CHAPTER 134. Trial Regional Tournament (Round 1) - [Part-5]
8 minutes ago, when Jay entered the Reality Emulator, a Lv.3 Goblin materialised within the Augmented Space he was in.
Although the Goblin in front of him was a simulation, it looked so lifelike that anyone could barely distinguish it from a real monster.
Even if the 3rd Prince didn't mention that everything else in the Augmented Space is virtual, Jay would have seen through it using the . After all, those monster simulations don't have soul in them.
Just before entering the Reality Emulator, Jay used to limit 5 Strength Attribute stats so that all five of his Attributes would have the same amount of stats.
With his Spirit Attribute being at 198 stats, his perception of time was 19.8 times higher than a normal person, meaning that he could experience every second as if it was 19.8 seconds.
Since his other four Attributes also had the same amount of stats, he began to experience True Time Perception, where he could passively perceive time as if it was moving 19.8 times slower than the standard measurement.
Those that don't have the same amount of stats in each of the 5 Attributes, could only use False Time Perception, where maintaining the increased time perception state came with increased mental exhaustion.
As the True Time Perception would be beneficial to Jay in clearing the difficulty levels as fast as possible, he didn't mind limiting his Strength Attribute to match the other Attributes.
Moreover, doing that also activated the skill , bringing perfect control over his Attribute stats and at the same time, the skill's effect began to suppress his emotions.
Under the influence of True Time perception, Jay was even able to sense his emotions gradually grow distant and the three-second countdown seemed as if it was frozen along with the Tier-1 Low-Phase monster standing near him.
Meanwhile, looking at the Lv.3 Goblin made him think back to when he was first teleported to the Trial World. After all, the first monster he encountered was a Goblin.
In just a few days, he had grown from cautiously surviving to roaming unhindered within any Trial Zone.
However, Jay's resolve to become stronger than anyone else remained the same ever since he visited his comatosed grandfather on Day-1's rest period.
One such step to reach that goal was to have Earth's Trial Zone score highest among the Trial Regional Tournaments that were simultaneously taking place in the Trial World and receive bountiful rewards from that.
Seeing that there was a quarter of a second left in the countdown, which was equivalent to 5 seconds for him, Jay pinched in both his right-hand forefinger and thumb as a violet ball of energy the size of a marble at the junction of those fingers.

Once the countdown ended, he flicked it at the Goblin and before the monster could react there was a marble-sized hole in its head, instantly killing it.
Even before a second could pass in the first difficulty level, Jay already entered the next one and a Tier-1 Mid-Phase monster manifested as another three-second countdown began.
Just like the previous monster, it died under the skill, which Jay came up with during the Day-9 rest period so that it could be used with minimal Spirit Energy expenditure.
This continued till Jay crossed the 9th difficulty level and all of that took just 36 seconds, including the three-second countdown in each difficulty level.
Meaning that Jay took care of each monster in less than a second.
Till the 6th difficulty level, Jay used to one shot each monster but from 7th to 9th difficulty levels, Jay personally swung his sword at them, slicing each of them in two.
Unlike in the previous two difficulty levels, Jay used and in the 9th difficulty level.
After all, the monster in there was an Lv.50 Orc, a peak Tier-3 monster.
He could have killed it even without using those, but in order to clear the 9th difficulty level in the shortest time possible, Jay didn't mind expending a small portion of his Spirit Energy.
Since Jay wasn't ranked 1st in Earth's Alpha Chosen due to only being at Lv.25, he wasn't shown in one of the 100 screens in the Colosseum. If not, his performance would have undoubtedly caught everyone's eyes.
Jay right away entered the 10th difficulty level and a random monster was generated. Unlike the massive sizes of Tier-3 monsters, the Tier-4 Low-Phase monster facing him was just two meters tall.
Despite having a humanoid physique, it crouched on all fours like an animal. Including its long tail and skinny skeletal wings, its body was covered in stony hide and the grotesque face with short horns over its forehead only made it look more hideous.
In Augmented Space, he doesn't have to use as he could see the monster's name, level and emulated health bar floating on top of its head.
[Lv.66 Arch Gargoyle, Emulated Health Bar - 100%]
{Author Note: For a better picturisation of the Arch Gargoyle, I would suggest you guys scroll down to find the pic link in this chapter's author note before continuing where you left off.}
In each difficulty level, the monster everyone faced was at the peak of their respective Tier and Phase. So, at Tier-4 Low-Phase (Lv.51 to Lv.66), the randomly generated monster was at Lv.66.
A Tier-3 High-Phase monster at its peak would have around 800 overall stats but just after it evolves to Tier-4, it would have around 1200 overall stats.
Just that alone was enough to show the vast difference between Tier-3 and Tier-4.
Moreover, the Arch Gargoyle was at Lv.66, where each level up from Lv.51 gives 20 undistributed stats.
With that in mind, it was safe to say that the Arch Gargoyle had a little more than 1500 overall stats and that was 500 stats more than what Jay possessed.
As if that was not enough, the Arch Gargoyle had command over a Major Mastery, making it even more difficult to defeat.
Still, Jay didn't give up and charged his with Thunder Flame element on top of the Stage-3 as the three-second cooldown trickled.
During the countdown, the monster's movements would be restricted and at the same time, any Alpha Chosen couldn't attack it during then due to the invisible barrier covering them.
In the previous batches, there were a few that tried to take advantage of the countdown but failed miserably.
Jay didn't make that mistake and used those 3 seconds in preparing himself to launch a pre-emptive attack on the Arch Gargoyle.
With the Stage-3 and Thunder Flame element, shone with a mix of dark-blue and violet hue.
Jay did his best to charge up and integrate the Thunder Flame element with Stage-3 to make his attack as strong as possible.
Their combination was not stable and began to deteriorate the sword's durability, albeit at a slow pace.
Jay didn't worry about that since he could have it restored as long as 's durability doesn't fall to zero.
As soon as the countdown ended, Jay shot that combined attack in the form of a curved blade projectile at the Arch Gargoyle's head.
Despite the attack's zapping speed, the monster still managed to move its body from fatal damage but a portion of its left-wing took the hit, blasting it apart in the process.
Other than crippling the monster's ability to fly, that attack aggravated it, even more, causing it to attack in a flurry.
With a little over 300 stats in Strength and Agility Attributes, its movement speed was nothing to scoff at.
Despite using to move at 200 metres per second, Jay barely managed to dodge its sharp claws.
With each of his 5 Attributes being at least 100 stats lower than the Arch Gargoyle, Jay could forget attacking it head-on.
Jay's only chance to defeat it lay in using the heavy attack power of the Thunder Flame element.
In the 10th difficulty level, the Augmented Space expanded to an area of 1km x 1km x 1km, leaving enough room to manoeuvre but due to the lack of suitable terrain in the seemingly endless white Augmented Space, Jay didn't have the chance to bring out the full potential of .
Because of that, even when Jay tried his best to evade, he still received a few of Arch Gargoyle's physical attacks, which sent him flying across the limited Augmented Space to be crashed into its white wall.
Even with the sturdy defence of 's full body armour form, the Arch Gargoyle's attacks still chipped away a small portion of Jay's health.
It was not his actual Health but the extra Health Bar given in the Augmented Space to emulate his real Health and once it dropped to zero, that would be considered as failing the 10th difficulty level and he would be sent out of the Reality Emulator.
With having to continuously dodge using , Jay expended almost half of his Spirit Energy in just a minute since the fight began.
Jay tried using Thunder Flame to attack but as a monster with little more than 300 stats in all five Attributes, its Time Perception was high enough to see through Jay's attacks and managed to dodge them successfully.
This continued for another minute and Jay almost emptied his Spirit Energy reserve and his Health Bar dropped to 40%.
With his current stats, Jay suspected that he couldn't defeat the Arch Gargoyle unless he entered mode.
However, he only had a single chance left to use mode before it became temporarily unavailable until he breaks past the 1st Universe Limit.
Jay felt it was unwise to use that last chance unless it's a life-threatening situation. So, instead of using that, Jay used 's inbuilt skill to refill his Spirit Energy reserve and proceeded to activate a skill that he hadn't ever used before.

Dragon: Birth of an Ancient
Deep in a secluded forest, within the depths of a long forgotten cave, an unnatural silence that has reigned for little over a million years is shattered as a hatchling takes its first breath. To the various species that called this world, one of seven, home, the matter seemed beyond insignificant. The hatchling, like all monsters, had no divine backing and with its age, could only be considered a lesser existence. A being to be used by the Chosen and noble monster bloodlines in their never-ending pursuit of power, fame and immortality. However, how could any of the short-lived races, Chosen and Monster alike, know that the tiny, weak, lizard-like creature was much more than it seemed. That it was an entity only spoken of in myth and legend. From a species that their ancestors, with the backing of the Gods, paid a huge price to remove. A heretical existence that threatened the fragile peace that had descended upon their world. A Dragon. ==== ** Cover done by the amazing Felix!*** I am writing this story for a friend who is currently in hospital and in a very precarious situation. He gave me the plot/ concept and, after my own health issues, I wanted to try and brighten his day and provide a distraction from the monotony of their hospital stay. I am posting it on RRL mainly in case anyone else can find enjoyment from the story and to show the readers of my other stories that I am not permanently MIA (and will 100% return to those stories in the future).
