CHAPTER 45: Lv.3 [Frenzy] (Uncommon Grade).
Half an hour passed since then and I continued to adjust myself to the Stats that kept on adding periodically to my Attributes in [STATUS].
Then, I was greeted with notifications that brought a broad smile to my face.
MJ killed Lv.11 Rotten Frenzy Dog. 550 Life Energy obtained. With MJ being a part of your soul, you will receive all the Life Energy of the monsters that MJ kills.
But that wasn't the end of the notifications, and what came after caused me to almost jump with excitement.
16 Stats Looted. Choose one of these to loot from the Dead Lv.11 Rotten Frenzy Dog. {1.} Lv.2 [Night Eyes] (Uncommon): Ability to see clearly in the dark, within the range of 200 meters. {2.} Lv.2 [Shear Bite] (Uncommon): Jaw Strength and Teeth Density increases by 20-fold.
{3.} Lv.3 [Frenzy] (Uncommon): To activate this skill, the user needs to choose a lifeform as a target to unleash their inner frenziness. Within that frenzied state, the user's 5 main Attributes get a 13% increment in Stats.
Duration: 3 minutes.
Cost: 13% Stamina
The cause of my excitement was because I discovered that my Innate Talent [LOOT] was automatically activated every time MJ killed a monster.
After that, I communicated with MJ. He was able to function as my personal Soul A.I even when he was in his Battle Form.
It was like MJ was multitasking since he was within the Hobgoblin Shaman's Corpse and in my mind at the same time.
It seemed that while he was scouting the surrounding area; he was attacked by an Lv.11 Rotten Frenzy Dog (Low-Phase Tier-2).
Since MJ's stats were the same as mine, he was as powerful as a Mid-Phase Tier-2 life Form.
Moreover, I gave the [Shaman Fire Staff] to 'Hobgoblin MJ' and through our soul connection, he was able to use the Grade-3[Fire Innate Talent] that I looted from the Hobgoblin Shaman.

'Hobgoblin MJ' was able to use the various fire elemental attacks because when MJ integrated with Hobgoblin Shaman's corpse, he also gained its Fire Mastery along with all of its Skills.
So, 'Hobgoblin MJ' killed the Lv.11 Rotten Frenzy Dog with ease even when that monster used its rather powerful Innate Skill, [Frenzy].
When I read the description of the Skills in the notification, I chose Lv.3 [Frenzy] right away and merged with it.
It was the first Skill I came across that needed a percentage of Stamina instead of a particular amount.
I wanted to know what would happen when I used it when I was in [INVERSE] mode.
But there was still a little less than 3 hours left for Cooldown duration to end.
So, I didn't think much about it and continued training in [Longsword Mastery] after instructing MJ to actively kill any monster he comes across while scouting the surroundings.
9 hours passed since I started training in [Longsword Mastery] and half of the time, I had a smile plastered on my face.
It was due to the occasional notification pop-ups I received from 'Hobgoblin MJ' killing monsters.
Without me even killing any monster, my level increased four levels and reached Lv.24. I even used up the Undistributed Stats I obtained from those 4 level ups.
I added them so that all the Stats in my 5 main Attributes stay in equilibrium.
With that, the Skill [Harmony] automatically activated, and the problem with adjustment to the increased Stats in a short time was no more.
Of course, that would also mean I couldn't feel emotions since I was in the State of Harmony.
There was 3 Undistributed Stats left, and if I wanted to exit the State of Harmony, I could just add it to any of the 5 main Attributes and disrupt their balance.

Then I looked at the congratulatory notifications that floated in front of me as the Sword Aura's colour on the [Steam Wind Sword] turned from cyan to dark blue.
Congratulations! You have advanced to Lv.21 [Sword Aura] by comprehending Lv.21 [Longsword Mastery]. Congratulations! Your [Longsword Mastery] and [Sword Aura] upgraded from Stage-2 to Stage-3. Congratulations! You have gained the Stage-3 Mastery Perk, [Sword Aura Projectile] by reaching Stage-3 [Sword Aura]. Congratulations! Your Achievement Title, [Training Maniac-I] upgraded to [Training Maniac-II].
Only when the notifications of Stage-3 [Sword Aura] appeared did I finally halt the non-stop training that lasted for the past 9 hours.
With my increased Endurance Attribute, I had 475 points in Stamina. So, I was able to last long under such intense training.
But, I was only left with one-eighth of the total Stamina and to recover them; I rested on the sand bed and took out the three [Lesser Stamina Fruits] I had in the storage space.
While eating them, I opened the [Trial World Alpha Leaderboard], and within it, there were 167 names ranked according to their level, indicating that 152 more Alpha Chosen evolved to Tier-2 in the last 9 hours.
After the top 100 rankings were filled, no more congratulatory notifications appeared in the sky that appear whenever someone reached Tier-2.
Just like 9 hours ago, I was still ranked first as I stood at Lv.24. The second and third ranks also didn't change, with both 'Regaz' and 'Drogor' in Lv.19.
Coming down to the fourth-ranked and below, the levels difference increased once more as they were below Lv.15.
Just as I took a bite at the third [Lesser Stamina Fruit], 'Hobgoblin MJ' entered the Maze centre with a little more than 20 of those fruits.
15 minutes before gaining Stage-3 [Sword Aura], I mentally communicated with MJ through our soul connection and asked him to bring all the [Lesser Stamina Fruits] from the [Lesser Stamina Tree] that I found beside the Poisonous Spider's cave.
Even when I ate four more of those [Lesser Stamina Fruits], only half of my Stamina was recovered.
As for the remaining half, I let my recently upgraded Skill, [Passive Stamina Regeneration-II] from crossing 50 Stats in my Endurance Attribute.
With that, my Stamina Regeneration increased even more, and I just had to rest for half an hour before my Stamina completely recovers.
During the 9 hours long intense training, I entered [INVERSE] mode, two more times so that 5* Looted Stats get added to my [STATUS] every time I exit that mode.
Even though I had to go through the pain that was enough to kill me several times over every time I underwent [INVERSE], I still did it.
Since I was in the state of harmony, my mind was clearer than ever, and any trivial emotion of pride from being ranked first among the 11 million Alpha Chosen was thoroughly suppressed.
As a result, my determination to gain absolute power didn't waver in the least.
From the 5 times that I underwent [INVERSE], my [Physical Pain Resistance] reached Lv.62. After it reached Lv.50, gaining higher levels in it got harder.
I wondered whether I would be immune to pain if I were to reach Lv.100 in [Physical Pain Resistance].
But it was a question for another time as MJ couldn't find anything about it even with his Tier-4 System Access.
I let it aside and opened my [STATUS] and went through everything in it.

A Fate Shaped by Magick
This fiction was (and is) published on fanfiction dot net under the same title; though as I slowly transfer it to here, I am editing and smoothing it. This story takes place in the Elder Scrolls (TES) Universe mostly ending up in Morrowind. This is a slice of life meant to answer the questions of how (in the TES universe) do mages study and learn, and exploring some of the in-game differences between TES 2 and 3. This book has minimal spoilers for the Morrowind main quest and does not fully explore it. If you think that giant insects would make cool pets - if you like the idea of exploring magic NOT intended simply as killing something better, faster or more gore-ridden, then come on in and enjoy.
