《The Forgotten Gods》Chapter 125

I spent all my daylight hours gathering the equipment that I needed and packing it in bags. I couldn’t make several trips in and out of the safe room because it would reset each time. It was just part of what kept the place clean. So that meant that I needed to bring with me everything I needed for the projects that I had. Then when I finished, I needed to take it all back out.
From my landing, I gathered as many thumb thickness sticks as possible, each around three feet long, and bundled them up. Afterward, I filled my large bag with the smaller half dollar-sized river stones. It made the pack heavy, but it would let me get a lot of practice imbuing. Besides, I was only going to the safe room.
I headed back in to get to work. The problem with the dungeon was it was a great solution that was overkill. So the shamans figured that Chaos got a little jealous over how well I worked for Order. So that meant that she waited until I was ready to leave to spring this on me.
The whole process, however, was something that many of the shamans had gone through themselves as they came up. The process was to create a Shrine, make a way, secure the route, obscuring the shrine, provide a path, and then call the worthy. The provide a path wasn’t going and making a trail, but rather it would end up being providing sleeping arrangements for those who needed to come. Secure locations that they can rest in while traveling. This used to fall to the tribes to maintain, but as I am just one person, it might be me until my tribe could grow.
Once I got to people being called, I would get tasked with providing for them as well. Not much, but I needed to be able to offer them something when they got here. All the shamans thought that the Sisters would let me travel and so I should be able to make it to Lannah. Several of them laughed when they heard we were bonded. Depending on which era of the shamans, it was either marriage or where the shamanka came from.
I set up all my gear in the largest room of the safe room and got to work. The plan was for me to build stakes that I could link to a tree and have the tree grow better. I was also going to see if I could give them some other abilities so that this area was safe. If everything went well with what I was doing for my landing, I would move much of the idea up above as well.
Plants were going to be my friend on this part of the assignment. It just seemed like the right idea to protect this whole area and obscure the path like I was told to. Also, since I was going to need to provide food for people, I was going to try to get fruit and nut trees.

I got started with my idea of a growth stake. I took a sharp stake that I would use for a pitfall and then started with my growth runes and call rain. I then also added my plant empathy rune and a limiter rune. My plan was that the call rain would happen when the plant needed water and would stop once it said it was good. I put on it also that the growth would end after the tree hit twenty years of age and wouldn’t bond with another tree until either moved or the one it was connected to died.
I also put the runes for the large lay to rest on there with a seek link over to undead and dead. I figured that if this was something I was leaving here for a while, then I might as well make it so that the undead wouldn’t bother me.
I then linked again the seek over to dead and animal and put rot and a delay with three days on it. So anything animal that was dead would get three days within about ten feet of the stake before it started to rot out. With the fast rotting and the call to rain, I was hoping to help fertilize the trees if I wasn’t there to care for them. Lastly, I added a power stone to the top of the stake.
Once I had the power stone in, I socketed a core.

With the first growth stake made, I started the long process. Each one took about 2 hours to make, and so after a week in the safe room, I was ready for the next step in the plan. First, I needed to create a thick happy forest full of fruit and nut trees. I already had two, and so those would be the first trees I was boosting the growth on.
When I exited the dungeon, only 7 hours had passed, and the night was almost over. I needed to check to see what all was required to level the cores as it would be best if I could quickly level these while they worked to build up what was needed here.
I then went and started the feeding process to find out how much this core would take to level up. It needed two square feet of topsoil, drained me dry on mana, two large granite rocks, and a Unnt Femur. Which honestly was a manageable level up. Most of my 0 to 1 core level-ups had been easy, quick ones. It was always the higher levels when I moved a core to level 4 that odd things happened.
Level 1 dropped a week off the year’s growth and adjusted the growing conditions to a 10% last improvement was the mana reservoir went up to 50. So I pushed on until I got the two stakes that I had near the nut trees to level three.

Self feeding- Any Animal that dies within ten feet of the linked tree’s roots or canopy will have the rot spell cast on it at three days from the time it enters the canopy. Lightening strikes on the tree will be completely converted to Mana and stored.
Twenty weeks to grow the trees to a twenty-year-old perfect growing condition tree would be helpful. The thing was, I didn’t want to stay here for twenty years, so I was going to have to push forward some other ways as well. So this would be a good base and should make it more doable for me overall.
It was time to go looking for the plants that I needed. I was going to change up this whole area for Chaos and hopefully not make Order mad…

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.

John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
