CHAPTER 142. Halbor
"Found it, Master. The one who registered was an Alpha Chosen from Falud Trial Zone Team, the one that was ranked 100th in Round-1."
After hearing MJ's intel, Jay instructed MJ to navigate him to that Trial Zone Team's Rest House.
He then called out to Min-soo, who was excitedly watching the less valuable Spirit Items he registered into one by one vanish into thin air.
"If you are trying to understand the space elemental configuration behind the disappearance of those Spirit Items in your hand, then don't bother trying. You need to have at least Stage-7 to do that."
Min-soo let out a dry laugh after finding it was impossible to see through the inner workings of the Space Law used in with just his Stage-3 Mastery.
Jay paused for a second before asking him, "Weren't you working on creating Warp Technology? How is your progress?"
Ever since Jay saved Min-soo from certain death, he had admired Jay from the bottom of his heart. Min-soo didn't know why Jay asked him about that but before replying, he looked at Bandon for affirmation.
After all, the funding for his research was provided by the USA Government.
When Jay asked Min-soo if he was working on Warp Technology, Brandon right away understood that he was testing Min-soo.
For Brandon, it wasn't hard to guess that since he was aware that Jay had MJ maintain surveillance over all of them.
Brandon suspected that it was most likely that Jay already knew the fruits of Warp Technology research, and if Min-soo lied or didn't reveal about his research progress, Jay might not bother assisting them or would keep them out of the loop in the important intel that only Jay knew of.
So, he nodded at Min-soo, giving his permission. With that, Min-soo answered Jay.
"Yes, Mr Jay. I indeed am working on that. Matter of fact, due to my comprehension of the space element, I recently made a crucial breakthrough in my research on Warp Technology. But the only limiting factor that's preventing my research from its completion were the materials that were compatible with the space element."
Seeing Min-soo being open about the results of his research without hiding anything, Jay decided to give him an opportunity.
"Follow me. I will take you to someone who could help you with that."
Min-soo's eyes lit up at those words, and nodded vigorously before following behind Jay as he exited the 'Rest House 001'.
As for Olivia, she caught onto the conversation between Jay and Min-soo about Warp Technology.
It was understandable why Brandon chose to keep that research a secret from her. After all, they were basically separate groups even if they were all from the Earth.

She knew that only because of Jay did their two groups unite and work well together without even a minor conflict.
Nonetheless, Olivia was glad that Jay was not someone who was power-hungry to cruelly subdue and control them against their will even when he had the power to do so.
Among the Earth's Alpha Chosen, she knew the best about how terrifying Jay's power was.
Just the fact that Jay could create an army comprising 10 Omega-Chosen, 100 Grade-9 and 1000 Grade-8 Innate Talent users made him a force to be reckoned with.
With a sigh, Olivia returned to shuffling through the Spirit Items in to see if there were any useful ones to her.
Meanwhile, Jay and Min-soo were on their way to the 'Rest House 100', which was allotted for the Falud Trial Zone Team.
Before long, they both reached their destination, where there was a commotion taking place out in the open with a crowd of Alpha Chosen spectating it.
Jay and Min-soo passed through the crowd that blocked their view to find what was happening there.
"Please, I beg you, give me the promised Grade-3 Vitality Fruit. Didn't I already hand over the only pair of teleportation devices I created?" A 3-meters tall Rock giant pleaded as he knelt before a group of 5 Alpha Chosen that looked like Werewolves of Earth's folklore.
It wouldn't be apt to call him a Rock Giant since his body wasn't entirely composed of rocks but only the outer shell of the body, more like an exoskeleton that covers the whole body.
Through the gaps of that rock exoskeleton that highlighted his bulky physique, a mix of red and orange glow could be seen past his thick layer of transparent skin.
That glow was from the magma-like volatile fluid in his body, which was like blood to the human body.
Other than his size and body composition, his overall features were rather similar to that of a human.
Jay used the Rare Grade skill , which recently upgraded from the Uncommon Grade skill .
[Lv.26 Rock Magmoid (Tier-3): Halbor]
As for the five Werewolves that had arrogance written all over their faces, they were 2 meters tall with lean muscular builds, grey fur and ragged clothes.
[Lv.29 Lycanthrope (Tier-3): Raul]
[Lv.27 Lycanthrope (Tier-3): Remus]
[Lv.26 Lycanthrope (Tier-3): Rodyn]
[Lv.23 Lycanthrope (Tier-2): Reinald]
[Lv.23 Lycanthrope (Tier-2): Roth]
{For a better picturisation of Halbor and the Werewolves I would suggest you guys scroll down to find the pic link in this chapter's author note before continuing from where you left off.}
Raul, the Lycanthrope that stood in the lead, smirked at Halbor's desperation and took out a dry skin scroll in one hand and the Grade-3 Vitality Fruit in another hand.

"Of course, I won't be going back on my promise, but I am making a slight change to it. You can have this Vitality Fruit as long as you sign this contract."
That Lycanthrope then threw the contract scroll in front of the kneeling Halbor.
He picked up the scroll and went through the contents of the contract before fuming in anger, "This…..This is basically a slave contract!!!"
"You can choose not to sign the contract if you are confident in finding another Grade-3 Vitality Fruit by the end of the day. But now that you don't have those teleportation devices with you, I highly doubt anyone would trade such a valuable Fruit with you." Remus, the other Tier-3 Lycanthrope in that group, snickered.
Halbor's anger soon turned into despair after hearing that.
He thought of fighting back, but against three Tier-3 opponents, he had no chance. Although Halbor himself was a Tier-3 individual, his Innate Talent was not suitable for combat.
If he relied on the Spirit Equipment that he crafted for himself, he could put up a fight, but his body condition was unstable at that moment.
Because of that, Halbor knew that fighting them was out of option for him.
Moreover, the ones who he was facing were of the Trial Zone Team that was ranked 7th in Round-1.
Whereas his own Trial Zone Team was at 100th position and none of his planet's fellow Alpha Chosen were even at Tier-3.
At that point, he felt like he had no choice but to comply with them. He reluctantly picked up the feather quill that was attached on top of the sheepskin scroll to sign the contract.
Meanwhile, Jay was watching all that from the sidelines. A few seconds into their conversation alone gave a rough understanding of the situation.
One thing was clear to Jay. It was that the Alpha Chosen he was looking for was the rock-like giant, Halbor.
Jay didn't give another look at the Lycanthropes and instead focussed on the contract scroll. Coming across it in the Trial Program came as quite a surprise to him.
Because contract scrolls could only be brought from the System's Achievement Point Store, which will be available after the end of a Trial Program.
Jay didn't know how the Lycanthropes got their hands on a contract scroll but was interested to find out.
He didn't focus on that matter anymore and turned his attention to Halbor.
Unlike the previous time that Jay used to see an overview of the Level and Species name of Halbor, this time he used it to find more detailed information about him.

With being a Grade-3 skill, a grade higher than the information-type skill Halbor possessed, Jay was able to completely see through the other party's .
After going through that, it became clear to Jay why Halbor was desperate for a Grade-3 Vitality Fruit.
MJ chimed in Jay's mind, "Master, his body seems to function purely on a Fire elemental source, but there are concentrated amounts of ice element contaminating his body, acting as a poison.
The detoxifying properties of Grade-3 Vitality Fruit could help recover from Frost Permeation, but Halbor's condition right now has deteriorated to a point he needs at least 10 Grade-3 Vitality Fruits. At the current rate, he only has 28 hours left."
With the resources in Jay's possession, even disposing of 10 Grade-3 Vitality Fruits was a small matter to him, much less using them to save someone who could create Teleportation devices at just Tier-3.
Jay then strolled towards Harold, who was about to sign the contract. The crowd's attention then shifted to him and their noise buzzed upon watching someone daring enough to intervene.
Not just the crowd but the Lycanthropes also noticed Jay's actions. Raul, the strongest one among them, barked at Jay who was halfway through reaching Halbor.
"You there, if you take one more step forward, you will be making the Ragath Trial Zone Team as your enemy. Step ahead if you have the guts to cross swords with us."
Watching Jay halt in his tracks after that warning, Raul scoffed at him, "Hmph, That's what I thoug....Hiik"
But before that Lycanthrope could finish the sentence, he barely heard the words 'Isolated Suction' and his body was forcibly pulled towards Jay by an invisible force.
In the next moment, the crowd let out a series of gasps as they looked at Raul, a powerful Tier-3 individual being grabbed by his neck and suffocating under the palm grab of a random Alpha Chosen.
Jay then nonchalantly turned his head to the left and said to the whimpering Lycanthrope, "I didn't catch you the first time, you were saying?"
