《The Dragon of Dreams》Chapter 84: Size Doesnt Always Determine Strength

Early Morning - Late Spring : Kingdom of Zan
The light faded away revealing my new intimidating 29 meter tall dragon form.
The halfies both stopped in their tracks and stared at me with wide eyes.
My eyes were locked on the brown halfie, exuding an extreme bloodlust.
A smile slowly crept onto his face, "In the 400 years I've lived, I've never seen such a black and majestic dragon.. you must be a halfie! Become my subordinate and join us! We will finally break free from the dragon's shackles!" The brown halfie's confidence that he'd win only made me more mad.
I slowly started walking towards him with each step shattering the ground.
I opened up my wings and readied a huge amount of magic, "Don't group me with the likes of you weaklings.."
*PSSHHHH*
A wall of blue flames appeared behind me as I activated my thruster magic and flew forward with ridiculous speed.
When we were about to collide I opened my mouth and clamped down on his neck.
-Got you!-
Without turning off my thrusters, I slammed him into the ground and used his body to level a huge strip of forest.
Once the big bast*rd figured out the situation, he wrapped his tail around my neck to try to choke me and used fire magic in my mouth to try and make me let go.
Paying it no mind, I continued to push him across the ground until I saw a huge rock reaching above the trees.
Changing the directions of the thrusters, I spun and hurled his huge body into the rock.
*BOOM*
But I wouldn't just stand still and let him take a breath after that.
Activating the thrusters again, I put my feet together and slammed into his chest.
*CRUNCH* *BANG*
His chest caved in under the insane force, shattering his ribs and crushing his organs before launching him completely through the rock.
*THUD*
Figuring he was probably dead after the attack, I walked up next to his beat up body.

As I got close, to finish him off, he opened his mouth. "Caught you!"
A huge amount of mana moved within him, creating a ridiculous plume of flames which enveloped my body.
"That's cute, you want to see power?!"
His face paled as he heard my unbothered voice coming from the plume of fire.
My eyes flashed with rage as I looked at him through the flames. -Im going to make you disappear..-
Deep within my chest, I started to move a colossal volume of mana.
I created a small ball of around 5 kilograms of plutonium and uranium and enveloped it in a sphere of tungsten. It was 5 times more than the first time I tested it, but I wanted to make sure this bast*rd didn't even have a corpse left.
I walked up to him and set my foot on his neck.
The glow between my scales and my irises turned yellow as a scorching heat exuded from my body, "THIS.. IS POWER!"
As if a new sun was created, the world turned to day with a clear blue sky.
The heat from the blast turned every tree within a kilometer to dust before the shockwave decimated whatever was left.
The shockwave continued 5 more kilometers killing or deafening any beings in its path.
The wave of destruction continued to travel even farther though, with people in some small towns 50 kilometers away seeing the flash on the horizon and hearing a low rumble from the explosion.
Once the light and dust settled, I noticed I was alone in a molten crater, with the only evidence of the halfie ever existing being a 30 cm wide monster core that was slowly sinking into the molten earth.
After having vented my anger I felt far better and was much more calm and collected like usual. I lowered my head and picked up the core with my mouth, -Don't mind if I do!-

After it was in my mouth though, I made a face of disgust.
The core tasted terrible. It was so bitter I had to just swallow it like a pill.
"Blegh.." -I need something to wash out my mouth..- I stuck my tongue out and licked the molten earth to try and taste literally anything else.
The core was simply not worth it, even though it was big and contained quite a good bit of mana, compared to my reserve or what I just spent to make that explosion, it was literally a drop in a lake.
After I started coming back to my senses, I realized something serious.
-WHAT ABOUT ILIOS?!- In a panic, I sprang out of the hole and scanned the area.
Around a kilometer away I saw a long tree standing, with Ilios sitting in front of it.
On the other side of the tree was the bloodied and burnt body of the other halfie.
I quickly flew over, doing my best to regulate the temperature around me to not burn him.
"Phew.. Thank goodness you're alright.." Seeing my relief, Ilios went to lick my face to celebrate. "WAIT!"
I quickly pulled my head away before he could lick me because my body was still ridiculously hot. My scales were hot to the point that the dirt I was walking on would go from burnt to molten when I stepped on it.
Ilios just stared at me with his tongue hanging out before walking out to me. He was walking through molten dirt, the magma wrapping around his paws but the fur wasn't burning nor was he in any kind of pain.
He walked out and sat down in the magma in front of me.
"Haah.. I guess you're no longer a puppy huh.." I was still so used to Ilios being a small and weak puppy that I would always worry about him, but after my last dragon sleep, he had grown so much and gotten so much stronger.
Ilios was sitting there looking up at me with his tail wagging, throwing around some molten material.
"Aww you're so cuteee!!!" I lowered my head and rubbed it against him after being sure to cool it some as precaution, but before I could actually start playing with him, I heard something.
"Ugh.." The halfie that was in Ilios's bubble of protection let out a groan.
"You're alive?!" I didn't have a grudge with this halfie like I did with the leader, so it being alive didn't change a whole lot. I walked over to its mutilated and burnt body, "Since you're alive I have a question. If you give me the answer I'm looking for, I'll let you live.. maybe."
Although most of its tail had been unrecognizably burnt, most of its body was still intact and could heal given enough time.
He looked up at me with a fear filled pale face and quickly nodded.
"Alright, now tell me, is the tower the one funding the rebellion?"
"..." He simply gave me a blank surprised stare after I asked.
Seeing that he wasn't wanting to respond, I slowly raised my foot over his head for a little extra 'encouragement'.
"YES! YES THEY ARE! PLEASE SPARE ME!" He closed his eyes and braced for my foot to crush him.
-Oh, someone who actually knows something..- It was truly both a pleasant surprise and extremely convenient that the only living person actually had some information.
I looked down at the halfie and simply wondered what to do with him.
-I guess I could bring him back to Kaelallan..- But before I could settle on what to do, I looked up in the sky and saw a large silver dragon, -it’s father!-

That being the case, The High council, leaders of Verun, had made the necessary preparations to handle threats and attempt diplomacy between the remaining opposers. Talented volunteers were hand chosen to be among the military, tasked with protecting the nation from both internal and external threats.
