《The Dragon of Dreams》Chapter 87: Sleepy

Late Morning - Late Spring : Kingdom of Zan
"Haah.. haah.. I.. win.." Completely out of breath, I finally managed to pin Ilios to the ground after nearly 3 hours.
*Panting*
*Thud* Collapsing to the ground, I laid there next to Ilios.
For the past 3 hours, we were chasing each other beyond our full speed without any magic and needless to say, it was exhausting.
-To think he's that fast now..-
"You two can seriously go at that for 3 whole hours?" After father finished talking with the halfie, he just sat down and watched as Ilios and I accidentally destroy our surroundings more than they already were.
"Yeah.. all thanks to adrenaline."
"Adrenaline?"
"You know, like when you're hyped up, and you feel like you can conquer the world."
"Oh you mean fighting spirit?"
"Kind of." It's not quite the same, but it's close enough. "Did you get any good information out of that guy?"
A smile appeared on his face, "Sure did. The bad part is that I need to fly him all the way to a space rune to get to Bahamut again."
-Ah right, forgot about those.- "So are you just planning to get reinforcements for the rebellion?"
"Yeah. With the evidence from this halfie, we can get the elders to cleanse the tower. That not only crushes the source of a content wide war, but also the source of funding for the rebellion. Two birds with one stone."
"I'm surprised you care about the content wide war part so much. I figured you'd care less about it."
"Well my closest friends are the leaders of a Nation. I can't exactly ignore things implicated with them."
"I guess. So how long are you going to be in Bahamut this time?"
"Hopefully not too long, my job ends after I bring the halfie to the elders."
"Once you get back, are we going home?"

"Do you not like Kaelallan?"
"It's fine but I'd rather spend time with mother, or play with large scale magic." Long story short, I was starting to get homesick.
"Well, we will go home once I get back then."
An excited smile came to my face, "So are you going to leave now?"
"Yeah, I don't want to procrastinate and let the tower make more advances on Kaelallan. I can't let you get implicated more than you already are."
"I just slaughtered 12 nation ranks father.. and one was a 400 year old halfie. If that didn't send a message I'm not sure what will."
"..." Father stared at me in shock.
"If the tower seriously sends more people after losing THAT.. I'm gonna just go smack the tower myself."
Losing 12 Nation ranks was already a ridiculous loss, but considering one was miles beyond the realm of humans, the tower would be stupid to not realize what the situation had become.
-But why does the tower want Kaelallan so badly..-
"Well, I guess I'll just head out.." Father awkwardly turned back to the halfie and glanced at me. "Don't.. do anything stupid this time.."
"I won didn't I?" I gave a childish smile, but fathers face was one of concern. "I know father, I don't act on things unless I'm confident."
"I know.. you're a really smart and strong kid and I'm proud to be your father just.. be careful."
A warm smile came to my face, "You need to be safe as well.. that halfie is some extremely high value cargo so... On second thought, how about I come with you." I figured that considering the tower sent an ancient halfie towards Kaelallan, they might send something similar to stop this halfie from making it to Bahamut since it would destroy the rebellion. -But I doubt they'll even find out this halfie isn't dead..-

"No it's alright, I have some.. special ways to get people around."
-Wow that's suspicious..- "What does that mean?"
"You'll figure it out eventually.."
I gave father a look of judgement, "Well, be safe. I won't forgive you if you get injured."
Father paused to think for a moment before the halfie changed to its humanoid form. Father went over and picked him up, giving me a warm smile before he left.
"Haah.." -now what to do..-
I wanted to take a nap after being so exhausted, but it would be a bad idea to sleep both in the middle of nowhere and to not inform Helen or Oliver of the situation. -I can sometimes sleep for a while after all.-
I looked over at Ilios who was nearly falling asleep next to me. "Well I guess let's head back.."
Ilios lethargically got up and walked onto my back before laying down again.
"I'll be quick so hold on."
I quickly launched up into the air using stronger thrusters than usual.
Now that Ilios was older, he could handle the ridiculous acceleration of my thruster magic.
I quickly got to altitude and managed to make it back to Kaelallan in a matter of minutes.
Once I got there I realized I was too lazy and tired to take the proper route and enter through the city walls and walk up to the palace.
Instead, I planned to turn off the thrusters while around mach and change to my true form, landing in the palace.
But that was going to be a little harder than it sounds.
"I need you to get smaller Ilios." We were about to hurdle over the city at mach in my humanoid form so I needed him to be small.
Still several kilometers away, I changed to my humanoid form and put Ilios in my arms.
"It'll be a hard landing so.." As we got closer, I found I was going to overshoot the palace a bit and used wind magic to slowly move me down.
*THUD*
Perfectly landing just inside the palace gates, I completely obliterated the walkway under my feet.
-To think my legs actually took that well..- I hit the ground far harder than I had expected so it was a pleasing surprise to find I didn't break anything.
Letting Ilios jump out of my arms, I started walking into the palace.
Noticing a maid whose face was pale looking at the destroyed walkway, I figured the least I could do was repair the damage.
"Here.." with a wave of my hand, the shattered ground started to fix and repair itself. "Miss." I waved out to the maid who was simply frozen staring at the repaired walkway.
"Y..yes?!" She jolted straight as soon as she noticed I asked her something.
"Where is Oliver right now?"
"The lord is in his room, young master."
"Sweet, thanks."
Walking inside, I immediately realized I didn't need to ask for directions.
-I forgot my aura spread so far now..-
Using my aura, I immediately found out where Oliver was. He was laying in his bed, dead asleep.
-I guess I'll go to Helen then..- I knew first hand how aggravating it was to be woken up during a deep sleep so I didn't want to wake up Oliver.
Helen was in her office across the palace but there was another person in the room with her. They were pretty strong too.
-Who could that be..- Just by probing with my aura, I figured out that it was a short elf woman, but she noticed my aura since I wasn't restraining it by accident.
Finally making it to her office, I reached for the door knob.
*BOOM*
