Fenrir

Ray sprints straight to the goblin at an incredible speed before cutting off its arm with one of the blades on the backs of her hands and grabbing the goblin by the neck with the other hand as it wails in pain from the loss of its arm.

"Damn, she's fast!" Dawn exclaims as I watch on in agreement.

This might just be my fastest monster yet.

Could it be because of that black lightning?

I open the goblin's status and find its mana slowly decreasing.

Wait, does the black lightning have more than one effect?

That's interesting.

I order Ray to put the goblin down before despawning the goblin entirely.

"This mini boss will fit in on pretty well on this floor," I mutter before telling Ray to go explore the mini boss room.

"It certainly has the speed to navigate through the mini taigas, that's for sure!" Dawn says before making her way out of the mini boss room back to the main floor.

I watch Ray move around the mini boss room for a few minutes before beginning to cultivate.

Leon

"Greetings, Lord Xurek! It's nice to finally meet you!" I say as soon as I enter the meeting room within the Mercenary Guild building and spot the two-and-a-half-meter tall Orc sitting on a chair.

Lord Xurek looks up from whatever he is reading before saying, "Am I to assume that you are the City Lord, then?"

I nod my head before closing the door behind me and saying, "Yes, I am the City Lord. My name is Leon Raizel."

The Orc looks surprised at my family name before standing up and saying, "Thank you for agreeing to make the deal with us."

This Lord is oddly polite for an Orc.

Is it because he is a Lord?

Or maybe it's because of how desperate they were for that deal?

"The deal benefited my city as well, so it wasn't any trouble," I say to him before walking towards the chair across from him.

Lord Xurek looks at me in surprise before sitting back down.

"I'm glad to hear it," he says before asking, "Do you think there is a possibility that we could enter into another agreement?"

He wants another agreement?

But what for?

Before I can answer him, a knock sounds on the door.

I glance from the door to Lord Xurek before calling out, "Who is it?"

Aidan's voice comes from the other side of the door as he says, "The messenger from Lord Frost has arrived and wishes to speak with you at once."

I vaguely notice a shift in Lord Xurek's mood after Aidan finishes speaking before someone opens the door and barges right on in without even asking.

"Wait, stop! The City Lord hasn't agreed to meet with you yet!" Aidan calls after the surprise guest as a man with blonde hair and a medium build wearing some sort of robe enters the room.

Well, that was rude.

"City Lord Leon, I have come on behalf of Lord Frost to-" the man suddenly stops speaking as he sees Lord Xurek sitting across from me with an annoyed look on his face.

"What the hell?! We knew that you were working with the filthy Orcs, but for it to be this deep?!" the messenger shouts as his surprise begins to shift into anger.

Lord Xurek remains sitting without saying anything as he looks towards me.

Is he trying to see how I will deal with this?

Well the answer to that is simple.

"Who I do business with is of no concern of yours, much less your Lord, so you can either shut up and do what you came here to do, or you can leave my mountain," I say before slowly getting up from my chair. "The choice is yours."

A hint of approval shines in the Lord's eyes as the messenger sputters in anger before shouting, "You would rather work with these Orcs than your own kind?!"

I coldly stare at him as I answer, "The city of Wolfdenn is a neutral city. We do not enter into disagreements between other parties, no matter what it is."

Not to mention that he technically isn't my own kind.

Or at least not fully my own kind.

The messenger looks shocked for a second before he opens his mouth to respond, only to close it again in surprise a second later.

He doesn't say anything for nearly an entire minute as he likely speaks to someone through telepathy.

I take the moment of silence to study his aura.

This idiot is a Knight?

Well, that's annoying.

Although, it won't do anything in the face of the System if I were to decide to kick him off of my mountains.

The anger on the messenger's face slowly fades away until a solemn look replaces it.

I wonder what whoever he was talking to said to calm him down like that?

The messenger looks directly at me again and says, "I have just spoken with Lord Frost, and he has directed me to continue with what I came here to do."

"Okay. Then you may wait until tomorrow to do that. As you can see, I am busy right now," I answer him before turning back to Lord Xurek and noticing a faint smirk on his face.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see the messenger clench his fist at the dismissal before nodding and turning to leave the room.

The second the door closes behind him, I ask, "Now, you were wishing to speak about another possible deal?"

Jake

"What do you see in that guy, anyways?" I whisper to Roselyn as Arthur and Arnold laugh ahead of us in the labyrinth corridor.

Roselyn looks at me in surprise before glancing back at Arthur and saying, "I don't know what it is. He is just... great!"

I sigh before muttering, "That's what you always say..."

She has never once stated why she likes him.

Just that he is 'great.'

I really don't understand what's going on in her head.

My thoughts are interrupted as we arrive at the door to the next room.

Arthur immediately opens it without a care in the world before walking in.

"Shit, is he trying to get himself killed!" I mutter before rushing in after him with everyone else following behind me.

I may personally hate the guy, but Roselyn cares about him, so I can't just let him throw his life away!

As soon as we all enter the room, nearly a dozen monsters spawn around us as the door seals itself shut, marking the room as one of the newly changed monster houses.

Arthur grins before rushing at the nearest monster, only to pause as Jason grunts in pain.

I glance over at him and barely spot a shadow sprint across the room.

"Oh, shit," I mutter before raising my bow.

The second floor mini boss is in here with us.
