Fenrir

I slowly begin pushing my mana into the little lycan halfling before it begins to convulse on the ground as Dawn and I watch.

For some reason, Dawn wanted to watch this infusing, so she possessed one of the lycans in the room and is currently standing off to the side with her arms crossed.

I feel as if she has changed a bit ever since she got the ability to possess my monsters.

Maybe it's because she isn't as bored anymore?

Or she could just be happier in general.

Either way, it's nice to see her in better spirits.

I am distracted from my thoughts as the lycan halfling stops convulsing right before void energy begins to leak from its body.

The first major change is pretty obvious as the red areas on its fur fade to match the rest of its black fur before a current of black lightning begins to run throughout its entire body.

Interesting.

Is it going to have mana syphoning?

Like Fang's claws?

Suddenly, something happens that has never happened before in any of my previous mana infusions.

The lycan halfling suddenly begins to scream in pain as sharp, black blades grow out of the back of its hands.

"What the..." I mutter out of confusion before the void energy begins to reabsorb into its skin.

Dawn stares at the mana infused lycan halfling for a few seconds before saying, "Judging by your reaction, I am assuming that this isn't a normal infusion?"

I glance at her for a second before focusing on the lycan halfling again as I answer, "None of my monsters have ever had a non-mana related evolution before now."

"Oh, that's all?" Dawn asks, confusing me even further before explaining, "It's possible for a monster to mutate in a way that doesn't consider the mana during an evolution, but it is pretty damn rare for it to happen."

"Really?" I ask her in surprise before turning to the lycan halfling and identifying it.

Name: N/A

Race: Void Razor Lycan

Element: Void

EXP Level: 6

EXP: 0/60

Mana: 40/40

It's entire species changed?

Well, that's interesting.

"I think I will name you Ray," I say before a golden light radiates from the newly evolved and mutated monster.

Dungeon Notification:

You have made Void Razor Lycan 'Ray' the mini boss of the sixth floor.

Ray slowly gets up from the ground before looking around in confusion while adjusting to the new additions to its hands.

"Well, this just got a lot more interesting," I mutter before I spawn in a goblin to test out Ray's new abilities.

Let's see what she can do!

One week after Fenrir's deal

"Wait, you mean that they are finally here?!" I ask Aidan as I shoot out of my office chair.

Aidan raises an eyebrow at my excitement before grinning as he says, "Yes, the dungeon researchers have just arrived this morning."

Finally!

We will finally be able to learn more about the monsters from this dungeon!

"Where are they?" I ask Aidan as I set my quill down on the desk.

Aidan turns serious as he says, "Sorry, but they have already entered the dungeon with the Guildmaster to identify the monsters within it."

My excitement dies down a little before I slowly sit back down.

Well, I guess I will just have to wait.

"They should be back with the names of each and every monster within that dungeon in just a couple of hours though," Aidan adds, raising my hopes again.

"And what about the dungeon's element?" I ask him while leaning forward in my chair.

Aidan sits down in the chair across from me as he says, "We unfortunately can't know that until they come back out of the dungeon. They might know what it is, or they might not."

I look down as I contemplate his words.

We might still be in the dark as to what element this dungeon uses even after they get back...

Although at least we will be able to stop calling the monsters things like 'large wolves' or 'bipedal wolves' after this.

I look up at Aidan again and ask, "What about the activation of the sensory and alarm enchantments on the walls?"

We have gotten reports that someone was spotted sneaking out of the dungeon at night.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to see any identifiable features of the culprit, but ever since then, we have shifted our focus from infrastructure to getting more security in the city.

"The enchantments have been activated as of this morning, so we shouldn't have to worry about any more surprise – and secret – guests to the dungeon," Aidan says before looking down at his clipboard. "Oh, and the delegate from the Orcs has arrived earlier this morning."

The delegate?

"Which delegate?" I ask him out of confusion.

There was an Orc delegate arriving today?

Aidan looks surprised for a second before he says, "Did you forget? The Lord of the Orcs that you made a deal with has arrived today to meet with you."

I stare at him for a second before my eyes widen in realization.

"Well, shit," I mutter before getting up from my chair again and walking around my desk.

With all of the crap going on recently, I somehow managed to forget about that...

On the outskirts of the Lost Mountains

"It looks like the city has updated their security, making it more difficult to sneak in to visit the dungeon for our future deliveries," Adalbern says from a tree to the vampire next to him.

Adelina stares at the city from afar before quietly saying, "Which means that we will either have to make a deal with Wolfdenn's City Lord or sneak in again and ask the dungeon core for help in this matter."

Adalbern nods his head in agreement as they both stare at the Dungeon City.

Adelina suddenly glances towards the side as a hunting group approaches the city from deeper in the mountains.

"Do you know why His Majesty is so insistent on working with this dungeon as equals?" she asks Adalbern out of nowhere.

Adalbern turns to her out of surprise before facing the city again as he says, "From what I have been able to get out of the Prince, it appears to be out of respect for the founder's former companion."

Adelina looks surprised for a second before muttering, "It looks like our Emperor has a soft spot for beings from the void."

The gate on the walls of the city suddenly raises to let the hunting party in before lowering again.

"That or the Demigod of Night does," Adalbern whispers before saying, "Let's go report back to the King."

Adelina nods her head before they both disappear into the night.
