《The Faction Contributor [Sci-Fi LitRPG]》Chapter 59: True Surge

“Actions talk louder than words…” Aven muttered as he looked at the breath-taking beautiful scenery that was the White setting over the ocean, reflecting itself across hundreds of small waves acting like mirrors.
Musing over this truth that would soon be defining his life, he knew from all his knowledge that if he didn’t do anything, if he didn’t become one of those legendary figures that could move the world through their words, then he would never feel satisfied.
Capabilities needed authority and recognition to be displayed.
“It’s not just for others though… It’s also for me that I’m doing it,” sitting cross-legged casually on the top of the light naval cruiser’s deck that was transporting him, numerous other containers and crates of supply, as well as manpower in the form of supers, he hyped himself.
The abomination core had completely shifted 8 hours after he had woken up, meaning the wall break scenario he had foreseen first was happening, hence, he couldn’t just remain settled in his routine on a side of the Forbidden Continent that was opposed to where all the actions would be for a few weeks.
“It’s a bit like the grand final, we either make it or break it…” Feeling slightly sentimental in the middle of the ocean, he externalized what was on his heart, “Though… Yeah, I don’t doubt that we’ll make it, we had all the time to prepare for it, so the transition is nearly already done before it even truly starts.”
In the end, his thoughts and words ended up in a cycle as he repeated the same thing that made all his worries irrelevant, “Actions talk louder than words…”
His boat transportation ended up taking a bit more than 1 hour, a respectable time to completely circumvent a mid-sized continent.
When they finally disembarked, Aven felt with all his being the lively and swarming activity that was present at the port.
Thousands of people unloading crates using small-scale transporters or massive cranes, moving them on dozens of transport trucks only waiting to depart, all categorized and precisely sent to where they would be needed.
Such a degree of activity reminded him of how it was at the Eland-manned part of the wall before the abomination surge had truly started and nearly everyone had been moved to help to the front and not the back line anymore.
“Well, they have their jobs, and I have mine~” Vetoing helping them, he ignored everything and picked up the dozen fairy boxes that came with him and flew up, his destination an obvious one considering who, and what, he now was in the eyes of others.
After traveling through the air for 5 minutes, Aven began his descent and landed on a wall that opened directly to the fortified section he wanted in.
Passing by the Athal security that was maybe, or maybe not, seeing a fairy for the first time in their life, he used the stairs to go down and enter the command center of the Athal Federation.
Going through a few security gates in the exact same way that he did so back at Eland, meaning as if they didn’t exist, he eventually entered a wide hall full of important-looking people with an atmosphere extremely reminiscent of the one present in the command center of Eland.
“Well, I wouldn’t even be surprised to learn that the Vow Kingdom too places practicality above their culture…” Letting his thoughts escape through his mouth, he put down all his boxes at the entrance and flew above the huge interactive map.
Ignoring the looks he received as he did so, he recognized the same arrow groups, the same colors, the same everything, it was an exact copy of what he had been used to seeing until now, just in a different place with different people.

Assessing the situation roughly, or as roughly as he could with his knowledge level, it was easy for him to see that unless a grade 6 powerhouse appeared from nowhere and used its power to wreck the abomination core to reset it, the entire abomination surge and most of the purple dots would be sooner or later arriving northwest.
“I’m not needed anymore I think, good luck finding erratic behavior shifts from purple dots~ I believe in you all!” Leaving these heroic words behind, Aven took his leave with his boxes and contacted ERA to know where his quarters were.
Getting an answer as soon as he asked, he opened his GPS and flew straight there.
And surprisingly, in the most unlikely of places…
“Hello!” Enthusiastically rushing towards a fairy gathering, Aven messily put down his boxes on the freshly cut grass amidst his excitement.
“Oh! Aven, hello~” Thekrik, a burly man fairy who had always been at every fairy gathering he had been in, welcomed him with the same enthusiasm.
“I thought you would have locked yourself up in their command center already~” Cully, a lithe man fairy and good friend of his displayed a small smile at seeing him.
“How are you doing?” Helia, the 20-centimeters tall female fairy, proactively switched her position to end up next to him. No traces of her initial shyness when they just met remained.
“Hu,” Lella, a generally silent female fairy grunted in acknowledgment of his arrival.
Greetings multiplied as the inclusion of yet another fairy was a happy occasion for this group of already a few dozen fairies.
“There are so many I haven’t had the chance to acquaint myself with yet, where were you all? And… Arbelle?” He found a fairy lounging under a verdant tree blocking all but a few White rays not far from the group.
In answer she just waved her hand at him, not bothering to exit her extremely comfortable-looking location and position.
“You earned us great honor, young fairy,” pulling his attention away, a fairy with a totally average appearance he hadn’t met until now spoke directly to him with a very atypical voice, it wasn’t a heavy one, neither was it a high-pitched one, but it felt as if he could taste the air vibrations transmitting it themselves.
“Ho? What’s this~?” Nearly having chills as a result of this unique experience, Aven’s curiosity was tickled, provoked, and it needed answers as soon as it could.
“My way of pursuing my path,” summarizing to the extreme his answer with a simple smile, his voice still as atypical, he didn’t introduce himself or anything before backing up, allowing the gathering to continue.
“Mysterious~ Hehehe, Anyway!” Doing just that, a hungry social butterfly had a hundred things he wanted to talk about, “Do you know how I ended up as the supreme advisor of the 5 nations? Let me tell you my story, I see the hunger in your eyes! And I’m here to erase it! Both your hunger for my legendary journey and your hunger for marvelous drinks!”
Feeling at home in this totally unfamiliar residential section that had surely been prepared in a rush by the Athal Federation, Aven took his ease and opened his shop to claim a few things he needed to transform this fairy gathering into something more.

Accompanied by 30 swirling lights having cost him 144 000 FCP, Aven struck a confident pose as he started his story with exaggerated mannerism, “It all began after I woke up from yet another night spent recovering from an exhausting but rewarding day where I dedicated more than 50 nearly continuous hours to eradicate abominations…”
In the most unlikely of places, a small-scale party was thrown up, completely materialized from thin air by a single person.
…
“Dear fairies~ It’s time to go and show off,” the unknown fairy with an atypical voice interrupted the small party that had been ongoing for a few hours after looking at his phone.
Instead of complaining and making party-killer jokes, Aven chose to close his eyes and focus on his senses after taking another sip of soft honey, he then understood what was happening without even having to try.
The vibrations and background noises originating from faraway explosions had increased to another level compared to the already-high level it had been when he had just arrived.
It could only mean one thing.
“I don’t think it’ll remain at 1 600 per shot, right?” Asking himself a relatively important question, he remained seated as fairy after fairy slowly came to the realization that the abomination surge intensity was about to explode.
“I’ve been waiting for this~” Waking up from her half-slumber, Arbelle appeared eager to use her power as she unknowingly began to emit her grade 5 energy domain that allowed everyone to get a glimpse of her gravity specialization.
“I would have advised you to refrain yourself if the circumstances were any different, but I don’t think it’ll be possible this time,” a female fairy with long platinum blond hair and white eyes that had not spoken much during the whole “gathering” also seemed to wake up.
“Holding back? Hehe~ You’re overestimating my intellect, Lavinia!” Fluttering her wings once after jesting with the fairy named Lavinia, Arbelle rocketed upward, being the first fairy to leave the party behind.
“Sigh… She’s going to be a wreck again…” Acting like a tired responsible mother, Lavinia similarly instantly went from zero to rocketing upward as she engaged in a pursuit of Arbelle.
“I’ll also be going then.”
“Me too.”
“Showing off? I can do that!”
“Hope to see everyone again in a few weeks~”
As the fairy gathering disbanded, none seemed scared or distressed as they all casually and amiably bid each other goodbye before leaving, some taking nothing with them, some taking boxes, some taking nectarized soft honey bottles.
“I should go too~” His wings fluttering once, Aven defied gravity as he opted on just taking a single box and a gun with him as he joined the sparse fairy flock, all heading to do what they had asked ERA to make them do.
They were all fairies, masters of energy, their small sizes and feeble appearances only served in making others underestimate them.
…
“The logistics behind bringing me that much ammo to play with must have been… Sigh…” Not elaborating further, Aven focused on correctly integrating his new artillery sniper battery.
From the ammunition belts to the snipers themselves, he used his experience to swiftly organize his new currently closed bunker room.
In only 20 minutes he had finished most of the work and started infusing the whole thing with his tech energy infused with enough knowledge and filled with enough talent-based intensity to allow for the production of 996% tech-enhanced products in fully mastered integrated production line conditions despite its true nature as mere grade 3 energy.
With his energy spread around him forming a small pseudo-domain, Aven was able to feel and see his energy spread through the whole battery as well as all the shells currently linked to one of the 5 artillery snipers part of it.
“Still as beautiful as always… Flawed too…” Smiling bitterly at what his sensitive energy talent allowed him to observe, the contradicting feelings between having personally designed this weapon and its ammunition and all the flaws that made themselves known after he had pushed his knowledge beyond its previous threshold eventually resulted in simple resignation.
His artillery sniper was much above other artillery weaponry, but even then it still wasn’t at the absolute peak of perfection, it was only nearing it.
A few minutes passed before the entire battery was filled and ready for long-term devastating utilization, so he settled himself behind the scope of the rightmost artillery sniper and opened the bunker shutter before it.
Then, ignoring the flying supers being both wrecked by and wrecking the abomination ocean, ignoring the single fairy that was present on his extreme right field of view that looked to be having the time of its life, ignoring to faraway grade 5 and peak grade 4 powerhouses fighting against abominations capable of causing unimaginable damages…
He found his first target, a huge mountain of unprotected flesh that only had its size for itself, aimed at its center of mass, didn’t adjust anything as it wasn’t even 200 meters away…
And pressed the trigger.
Watching it and everything behind it in a cone explode in a bloody mist, he found another mountain of unarmored flesh…
And pressed the trigger again.
Repeating that operation expertly dozens and dozens of times, for the first time since he had started to actively participate in this abomination surge, he couldn’t keep up despite trying his best.
Huge mountains of flesh and problematic-looking armored abominations were everywhere in his field of vision, but they just kept advancing, again and again, being stopped only a mere dozen meters away from the base of the Forbidden Wall’s front layer.
Not even thinking about whether the front layer would really be broken through or not, Aven simply continued to pull the trigger, again and again, running a background simulation of which types of abomination were the most problematic.
In the end, after taking out 1 huge mountain of flesh-type abomination every 10 or so seconds, he switched to another ASHAS, one loaded with armor cracking shells.
‘That’s definitely the right answer.’
Finding an armored nimble first target, one that dodged most of the artillery bombardment, missiles coming from the rear, and even energy strikes, he aimed at this target that brought about a drastic decrease in terms of dedicated firepower to elimination ratio.
Following it with the most sliding and reactive artillery-level weaponry ever, Aven waited for it to dodge yet another strike with a martial energy-backed side step…
And pressed the trigger.
At such a short distance, with a projectile going at a speed allowing it to reach the horizon the moment it was fired, the abomination had no chance to react to his attack and its whole armor-covered body exploded in fragments that penetrated all the fodder abominations around it.
‘That’s the right decision. I don’t need to care about the faraway grade 4 and maybe grade 5 abominations, I only need to care about making sure the abominations don’t start climbing the wall. Only after that can I worry about future problems.’
Finding and identifying problematic targets amidst hundreds of “less” problematic targets, Aven found his own rhythm quickly and began taking down abomination after abomination.
This period of optimized anti-abomination campaign went on for 4 hours before something went wrong on the grade 5 battlefield and a flaming bull-like abomination initiated a mindless berserk charge towards the wall.
Not taking any chance even when it was still a dozen kilometers away and was most probably going to be stopped one way or another, he shifted to the rightmost artillery sniper of his battery, one positioned just next to the ammunition racks due to its role as being the “automatic armor cracking gatling”.
Adjusting the aim in a hurry, he pressed the trigger and didn’t release it even as he saw with his own eyes how the charging abominations didn’t seem to care one bit about what he was doing.
Grade 4 supers quickly intervened as it neared the wall more and more, adding up to a firepower level able to slow it down so much that it was effectively stopped.
But no grade 5 came even after a whole minute, so the whole area Aven was in completely transformed in an instant.
The reaction time from the rear was direct as missiles effectively began raining down on the berserk burning abomination, grounding and grinding it down and everything around it on the same occasion.
Another 2 minutes in, special frost missiles began raining down, directly countering the flames that seemed to be the main reason for its tenacity.
Eventually, a few minutes later a grade 5 appeared, surely having been called in an emergency, and transformed the whole atmosphere by invoking the coldest spiritual vibe Aven had ever encountered.
The weakened flames of the grade 5 abomination were instantly extinguished after this psy-energy attack and the grade 4 supers’ attacks, Aven’s included, finally found a solid purchase on which to apply themselves.
It took another 15 minutes of continuous damage for grade 4 martial supers to finally reach the burning organs of the abomination and for the firepower to finally abate and be redirected as the abomination ocean would never let them breathe.
Special harvesters arrived shortly after to substitute with the martial supers who had a much better and more important job to do than harvest literal tons of money.
The rear support intensified greatly during the half-hour the harvesters butchered the whole beast, securing the main source of benefits during a surge.
After that, the whole grade 5 abomination had vanished, the rear support diminished, being needed in other places, and things resumed as per… “Normal”.
Until 8 hours later.
“Ah!”
“Hu!”
“My head!”
A massive spiritual pulse went through the whole area Aven was located in, and out of nowhere, a massive abomination appeared a mere 100 meters away from the wall out of thin air.
“It hurts… So freaking bad…” Frowning massively at the acute pain he was feeling, one that was nearly paralyzing him, one that would have paralyzed him if not for all his spiritual talents helping him, Aven shifted to the automatic artillery sniper and pulled the trigger without really thinking.
The moment the abomination unveiled itself and attacked, all grade 4 psy supers changed their focus to either full spiritual pacification to reduce the massive lethal spiritual attack or went on the full offensive to slow down the abomination.
‘So cold.’
The only thought that Aven’s nearly paralyzed spirit allowed him to have was the realization that in an instant, his whole world seemed to have shifted, engulfed in the cold, alien, and inhospitable spiritual realm.
‘But I prepared myself for this!’
Pushing with his spirit, he mobilized everything he had in the spiritual department to claim that tiny slice of additional processing power he could recover.
The sudden apparition of such a spiritual monster even attracted the attention of the faraway grade 5 supers as more than one were coming back to reinforce the nearly paralyzed area.
Being an exception to the rule, Aven shone the brightest in this situation where most other supers were stunned, fighting for their lives amidst the ongoing spiritual storm they had no power to fight against or control over.
Yet, even under his direct fire, which was when his power reached its theoretical strongest, the surely grade 5 abomination wasn’t stopped and advanced towards the wall, only mildly annoyed at the force going against it.
As if it had fused with the spiritual realm in some manner, physical strength couldn’t affect it as much as it should, exactly as if they were applied to an energy life like a fairy, being mostly made of intangible energy.
Inevitably, before any grade 5 had the time to come back as it had only effectively taken a few seconds for the abomination to do what it was doing, the abomination scaled the wall until it reached the top where hundreds of supers were paralyzed…
Then a massive explosion happened, sending the abomination flying as the sky went dark in an instant.
A storm had popped out of nowhere, and lightning descended, striking the abominations again and again.
And in the middle of this storm, a single fairy with an extremely average appearance, one Aven had met and even talked to during the fairy part- gathering, the one with an atypical voice, could barely be distinguished.
“Ho…” Nearly by instinct, Aven redirected his gaze to this one fairy who had praised him as having earned the fairies great honor, and he appraised him.
Storm Eland
Faction: Nation of Eland
“So Commander and Rival aren’t the only ones with stupid names…” And upon seeing his name, his private thoughts escaped through his mouth as if it was totally normal.
Fortunately, the sounds of thunder completely veiled it, and in the end, it was as if he had never said anything.
