CHAPTER 51: Andrea's Decision [(Part-1) out of 4]
When I was resting after performing surgery, I was teleported to this Trial world and attacked by a bunch of horned rabbits with dark red eyes.
I was terrified by their thirst to kill me and ran away from them, but I accidentally slipped and fell into the nearby small ravine during my escape.
If the ravine weren't shallow, I wouldn't have survived the fall, but still, I was heavily injured.
Even though it was not fatal, it would take at least 3 weeks of rest for me to recover.
But that was also when a bright milky-white light enveloped my injuries, and they began to heal at a visible rate magically.
It continued for a minute, and when I almost had a complete recovery, I was hit by mental exhaustion and soon fell unconscious at a corner of the ravine I fell into.
When I regained my consciousness, the first thing that greeted me was a humanoid dog-faced monster that was just a second away from slashing me with the butcher knife in its hand.
Looking at its blood-red eyes, fear overtook me as I closed my eyes and shrivelled backwards instinctively.
When nothing happened in the next second, I opened my eyes only to find the dog-faced humanoid monster was stabbed in the back by another monster of its own race.
The only difference in the other monster was that its eyes were clear with golden pupils.
Unlike the first monster, the second one didn't try to kill me and instead attacked the other three dog-faced humanoid monsters that were not far away from me.
Even though it was able to kill one of those three monsters, the other two killed the monster that saved me.
Among the two dog-faced humanoid monsters, one had it's eye pupils colour change to golden colour, and then it stabbed the other monster in its neck.
But that was not the end of my shock since the dog-faced humanoid monster with golden eyes killed itself by plunging a dagger in its heart.
Just like that, all the 5 monsters died and then I heard a female voice asking me if I was alright.
I quickly looked around myself to find where the voice originated from and found no one.

Once again, I heard the female voice, and only when I heard it the second time did I realise that the voice only sounded within my mind, "Excuse me for intruding into your mind, to see me, turn to your right and look up across the ravine."
Then I looked in the direction in which the voice pointed out, and 30 meters from me, I found a brunette haired woman in an ivory power suit standing at the edge of the slope above the ravine.
When I looked at her face, I recognised her right away since I saw her in many magazines related to the top 10 richest people in the world and the top 10 most successful entrepreneurs of the generation.
The name 'Olivia Morris' and her biography, where she beats all the odds to become the 5th richest person, inspire every aspiring youth.
I was excited to see her not only because of her identity but mostly because of me finding another human in the monster-infested area.
What stood out from her appearance were her eye pupils that had the same golden colour as the monsters.
But I clearly remember her having natural emerald eyes since my eyes were the same.
Then, her voice sounded in my mind, "Oh, my eyes? They turned golden because of my Innate Talent, and also, thanks to them, I was able to save you and communicate to you through my mind."
I didn't understand what she meant by 'Innate Talent', but I was shocked by the fact that she could read my thoughts, and it was also her who saved me by making the monsters kill each other.
I initially thought everything was a part of my dream. At Least until I felt the pain from falling into the ravine.
Then I thought back to the information in the blue notifications that appeared just before I was teleported.
With that, I began to question myself about the so-called 'Trial Program' and why I was selected as one of the 11 Alpha Chosen.
Then I once again heard Olivia's voice in my mind, "In an unprecedented situation like this, only by accepting the new reality could we have higher chances of survival. It seems like you didn't open your Status. Alright, first we have to leave here; more monsters will be coming here from the smell of those dead monsters."

Hearing her, I stopped questioning myself and cleared my mind.
Later, I found an easy route to climb up the slope with her instructing me and met up with Olivia.
After that, both of us travelled nearly a kilometre, and from time to time, her golden eyes glowed and then she changed the route as if she could see the monsters within a certain range, despite the trees and bushes obstructing the vision.
Without asking her any questions, I followed her, and after some time, she stopped before a dense bush, and after glancing around for a few seconds, she moved the bushes aside, and a hole of 1-meter diameter was visible.
I looked into the hole, and alongside the hole were ladder steps that seemed to be made of earth. Beyond the depth of five meters, everything was dark.
Then, she told me to climb down the hole. I hesitated but eventually did what she told me to do, and soon she followed through the ladder steps after closing the hole opening with those bushes.
Everything went dark, and I could see nothing at all. Suppressing my fear, I got down more than 10 meters and reached the end of the hole.
Following that, her golden eyes glowed within the dark, and she held my hand and walked in a direction.
After crossing another 10 meters, she knocked on a wall in a pattern and then, the wall separated into two halves as they retraced to opposite sides like elevator doors.
Upon crossing it, I found myself in an underground room with dimensions 5 x 5 x 5 meters.
Unlike the darkness in the hidden passage, the underground room was well lit since there were meter tall pillars at the four corners of the room with a fire burning on top of each pillar.
At the centre of the room was a man with massive toned muscles in a white tank top and loose track pants.
He sat on the ground in a meditating position as clumps of ground revolved around him as they varied in shapes.
After we entered the hidden room, the doors closed just like how they opened. Then the man in white tank top opened his eyes, and unlike his intimidating appearance, he smiled brightly at me.
"Hello there, I am Kasim, and just like you, I was saved by Big Sister as well. As for this underground hideout, I made this thanks to my Innate Talent."
When Olivia heard Kasim call her 'Big Sister', her lips twitched, and she hit on the back of his head.
"Aren't you just 2 years younger than me? Why are you calling me 'Big Sister'? It makes me look like I am too old."
Kasim smiled wryly as he rubbed the back of his head.
After that, I asked them what Innate Talents were, and they were puzzled that I didn't know my Innate Talent.
Olivia asked me about the incidents I have been through since I was teleported to the Trial Zone, and I told her everything I knew.
Upon hearing me, Kasim gasped and said that it had been 20 hours since we were teleported to this world.
Only then did I realise that I was unconscious for more than 19 hours.
Then, Olivia told me to look for a letter 'S' on the top right corner of my vision and concentrate on it.
Only then I realise that it was there in the first place. I did as she told me to, and a blue screen floated in front of me.

Yet, life knows to shit on you when things are just getting good. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, author-san here! This is my first story, set up in a fantasy world. It's based on the medieval and steam era where magic is rare and alchemy is used widely used as a weapon by people. There would be lots of action, adventure, betrayal, tragedy, romance, etc. ahead. Warnings-The mc is a bit mean and foul-mouthed, introvert. There would be strong language and lots of monologue narration by the MC. The stories are fast-paced and progressing faster. The chapters update would be unstable, depending on my daily life. You would get fast updates... or slow. Also, English isn't my first language. So don't expect perfect grammar :( P.S. - I would like some constructive critique and feedback! It fills my motivation gauge and increases that rate of chapter/week. (/>3
