《Endless River (Isekai LitRPG)》Chapter 32 - The Fight

When I saw the leader bringing with him yet another Foundation Establishment, I was honestly a bit afraid. I didn't think he'd be this cautious, and now I had to deal with one Mid rank and two Low ranks. Well, one and a half maybe, the bald guy was severely injured so I could kill him easily now.
I thought it was because of the red dark blood I saw him cough up earlier, as I could feel the strong vitality in that blood even from afar.
Whenever I hear them talking, I feel weird. It's a language I've never heard before, so I had no idea what they were planning to do. I just have to wait for a good opportunity and make my move.
When we got close to the previous battleground, the leader and the silver-haired guy stayed back while the bald guy continued on his own.
I could tell they were trying to bait me, of course, it won't work. But the Mama bird was still waiting there, and she would take the bait!
The leader was using his own Mana to cover himself and the silver-haired dude. It's no issue for me due to my already high Spirit, but for her...
The bald guy carried his saber with his left arm and continued moving slowly step by step while looking around, sometimes the eyes are better than the spiritual sense. Just because someone has great stealth skills and can hide his life energy it doesn't mean they're invisible to the naked eye.
I could sense the Mama bird on the branches above, but she had no idea that there are two guys hidden waiting to ambush her.
Suddenly she moved! She was flying directly towards us.
*Clang!*
Just as I thought, the Mama bird tried to sneak attack the bald guy from the side, he didn't even notice her however she was stopped by the silver-haired youth using a long green sword.
They both slammed against each other and retreated several steps back, they seemed to be on par in terms of strength. Yet, the biggest issue here is that the leader is still waiting.
Is he waiting for me? It couldn't be. If he sensed me he should have acted earlier. I think if I were him I would doubt the Mama bird's ability to insta kill the goateed man and injure the bald guy to that extent...
Just as they were about to clash once again, I quickly sent my clone out of the bald guy's shadow. At this point, I was behind him, while the leader was on a nearby tree behind us.
I moved with my clone and launched Predator's WarCry at full strength again while simultaneously forming four wind blades towards his back and rushing towards him at a breakneck speed and activated Fiery Charge the moment I was 8 meters from him.
The spiritual attack wasn't that effective compared to the original due to the clone having only 60% of my offensive attributes, but keep in mind that just 60% of my current Spirit is on par with the leader. So, it achieved the desired result. Because the silver-haired guy was stunned for a bit which made his attack weaker, thus the Mama bird was able to seize this opportunity and attack with her full strength from the front while I took care of the back.

Especially the back, the wind blades left four huge wounds on his back that would affect his combat ability plus the damage from Fiery Charge.
Just as I was about to rush in his direction once again to put him in the range of the dark flames. A giant flaming snake appeared from behind swallowing me whole and I immediately disintegrated, then it dissipated. The clone had the same HP and resistances as me, which means if it was my main body there I would have died instantly. Seeing this it really felt like I was way over my head, but I quickly ignored those thoughts that would only lower my chances of survival and focused on the task at hand!
I was prepared for that, thanks to my clone's miraculous ability to think independently. I was keeping my eye on the leader this whole time with my main body, and the fight was handled by the clone.
His speed was indeed terrifyingly fast, he could have saved his subordinate from bearing the brunt of our double attack but he waited for the perfect moment when my clone just finished his attack and was still in that split second between the attacks and made his move.
Just as he landed beside the silver-haired guy and was about to rush towards the Mama bird, I got out of the shadow. By now I was directly behind them both! The bald guy was very injured and they all knew it wasn't a fight he was capable of making any useful contributions.
With my 217 Spirit Attribute, that was definitely in the range of High Foundation Establishment monsters. I launched a Predator's WarCry yet again at a maximum capacity of 200 spiritual power which was around 80% of every bit of spiritual energy I had.
*Screeeeeeech!!*
I activated Sky Dash and then flew towards them with unimaginable speed, at this point I had met the conditions of all of my passive skills. Bringing my Agility to a total of 203 even faster than the leader.
Like a bolt of lightning, I was already behind them!
*Whoosh* *Whoosh* *Whoosh* *Whoosh*
I then sent four wind blades towards the neck of the leader, with my now improved wind blades in the perfection realm, every single blade is capable of dealing a total of 561 HP in damage, without taking any resistances into consideration of course!
However, I didn't stop there! While rushing toward them I activated Fiery Charge, which now has 8 meters in range and an 8 seconds duration.
They still had not recovered from Predator's WarCry at this point. Just as the wind blades were about to land, the leader as if by some sort of instinctual reflex put his arms in front of him and turned around.
The moment I saw him quickly recovering from my spiritual attack, I was shocked! Yet, fortunately for me and unfortunately for him. He turned to look exactly in my direction. I used this chance to look at him directly in the eye, with my now eyes radiating a dreadful golden glow.

Advanced [Piercing Gaze]!
His mental state which was quickly recovering was dealt another heavy blow from my best spiritual attack. Predator's WarCry has an area of effect, though great, it was incomparable to Piercing Gaze that not only affected the spirit but also the mental state of the target. This means that if he was just about to think of launching a defensive or offensive skill he won't be able to, his thought process would be affected, and forced to think according to his now shocked and scared mental state.
*BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!* *BANG!*
The wind blades landed exactly one after the other. I had already created them in a horizontal position because I wanted to cut his head off. The first two wind blades completely removed his two arms, while the others landed directly on his neck and the other at his right shoulder.
*BANG!!*
Then I stabbed my claws into his chest, this time I didn't just collide with him to send him away. But I stabbed my claws and closed my grip completely clinging to him for him to take the full effect of Fiery Charge, my strongest move yet. It is currently able to deal with a staggering 748 HP every second it's in contact with the target.
*SLASH*
And I smashed his giant open neck wound with my steel sharp beak.
This whole process might sound long, but not even two seconds have passed since my clone got destroyed and the leader appeared.
[You have Killed a Foundation Establishment(Mid) Human |Experience Points +16000|]
Seeing that he died, I quickly jumped to the silver-haired guy. I still had my Sky Dash active and every other passive skill that raises agility, coupled with his previous fatal injuries...
All he could see was a dark blur with a tinge of golden, I stabbed him in the neck with my claws before he even moved.
*Whoosh* *Whoosh*
Two wind blades landed on his stomach and neck.
*BANG!*
Another hit on the head my beak on his open wound! Shit, I'm liking this chicken move, just pecking these sadistic assholes.
[You have Killed a Foundation Establishment(Low) Human |Experience Points +12000|]
I then turned to chase the bald guy who was trying to escape.
Too laughable! I was on a crazy battle frenzy right now, due to all the adrenaline and a bit of fear and nervousness mixed in. Madness was unleashed!
I caught up in no less than three seconds! Scary black flames radiating all over my body and moving at a breakneck speed!
*STAB*
*Whoosh*
Another claw stab at the back, coupled with a wind blade and a head peck at the back of his bald head while letting the flames do the rest.
[You have Killed a Foundation Establishment(Low) Human |Experience Points +12000|]
[Congratulations Host for Leveling up from 28 to 29. +5 Stat Points, +2 Skill Points.]
*Thud*
I landed on the ground, panting heavily. This didn't even require that much stamina, it's just that I was holding my breath the whole time, I was too nervous but also focused.
After this quick yet intense fight, I realized something.
I'm not capable of fighting for a long time at all, if my first full-blown attacks don't kill or completely cripple the target, I'm toasted!
My skills can be used at the same time and require a lot of mana and spiritual power due to the high damage they deal.
This means that the moment the fight begins, I'm able to give my everything. It's great, but the drawback is that once my everything isn't enough I'd be a sitting duck!
To be honest, I do like this sort of quick from zero to a hundred in a heartbeat kind of fight. It does suit me, I'm naturally cowardly so sneak attacks and no actual confrontation with who I'm trying to kill is very soothing and comforting and I feel very much in control of everything.
Stuff like looking them in the eye and start arguing with them is not for me at all. I rather use the best and most efficient way to get rid of them as soon as possible. However, there are positives and negatives to both approaches I think.
It's also great in terms of focus and mental state throughout the battle.
Just now, I was so focused and alert, a literal killing machine. However, if the fight dragged out for a long time, I can see myself getting more afraid, angry, and tired which would lead to me making errors, and errors here mean certain death.
I'd have loved it if I had the equivalent of Fiery Charge but as a ranged attack, this skill will kill me someday I hate getting that close to them. I need to further raise my resistance and improve the strength and durability of my body.
I did enjoy the combo of claw stabbing, head pecking, fiery charge, and close-range wind blades. If we add to it my high spiritual attacks it's a perfect combo!
I just need some escape techniques and skills. Something just out of this world, so that the moment things don't work out, I'd be able to run away immediately.
Seeing that I didn't receive the quest completion notification, I remembered what the goal said. 'Kill the offenders'!
From now on, it'll be just a one-sided slaughter.
I wanted to call out for the Mama bird, but if they're going to die anyway why waste the experience points? I might as well do everything myself.
I opened my map and left it open in the side of my vision this time, just like a game, and rushed towards the fortress!
