped as his foot landed in sand. Then, he sprinted forward, and Og'drimun nearly flew off of him.
We found it! We found it! No way! Bro, this is so awesome!

The Make-Up Game. | larry stylinson
"Go on Lou, just give it a go." ; in other words, Louis' older sister Jade dared him to put on make up and Louis ends up loving it._Larry Stylinson_•I do just wanna day that this book isn't short. When I say that I mean the chapters are long and things don't happen straight away. When writing this book, I wanted to develop the characters before jumping straight in to relationships and drama. I tried to make it as realistic as I could (I was young when I started this book). Just please give it a chance as I'm really proud of this book and really enjoy writing it!!
