Leon

Both Aidan and I head back to my office before I open up the letter.

Hello, City Lord.

I am Lord Frost, and I wish to set up a trade deal with Wolfdenn.

A delegate will arrive at Wolfdenn in one week.

Please give your answer to him once he arrives.

I flip the letter to look at the back before muttering, "Is that all?"

That was a short letter.

"What's wrong?" Aidan asks me with furrowed brows.

I shake my head and say, "Nothing. I just wasn't expecting his letter to be so short."

"Oh," Aidan says before adding, "From what I have heard, Lord Frost isn't a very patient, nor forgiving man, so a short letter from him doesn't surprise me in the least."

"Really?" I ask before looking down at my desk as my eyebrows furrow in annoyance.

I hope Lord Frost doesn't try something...

Aidan interrupts my thoughts as he says, "Don't worry, I doubt Lord Frost would try anything. He should already know of your deal with Lady Fox, and your impending deal with the King, so he would have to be stupid to try anything major against you."

I look back up at him in surprise, "And if he decides to make trouble in a small way?"

Aidan pauses for a second, "Then we might have a problem."

I nod my head in agreement before sighing.

What has happened to my life?

Just several months ago, I was working as a simple mercenary to exterminate Goblins.

Now I am dealing with Lords left and right...

I lean back in my chair before looking up at the ceiling.

Then again, a lot of this is my own fault.

I did accept the reward after all, and I am the one putting in all of this effort to build a Dungeon City.

Nothing I can do now but continue until I am strong enough that no one can bother me.

Fenrir

It doesn't take long to spawn in the humans, after which I spend a couple of hours cultivating to regenerate my mana before taking a break to spawn in the mana infused monster.

I quickly focus on a random human within the keep before I begin pushing my mana into him.

Surprisingly, this monster appears to begin evolving faster than any of my other monsters as void energy quickly leaks from its skin after a very brief fit of convulsions.

Meanwhile, what's even more surprising to me, is that, even after the void energy reabsorbs back into the human's skin after the evolution, nothing actually appears different aside from its now pitch black eyes and hair.

What is with this human?

I study it for a second but all I can find that is different – outside of the color of its hair and eyes – is a slight change in the human's magical circuits.

Hmm, maybe...

I spawn in a sword made out of World Ore before having the void human pick it up.

After that, I order the human to attack another human already within the keep.

The second I do this, void mana appears to travel through the human's magical circuits towards its sword before entering the sword and causing it to be wreathed in black flames.

Oh, well that will be useful.

It looks like another devou-

My thoughts are interrupted as the human suddenly swings the sword horizontally and a blade of void flames flies through the air and hits its target human, cutting off its arm in the process as the flames begin spreading up its shoulder as the human screams in pain.

I quickly remove the human before spawning another one to replace it.

Interesting.

It looks like this human can use magic to a very limited extent.

I doubt it would have been able to manage that void blade if it weren't for the World Ore in the sword, but it will still be extremely useful to have.

"What was with the screaming?" I suddenly hear Dawn ask from the entrance to the keep.

I turn my attention to her and say, "Oh, I was just testing out the new mana infused human, and the closest test subject happened to also be a human."

"Oh," Dawn says before asking, "How did the testing go?"

"It went pretty well, to be honest. The human also works well with the World Ore," I answer her before turning back to the void human and having it roam around the keep at random.

Normally I would just have the mana infused monster stationed in a throne room of some sort, but this time I think I want to have it roam around at random.

It might add some more suspense if they don't know where it is.

I glance at my status to check on my mana.

Name: Fenrir

EXP: 48/80

Cultivation Level: 5

Cultivation to next Level: 1%

Mana: 6/70

Actually, I think I have enough mana left to go ahead and infuse a beowolf before I go back to cultivating.

I go ahead and place a beowolf in the middle of the taiga before infusing it with mana.

Right as I am about to turn away, I notice Dawn leave her direwolf and enter the new beowolf.

I mentally chuckle in amusement – seeing as I can't physically do it – before going back to my cultivation.

Within a castle in the Raizel Empire's Capital City.

"Are you serious!? I am going to go visit-" a beautiful woman wearing heavily enchanted black leather armor with a hood shouts before being interrupted by the man sitting across from her, behind his desk.

"No, you will not. Not only do you have your own responsibilities to take care of, but Leon is extremely busy according to what Aronia said in her letter," the man says with his arms crossed.

The man is wearing a flashy robe over his own set of heavily enchanted black leather armor along with a crown on his head, while both him and the woman across from him have the same raven black hair and crimson eyes.

The woman calms down from her original explosion of emotion and says, "But I haven't seen him in nearly two years! Please, father! Let me go see him, even if it's a covert visit!"

The man – otherwise known as Emperor Jake Raizel of the Raizel empire – scratches his chin in contemplation before saying, "If you can cleanly finish dealing with that army that is approaching to the West, then you may visit him without revealing your identity to anyone but him. Are we clear?"

The woman nods her head in agreement before she says, "We have a deal!"

The Emperor sighs before adding, "You know that you smother him too much, don't you, Ari?"

Ari turns serious as she says, "I'm sorry, but I will do whatever it takes to keep him safe. I will not lose another little brother!"

The Emperor looks at her for several seconds before sighing again.

"Avery wasn't even related to you, and neither was his accident. You do know what the people call you, right?" he says, crossing into a touchy subject for his daughter.

A cold look flashes in Ari's eyes as she nods her head and says, "Avery was a little brother to me, so let them call me an Ice Demon all they want."

She then gets up from her chair, gives her father a brief bow, and leaves the room without another word.

The Emperor just stares at the open doorway behind her before muttering, "If it weren't for me having Leon, I doubt she would ever have shown her old self again, so I guess her overprotectiveness isn't the worst thing in the world."

He then waves his hand, causing wind to blow by and close the door to office before he turns back to the paperwork littered around his desk.
