《Dungeon from the Void》B3 | Chapter 17 - Quick Work on the Floor

Fenrir
I finish the fourth through second tower floors within a few hours and move my attention towards the first floor of the tower.
What should I do for this floor of the tower...
I mentally sigh before glancing at the intruders, only to find them already starting the third floor.
"They sure moved quickly this time," I mutter to myself in surprise.
Dawn, without taking her focus off of the intruders, says, "Yeah, but that is to be expected. Their previous run was their first run after all."
Hmm, that makes sense.
"Tell me whenever they reach the fourth floor," I say before focusing on the first floor of the tower.
I have already decided on what mana-infused monster to use for the floor, but I haven't decided on anything else as of yet.
The floor has to be special, seeing as it is the final floor of the tower, so I will be using a mana-infused beowolf on the floor.
Unsurprisingly, the mana-infused beowolf looks almost exactly like Blade with the only differences being that it is smaller, less intelligent, and at a lower level.
Now what should I do for this floor...
Perhaps an arena?
The last time I did one of those was on the third floor of the dungeon.
A normal, boring arena won't work though, so I need to find something to change it up a bit...
"That could work..." I mutter before beginning my work on the floor.
I place several lava pools throughout the floor of the tower and put a rising and falling platform in the center of the room.
This is where the most important of the monsters will be entering the room from, with the rest of them entering from secret entrances spread throughout the walls of the room.

Aside from the lava, I place a few void bombs throughout the room to keep the intruders on their toes.
I spend the next twenty or so minutes working on the enchants for the floor.
There will be a total of ten waves, and instead of just entering through one entrance like the last arenas I have made, each wave will have several different entrances used at the same time. However, only the fifth, eighth, and tenth waves will use the entrance in the center of the room.
Meanwhile, the mana-infused monster will be in the final wave and will enter through the central platform along with a few other direwolves.
I give the room one last look over before fixing a couple of problems in my enchant scripts.
"And that should do it..." I mutter after finishing everything.
On to the cavern outside of the tower!
For this floor, I spread multiple pools of lava throughout the entire cavern instead of just a few in one corner.
I then start placing the swords around the floor.
"They just reached the fourth floor," Dawn suddenly says out of nowhere, "how close are you to finishing the fifth floor?"
I answer without pausing in my placement of swords, "I might be done before they reach the fifth floor. Assuming they actually do reach the fifth floor that is."
I feel Dawn's attention shift towards me as she says, "They are doing better than last time, and they know to avoid Blade, so I think they will reach the fifth floor this time."
"That's true," I mutter.
Assuming that they actually do avoid Blade.
Knowing what I have seen so far from these Humans and their pride, it's possible that they might want to fight Blade again.

Although, I get the feeling that the Hybrid might avoid Blade.
I am not really sure why I think that though.
Anyways, I soon finish placing all of the swords and begin enchanting ten of them to act as seals.
First, I write in a script on the boss room's door to open when a signal is no longer being received by any of the ten seals. After that, I set up the seals themselves by having them send a signal when they are touching the matching enchantments in the ground.
It takes me another fifteen or so minutes to finish this before I start spawning monsters throughout the cavern floor.
There will be individual monsters as well as groups of monsters roaming around the floor at random with no distinct pattern.
As I am doing this, I take a moment to glance at the Hybrid's party to check on their progress.
The first thing I see is Leon rushing in twirling his dual swords while fighting against the mana-infused hobgoblin within the fortress.
They are already at the fortress?
That was pretty fast.
It looks like they will be reaching the fifth floor after all.
I should hurry up and finish it before they get here.
I hasten my placing of monsters and finish it after another ten to fifteen minutes, using a void fen and void direwolf as the other two mana-infused monsters for the floor.
Now all that is left is to build the boss room!
But... what should I do for the boss room?
I glance at the intruders and find them slowly skirting around Blade's domain in an attempt to reach the totem without running into him.
Interesting, so they actually are avoiding Blade. Just as I had thought they would.
I turn to Dawn and ask, "Do you have any ideas for the boss room?"
Dawn answers me without taking her focus from the intruders, "Since you are using a bipedal monster for the boss, you could try to make the boss room use a smaller area for fighting."
A smaller area for fighting...
That does sound pretty interesting.
I search through my dungeon for ideas before focusing on the second room of the labyrinth.
Bridges...
That could actually work!
"Thanks Dawn!" I shout at her before rushing to start on the boss room.
This is going to be fun!

The Hideous Horde
In a world where powers are more of a curse than a gift, terrible changes occur to normal humans for seemingly random reasons. These changes occur at the genetic level, and they are not your classic presto changeo. These changes are made of blood, pain, and pounds of flesh. The story begins with these transformations, and who knows when it'll end. This is currently becoming something; hopefully, it'll become something great. Keep your hopes up, because there is more to come.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.

What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.

Modern Magic
A Modern Magician BookI looked up at the crooked holo sign while the perfectly bred woman read from a paper, a plastic smile glued to her face.'Welcome to The City,' she said in a fake voice. 'Once formerly known as New York, The City is a place filled with ancient and modern wonders. Remember, if you see any magicians please report to the nearest police station or Black Hand officer.'I smiled at the sign and then raised a single finger. No, not the middle one. A blue misty light spun from my finger and into the holo device. The message quickly changed from the fake woman to one of my own.'Welcome to The City,' the woman read, her hair now dyed a fuchsia. Her eyelids were a dark blue and her bottom lip and right eyebrow were pierced. 'A special message from Hecate, queen of magic.' The woman looked up at me, a smirk playing on her lips. 'Welcome to my city.'
