Fenrir
Twenty minutes before the roar
I turn my attention away from the intruders as the last one within the party I was watching walks through the entrance to my dungeon to look for Fang.
Unsurprisingly, when I find him, I also find Dawn playing around in the body of a smaller wolf next to him.
Which looks rather adorable.
I quickly open my status to check my mana reserves before a pulse of light escapes my core in my excitement.
Name: Fenrir
Race: Dungeon Core
Element: Void
EXP Level: 10
EXP: 30/110
Cultivation Level: 10
Cultivation to next Level: 0%
Mana: 300/300
Secondary Tabs: Dungeon Status, Skills List, Talents List, Achievements List, Starter Environments
"Dawn, now might be a good time to move away from Fang," I tell her as I close out of my status again.
It's finally time to make him my new boss monster!
Dawn looks up at my core from her place next to Fang before getting to her feet and walking a few meters away from him. She then just plops down on the ground and stares at him with a look of anticipation on her wolf face.
Since Fang is already mana infused, all I have to do is declare him as a boss.
So...
I declare Fang as the boss of the tenth floor!
As soon as I finish the thought, a bright light consisting of a mixture of red and gold sparks begins to emanate from Fang's body. Soon after, he begins to convulse on the ground whilst whimpering in pain.
Hmm, this is different from the last time I made a boss...
I glance at Dawn to find her with a worried look sprawled across her wolf face before I focus on Fang again.
Considering that he seems to be in pain, I think it's safe to assume that he is evolving. Which makes me wonder what he will evolve into...

My thoughts are interrupted as Fang suddenly lets out a pained howl that seems to echo throughout my dungeon. At the same time, he begins to grow in size until he reaches nearly three meters in height. After that, his fur begins to shift colors back and forth between a pale white, and a pitch black. Oddly enough, the fur seems to have different effects depending on which color it is.
When his fur is pale white, it looks extremely sharp, similar to my beowolves, meanwhile when it's pitch black, it has the same black mist spreading across it that my void fens have.
"This is new..." I mutter out loud as I watch Fang continue to change.
Suddenly, Fang begins to cough out puffs of black flames with a look of pain on his face. Meanwhile, tiny black sparks begin to escape from his eyes.
I continue watching in silence as the only noise that fills the room is that of Fang's pained cries as the evolution continues. It ends up taking an entire ten minutes before he finally falls silent, leaving Dawn to rush over to him, abandoning the wolf she was possessing as she does so.
Interesting...
Fang's fur finally seems to decide on sticking with the pale white appearance, but when I look into his pattern, I get the feeling that he should be able to shift it between black and white whenever he wants. Which certainly makes for an interesting power.
I stop inspecting his pattern before identifying him to see if his species' name has changed or not.
Name: Fang
Race: Fallen Wolf of the Void
Element: Void
EXP Level: 13
EXP: 0/140
Mana: 260/260
Huh?
That's a strange name for a race...
That aside, the mana increase... is it raising by twice as much now that he is Tier 2 as it did in Tier 1? Because that would be nice if it were the case.

I close out of his status to see Dawn still fussing over Fang like a newborn child.
Although I guess in this case, he is sort of like a newborn, considering that he has just evolved.
Anyways, I turn my attention away from the two for now to instead focus on the room around us.
My plan for the boss room of the floor is to make three separate islands, each connected by bridges, and each barren of anything except for wolves. Two of the islands will have void beowolves on them when the intruders enter the room, while the third will have Fang himself, and the three mana infused monsters will be able to traverse between the three islands.
I ignore the unconscious Fang for the moment as I begin digging out and creating the three islands.
The biggest annoyance for this room will likely be the bridges themselves, since I want to make them respawn after a certain amount of time has passed since they were destroyed. Which they will be able to be destroyed, unlike in the last room that I used a bridge design in.
It's just going to be annoying to make the enchantment for that. But I should be able to do it nonetheless.
After several minutes of working on the room, I begin to hear movement coming from Fang and Dawn's direction. When I look over towards the two, I find Fang finally beginning to move again.
Hmm, that took less time than I was expecting.
I drop the work I was doing for now to focus on Fang again as he begins to climb to his feet, albeit rather shakily.
After giving him a few more minutes to adjust to things, I spawn in a goblin before ordering him to kill it.
As soon as he gets the order, he turns his head towards the goblin and simply opens his mouth, causing a black ball of fire to build up in front of it before shooting straight out at the goblin at a speed too fast for the goblin to dodge. The instant the ball of black flames touches the poor goblin, the creature begins to disintegrate completely, starting from around the impact of the attack.
Oh? So instead of burning things, the black flames now just completely disintegrate them?
That's in interesting improvement.
Out of nowhere, Fang surprises me by lifting his head and letting out an incredibly loud noise that sounds somewhere between a roar and a howl. What's more is that this noise seems to echo throughout my entire dungeon, startling every last intruder currently inside of it.
I blankly stare at him for a few seconds after he finishes. Meanwhile Dawn just floats over to him and says, "Good boy."

Almighty Dung [Dropped]
Have you seen the future? I have not, nobody did, no one can. I see...have you heard of apotheosis' prophecy? What about it? Many didn't take it seriously, probably because nobody could crack its mysteries, but the indestructible prophecy rock has recently crumbled. It is a sign that things will change. ...What did the prophecy say? Sigh, you really don't know anything. There was a furnace drawn on the prophecy rock. There were three objects in it, named meaningless crown, black star and incomplete cross. When three signs appear the beast will awaken. Has the meaning been cracked? There are many hypothesis, but nothing concrete. The first object could have relation to king of some sorts, but in this vast universe there are many worlds, counties and kings. Who can really guess its meaning? It can also be metaphorical. What about black star? They say the second clue leads to eclipse, but this also says nothing. Third one? Cross is the symbol of divinity. The cracked cross might mean a lot of things, like person who wants to go against progenitor's ideas and laws and forcefully achieve divinity...It could also mean destruction of divinity, but something like that should be impossible... You're overthinking things. How could gods stay idle if someone is threatening their reign? Also, even if somebody is forcefully awakening, the gods will be alerted by commotion and won't let it succeed... Say, do you think that awakening beast is the one who will try to become one of us? Most likely. No, it's hard to say. The prophecy can't be that simple. This is nothing but wild guesses from our side. Alright, let's stop with depressing stuff. I found a nice place not too far from my domain constellation. Really? What's special about it? Nothing we've not seen before, except for a rare delicacy. They call it chocolate. Oh? Is it delicious? Yes, much better than slime candies you've been fond of. Are you free now? Of course! Then it's my treat. Be careful though, the sovereign over there is a bit low key, but very strong. You need to get to know world's customs first, we don't need extra trouble. No problem. We have nothing to do anyway, haha. What are we waiting for? Lead the way... Ark I - Invasion of thousand kingdoms (Chapter 1-???) Ark II - Nocturnal feast (Chapter ???-???)
