CHAPTER 130: Trial Regional Tournament (Round 1) [Part-I]
"Let me start by stating that the tournament will comprise of three rounds with each one evaluating various aspects of your strength. But, all of them are in one way or other are team-based ones, where Alpha Chosen from each trial zone represents a team.
Essentially, there should be 1000 teams since 1000 Trial Zones are participating in this Tournament, But there are 24 trial zones that don't have any surviving Alpha Chosen in them, and as a result, there are only 976 teams present right now.
Out of these 976, only 10 trial zone teams will come out as winners by the end of the Tournament will be qualified to participate in the Trial Continental Tournament that will take place on Day-20. Other than that, bountiful rewards will be given according to the respective ranks given in the final evaluation.
Keep in mind that there will be no bargaining if the results of the tournament don't come out as you planned. After all, the evaluation is directly done by the System.
About the first round of the Tournament, it will be a Mass Elimination Round, where only 100 trial zones with the highest evaluation scores will be qualified for the Second Round.
Now then, everyone open your Status Windows and you all will find a section at the bottom saying 'Trial Regional Tournament'. There you all find the allotted number to your team and individual numbers to every one of you."
Everyone in the crowd listened attentively to the explanation given by the 3rd Prince without as much as little noise.
Even though the Tier-4 Suppression he used didn't apply suffocating pressure on anyone, it was made clear that the difference in power was as wide as a chasm.
With that, not even the usually arrogant and gutsy ones among the Alpha Chosen dared to question the Tournament manager's authority.
By the end of the 3rd Prince's briefing, everyone opened their Status Windows and just like what he said, there was a brand new section at the bottom.
Jay did the same as everyone and clicked on the new Section'.

_______________
Other than Team Allocation, each individual in every team were given numbers according to their Level.
The numbers, [777, 10/11] visibly floated on top of Jay's head, indicating that he was ranked 10th among a total of 11 Alpha Chosen in Trial Zone Team number 777.
It wasn't just him but every other Alpha Chosen in the Tournament had a similar situation.
Besides the First Round, any specifics regarding the other two Rounds was not yet available.
As for the functions, 'Exchange Market' and 'Rest House', they were shown to be locked. But with having a Soul A.I like MJ, Jay has long learned about them before even the Tournament began.
Not long after, 3rd Prince's voice once again resounded within the vast Colosseum walls, "Alright, now that everyone found your respective Trial Zone Team numbers, let's begin the First Round of the Tournament.
Everyone except for the first 100 Teams leave the podium ground and go to the Colosseum's seating area."
Since the Earth's Trial Zone wasn't among the Teams '1 to 100', they left to the Colosseum's seating area, which can hold 200,000 spectators if they were seated close enough.
As the Alpha Chosen in the Tournament didn't even exceed 10,000, the seating area was more than enough.
Min-soo teleported himself to the front row seats and reserved the spot for Earth's Alpha Chosen.
Once they settled down there, a group of Alpha Chosen rushed for the spot beside Earth's Alpha Chosen.
Other than Jay and Dante, everyone else curiously looked at the pale blue-skinned tall humanoids that sat beside them.

To their confusion, one of the pale blue-skinned humanoids reached them and knelt before saying joyously, "I have finally found you, My Liege."
The Earth's Alpha Chosen were surprised by this new revelation when they traced back the newcomer's line of sight to Jay.
Jay waved his hand, "Akor, No need to kneel every time you see me. Rise."
Only then did Akor stand up. While sitting beside Jay, Dante casually greeted, "Akor, It's just been less than 24 hours since we last saw each other and you are making it sound like a long time."
Akor laughed embarrassedly and returned the greeting, "Nice seeing you again, Sir Dante."
He then looked at everyone else and spoke excitedly, "It's an honour for me to meet the great Earth's Alpha Chosen. I will etch this occasion deep in my memory."
Henry couldn't help but blurt, "Why do I feel like I am in some kind of Medival Age play?"
Dante then briefly explained to the other Earth's Alpha Chosen about how Jay met Akor when they travelled to other Trial Zones and also mentioned why Jay allowed Akor to follow him.
The Earth's Alpha Chosen found it disbelieving that the one standing beside then was able to reach Stage-4 Mastery when he was just at Tier-2.
Now that he was at Tier-3 Low-Phase, his attack power could even rival that of a Tier-3 High Phase monster.
Above Akor's head floated [620, 1/9] indicating that he was the highest levelled one among the 9 Alpha Chosen from his Trial Zone, exceeding the Sea Lord of their race, Aton.
Meanwhile, the remaining Atlans who occupied the seating spots beside them were looking at the Earth's Alpha Chosen with reverence.
They have personally experienced the overwhelming power of Jay and now watching the same person ranked 10th among the Earth's Alpha Chosen stumped their minds.
In their view, there are 9 more who are even stronger than Jay in the same team, bringing their image of Earth's Trial Zone Team to another level.
Jay saw through their thoughts but didn't correct the Atlans. Only Akor knew that Jay is the strongest one of them all.
While this was happening, the Alpha Chosen from the Trial Zones 1 to 100, spread out on the podium ground according to the 3rd prince's instructions.
Once that was settled, the 3rd Prince opened his Status Window and initiated something, causing grey-coloured cuboids to appear in front of each Alpha Chosen on the podium ground. Each of those cuboids has dimensions of 3 x 3 x 6 (l, b, h) meters.
Whether it was the Spectators or those on the podium ground, everyone's attention was on those strange cuboids that appeared out of nowhere.
It was then the 3rd Prince words shed light on everyone's doubts, "These 'Reality Emulators' are provided by the System to every Tournament Manager for a limited period.
Upon entering them, each of you will find yourself in a separate independent space, where Virtuality meets with Reality. Everything you see there will be virtual other than yourself. It might sound confusing but once you enter them everything will become clear to you.
For the First Round, each of you will be facing monsters one on one and every time one kills a monster in the 'Reality Emulators', they will be awarded points respective to the Tier and Phase of the monsters slayed. Do note that there will not be any individual scores as the scores will be evaluated for an entire Team."
After saying that, the 3rd Prince said some strange voice commands, and a large hologram appeared above the podium ground, "This here is the list of Points that will be awarded depending on the strength of the monster you face."
_____________
Tier-1 Low-Phase Monster = 10 Points
Tier-1 Mid-Phase Monster = 25 Points
Tier-1 High-Phase Monster = 50 Points
Tier-2 Low-Phase Monster = 100 Points
Tier-2 Mid-Phase Monster = 250 Points
Tier-2 High-Phase Monster = 500 Points
Tier-3 Low-Phase Monster = 1000 Points
Tier-3 Mid-Phase Monster = 2500 Points
Tier-3 High-Phase Monster = 5000 Points
_____________
After everyone took a look at that, the 3rd Prince announced the start of the Round-1 and the hundreds of Alpha Chosen on the podium ground simultaneously entered their respective Reality Emulators.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
