CHAPTER 120. Final Assessment {(Part-3) out of 3}

It's already been a few minutes since the spar commenced, but Olivia still didn't have the upper hand despite having nearly double that of Jay's overall stats.

Mainly because Jay has access to every ability that Olivia could use and knows their ins and outs, it wasn't hard for him to counter them without even having to use Lightning Flame on her.

After witnessing the breathtaking speed and power of those flames from the earlier fight, Olivia decided it's best not to close upon him and use ranged attacks so that she could have a better chance at evading when he uses Lightning Flame to attack.

She then thought to herself, 'It looks like controlling various weapons telekinetically against him was not enough. To defeat him at this range, I have no choice but to use that.'

Then, a light-golden butterfly tattoo surfaced over the back of her left palm.

Soon, that tattoo glowed and a butterfly-shaped blade manifested into reality from it, and that single blade continued to split until 25 similar looking blades were floating around Olivia.

Just from the way her tattoo turned into a weapon, Jay could tell that it was a Growth type Spirit Equipment, just like his .

Jay knew that she must have gained a Universe Level achievement upon becoming an Omega Chosen. Still, he didn't expect Olivia to be so lucky to obtain a Growth-type Spirit Weapon as a reward.

Till then, Jay wasn't aware of that because he couldn't see through her thoughts or memories without having Olivia realise that he is prying on her.

Since he promised not to control Olivia's actions or order her around, Jay didn't invade her privacy.

The that Olivia brought out was a Spirit Weapon that perfectly matches her innate talent's telekinetic abilities.

It's not surprising that Olivia received such a perfectly suited weapon since the Universe Level Achievement reward would be assigned to match the achiever's requirements.

The name 'Thousand Butterfly Blade' was due to its ability to split into thousand blades, with every single blade possessing the power of launching the user's base attack power with each attack.

For now, Olivia could only bring out 25 blades to control since the was still in Uncommon Grade.

Unlike Jay, who had Dante gathering the exact set of Spirit items to upgrade the using his Fate Stats, Olivia didn't have someone like that to upgrade her Growth type Spirit Weapon.

Nevertheless, those 25 blades were not to be looked down upon as they began to trouble Jay upon being attacked by them.

Due to Jay being only able to use 50% 0f his abilities, he could only use half of Olivia's telekinesis ability to deflect some of those blades and had to use the skill to control and block the remaining butterfly blades.

Despite being just at Uncommon Grade, those blades were so powerful and sharp-edged that their every five attacks dropped the durability of by a point.

At that rate, it wouldn't take long before that sword gets scrapped. However, Jay didn't care about that since it was just a virtual projection of the real and nothing that happens in the Virtual Space obviously would affect the reality.

Before the sword deteriorated into scraps, Jay managed to prepare a large net of Lightning Flames surrounding him, using nearly half his Spirit Energy reserves to keep those blades at bay.

Still, Jay didn't have the advantage he previously had as he was caught up in defending himself against the series of attacks from butterfly blades without having any room to launch attacks on Olivia.

With Olivia bringing out the , the events took a turn, with Jay at a disadvantage.

It didn't take long before Jay used up almost all of his Spirit Energy reserves, leaving him vulnerable.

Olivia didn't let her guard down and intended to directly finish off Jay without giving him a chance to retaliate and used all 25 butterfly blades at once.

Most of the Earth's Alpha Chosen that were spectating had their undivided attention on the ongoing fight and were almost sure that Jay would be the one on the losing end.

Even if Jay's stats, abilities and Spirit Equipment were restricted to 50% of their total capacity, they still found it unbelievable to see him on the verge of losing.

Brandon was a little sceptical about finding Jay in such a position. As someone who fought with Jay to a draw, at least in Stage-3, Brandon had an impression on Jay that he had countless hidden aces in his sleeve.

Even during his last surprise attack in the earlier fight, Brandon saw the confidence in Jay's eyes, confidence that he wouldn't lose.

At present, Brandon could see the same look in his eyes.

Once all the 25 butterfly blades that Olivia shot reached Jay, he didn't try dodging and took them head-on with his suit armour.

Due to the unusual sharpness of those blades and the Centauri Kavach's effectiveness being reduced by 50%, they managed to stab into the suit armour, damaging Jay and effectively taking his Health by a good chunk.

However, those blades weren't able to completely pierce through Jay's armour and stuck halfway through.

Jay then looked directly at Olivia's eyes as if she was his prey, prompting her to realise she had fallen into his trap.

Before she could pull out all those 25 butterfly blades, Jay used his Centauri Kavach's perk to morph the armour in suit form to mould around those blades, holding them together so that she couldn't control them for a while.

At the same time, Jay activated one of Centauri Kavach's inbuilt skills, to refill his reserves. Without even a second delay, he activated on Olivia.

Since Olivia weighs lower than Jay, she is compelled by a strong suction force towards him.

Using her telekinetic abilities, Olivia managed to counter the suction force acting on her.

But, that seemed to be within Jay's estimations as he used that gap to create a compressed spear of Lightning Flames before launching at her.

With that spear attack travelling at breakneck speed, Olivia didn't give enough time to dodge and could only defend using a layer of telekinetic force.

Nevertheless, the Lightning Flame spear attack was so strong that it quickly broke through that layer and hit Olivia on her head, taking every last bit of her Health in a single go.

For a moment, the resting place and the platform were filled with silence, and only the passing winds on the green plain was audible.

Everything happened way too fast, from Jay almost losing the Stage-5 fight to defeating Olivia in just a matter of seconds.

Other than MJ, the one who was less surprised was Min-soo, since he already saw Jay use the skill that lets him recharge his lost Spirit Energy against the clash with the Storm Eagle.

But, he couldn't help but wonder at the terrifying attack power of the Lightning Flame element since all that Jay displayed was just 50% of its full capacity. The other Earth's Alpha Chosen were also thinking the same.

As for Olivia, she stood in a daze as MJ recovered her Health, which turned her transparent body back to normal.

A sense of realisation struck her as she revisited the spar in her memories and found that it was all along Jay's plan to immobilise all her butterfly blades at once by showing that his Spirit Energy was exhausted.

If it was anyone else, Olivia could have seen right through their plan using her Innate Talent ability to read one's thoughts, but Jay was an exception due to the Moon Origin Sigil.

What Olivia didn't know was that Jay didn't use Centauri Kavach's full body armour form. If he had used that, its defence would have been high enough to block the butterfly blades from passing through.

Also, Jay allowed everyone to directly enter the following stages without starting with Stage-1 to maintain the undefeated impression that everyone has over him.

By the end of the third assessment, Olivia and everyone else reassessed Jay to not only possess extraordinary strength but also exceptional battle awareness.

MJ interrupted everyone's thoughts by announcing the results of the third assessment.

Thanks to the Space Innate Talent, Min-soo survived long enough to be ranked next to Sergei.

Soon, MJ displayed a hologram projection of the RPs they received from all three assessments combined.

Soon after that, Jay left the virtual space and resumed his expedition to further trial zones along with Akor and Dante.
