《Old Terran Soul》Chapter 35: The duel. Part 3.

Tai'Tanu was angry. She had been hurt more in this fight than she had been in the last 20 years collectively. The Terran had been a surprisingly skilled opponent. To her knowledge most Terran's favored ranged combat and martial prowess in melee combat was all but non existent. Yet, This infuriating Terran not only refused to die, but had managed to fight her to a stand off.
As she looked over the Terran, trying to catch her breath after her temper fueled assault that left him without his shield, she noticed a change in his posture and breathing. He was breathing in ragged, guttural breaths, almost animalistic sounding. His posture had changed from that of a warrior's disciplined stance to that of an animal on the hunt.
His arms hanging down by his sides, weapons still cluthced firmly in his hands, but his eyes fixated on her. Those eyes. Devoid of emotion and thought, Filled only with a murderous instinct to kill anything that fell under their gaze. "Good, he has lost control." She thought to herself. He was still hurt, which should slow him down even more when he was not in control of himself.
So it came as a great surprise when Eirik launched himself at her as if he had never been hit. Eyes bulging and with a primal scream he came at her with a fury she had never, in her wildest dreams, expected from a Terran. With a broken arm, all she could do was dodge and weave as he launched a flurry of blows with astonishing speed. Each attack leading him into the next, no movement wasted or overdone.
This was not a regular rage. This was something more, something that made his able to fight like a warrior, but with the rage of a true psycopath.
During a moment of respite the truth hit her like the axe blow from earlier that had broken her arm. "That drink before their ritual!! I must survive and aquire that drink!!!!" she thought before she had to return to avoiding his blows. How he had not collapsed from exhaustion was another mystery to her. Despite entering the second minute of his insane attack, he showed no signs of slowing down. In fact, judging from the way she was having to use he armor to deflect rather than evade his attacks, he was speeding up.

Tai'Tanu was gasping for breath at this point. She only had energy to focus on the next incoming attack. "This cannot be!! I cannot be defeated!!" she thought desperately as the devastating blows from the Terran finally started wearing down her defences. Suddenly she felt a wall in her back and made a desperate dive to the side to avoid the incoming blow. She was fast, but not fast enough. With a loud *thunk* and a scream from Tai'Tanu, 5 centimeters of her tail tip was left on the ground.
The last attack was enough to throw Eirik off balance and with the pain fueling her body with rage, Tai'Tanu forgot all sense of proper fighting and jumped on his back, clawing, kicking and biting while screaming like a hatchling fighting a sibling. Eirik tried to shake off the enraged alien but despite only having one functioning arm, she was impossible to get loose.
In desperation he started slamming his back against the wall next to him in the hopes of dislodging her. When that failed as well, he spun around and jumped backwards as high as he could. Landing on his back he finally felt her grip relent as the air got knocked out of her. As he scrambled to get up, he drew his second axe, the knife and the other axe dropped when she got on his back. Somewhere deep beneath his drug fueled rage he was dimly aware that this was his last weapon.
As he got up the extent of the damage he sustained became visible. the chainmail on his back and shoulders hang in tatters, deep wounds bleeding in several places. His upper shield arm had taken a nasty bite, only in one piece on account of the chainmail. His helmet had come off as he jumped on his back and a thin line of blood has run from his mouth, indicating some form of internal damage. As he lifted his axe to attack Tai'Tanu, his legs were swept away under him as she used her wounded tail to attack low.

He landed with a grunt and quickly lifted his left arm to block the tail that came slamming down. His arm was lowered significantly at the moment of impact, but he managed to keep the attack at bay. Rolling away he managed to get into a kneeling position before an armored claw was viciously dragged across chest, ripping the chainmail open and leaving deep wounds.
Howling with rage Eirik jumped towards Tai'Tanu and kicked out with both feet, hitting her arms as she attempted to block an attack with his full weight behind it. It was, of course, a futile endeavor, but the block did take the worst out of it and she was still standing afterwards, even though she had been forced back several meters.
There they were. Both covered in a mix of their own and the other's blood, both gasping for breath, neither willing to give in. As they stared each other down, he coughed up a bit of blood, spitting it out on the ground. She was the first to move forward. She wanted this fight to be over with.
The Terran looked ready to keel over. Bleeding profusely from several wounds and struggling to breathe, his eyes had lost a lot of the fire they had posessed during the fight.
Then she heard the Terran soldier's
Down from the sky.
Into the fight.
Hearts full of raaage
Full of thunder and glory.
Swords in the wind
Crossing the sky
Lords of Doom
Bring and end to this story.
Today is the day
We die in the fight
None shall remain
To pass one more night
NOW VALHALLA'S CALLING US IMMORTAL
Tai'Tanu whirled her head back to Eirik, as he had shouted along on the last line of their song. His eyes were blazing again, but not with fury. It was a look she had never seen before and one she would never forget for the rest of her life.
As if completely rejuvenated, The Terran once again Sprinted towards her. She was too hurt, too exhausted, to evade. He tackled her violently, ending up in a sitting position over her. She saw him lift his axe to finish it. But the strike never fell.
Eirik was ready to kill her. She was pinned under him and he was ready to deal the killing blow. Thats when a massive force hit him hard on the already injured shield arm flinging him off of Tai'Tanu. As he looked over, he saw one of her guards gnawing on his mail covered arm.
"NOW!! ATTACK NOW!!" Tai'Tanu screamed as she dragged herself away from Eirik.
The realisation that she was fleeing an honor duel made Eirik's mind go red again. with a roar he used his free hand to push his thumb into the eye of the guard biting his arm and as the guard screamed in pain he lifted his hand, his last axe lost during the tumble, and struck a terrible blow to the guards head. Pressed as it was against the sand, there was no respite from the force of his attack and a loud *crunch* told everyone in earshot the skull of the guard had been chrushed in that blow.
The other Kloxna guards were making their way down the walls, but seemed more interested in getting Tai'Tanu away than engaging him.
"OATH BREAKER!! HONORLESS WORM!! TRAITOROUS COWARD!!!" Yelling curses at his fleeing opponent, Eirik turned towards the guards blocking his way and snarled in anger.
