Fenrir

"And that's it for the seventh floor of the tower," I mutter to Dawn as I finish up the enchantment on the door.

"Oh? That was fast," Dawn says without taking her attention off of the intruders on the second floor.

Surprisingly, these intruders are actually almost at the third floor.

It's about time people started making their way there.

Aside from the first group that is.

Although...

"These monsters are pretty weak," the party's leader says again full of arrogance.

I really don't like them.

Every time he enters the dungeon, he looks down on everything inside it!

It's not my fault you are CL 5 while doing the second floor!

Name: Arthur Fox

Race: Human

EXP Level: 4

Cultivation Level: 5

Mana: ?/55

Seriously! Who brags about how weak monsters are when they are several levels above them?!

Ugh, whatever.

I turn my attention away from the nuisance to begin working on the sixth floor of the tower.

It's best to just ignore them.

Now, which monster to infuse with mana...

I think another void hobgoblin will do for this floor of the tower.

To start off, I dig out the edges of the floor and fill it with lava, leaving a large square in the center.

The goal of this floor will be for the intruders to defeat the mana-infused monster on the platform while being shot at from the balconies up above the lava by four normal goblins.

I build two extendable bridges via enchants between the floor exits and the platform. The bridge at the entrance will extend out to the platform when the intruders enter the room and retract when they all reach the platform.

Meanwhile, I enchant it so that the monsters all spawn as soon as the bridge finishes retracting unless the monster didn't die in the last run, in which case they will be hidden from view until the bridge retracts.

In the void hobgoblin's case, he will be moved down into the ground of the platform when there are no intruders in the room and moved back up when the bridge retracts.

At the same time, the balconies will be sealed until the bridge retracts.

As for the traps? I place a new type of trap I had created from a strange substance that Dawn had brought to me from the surface.

This trap isn't necessarily dangerous, but it will cause the intruder a lot of issues in the room.

The trap is an exact copy of the acid spray trap, except with a strange sticky substance instead of acid.

I haven't thought up a name for it as of yet, but it will be pretty inconvenient for the intruders to be covered in this stuff while in the middle of the battle.

It could stick their feet to the ground, locking them in place to be hit by arrows or targeted by the void hobgoblin.

Of course, they could still free their feet by simply cutting the substance with a blade, seeing as it hardens extremely quickly after being exposed to the air.

I am still not sure what it is, but it is pretty useful in a lot of situations, so it doesn't really matter.

Anyways, I spawn in the hobgoblin and infuse it with my mana before moving on to the next floor of the tower.

"Hey, Fenrir!" Dawn calls out, drawing my attention to her.

"What's up?" I ask as I find her still watching the nuisance as they finish the second floor.

"Oh, so the nuisan... I mean intruders finally made it to the third floor?" I ask Dawn, almost slipping up and calling them the name I use in my mind.

Dawn looks at me from the intruders while turning red in amusement as she says, "You almost just called them nuisances, didn't you?"

I focus on the nuisances and say, "Nope. How have they been doing so far?"

"Uh huh," she says, obviously not believing me, "They have been doing okay. Although they are still just as arrogant as always."

Yeah, I thought so...

"Well, except for two of them that is," Dawn adds after a few seconds.

Oh?

I turn to the intruders and start paying attention to what they are saying.

"You are so great, Arthur!" The ditzy looking girl exclaims to the main nuisance.

Yeah, nothing has changed with them.

I focus on the two I haven't seen talking yet.

Now that I think about it, I haven't really paid much attention to these two as of yet.

One of them looks like he is annoyed at being here while the other just looks blank.

Huh, I guess there are two people in the party that aren't annoying.

"Nah, this dungeon is just too easy for me!" The main nuisance says in response to the girl.

I still hate this party though.

I turn back to the sixth floor to continue my work on the tower.

Leon

I blankly stare at Rose without a word.

Is she an idiot?

Why is she shouting like a madwoman?

Rose starts pouting as she says, "Don't look at me like I am an idiot!"

I avert my gaze from her and say, "I don't know what you are talking about."

I quickly try to change the subject by asking, "Anyways, why are you so obsessed with going back into the dungeon right now?"

Kat answers for Rose, "The Mercenaries Guild sent in another observer to check the number of floors in the dungeon and found out that it now has five floors."

"Oh?" I ask in surprise, "Well I have to deal with a meeting right now, but we can go to the dungeon after if there isn't anyone inside at the moment."

"That's fine," Kat says before reaching into a fold of her skirt and bringing out an envelope, "my father wants me to give this to you."

Does her skirt have a spatial storage or something?

I reach for the envelope and pocket it while saying, "Thank you."

What could her father want with me anyways?

My only guess is still that he wants to know who the leader of his daughter's mercenary party is.

Kat crosses her arms as she says, "So who are you meeting with now?"

Rose perks up at this question as well with obviously curiosity.

I sigh before saying, "Lady Fox."

She grimaces at the name and says, "Oh. Good luck."

"Thanks," I say with a light smile as Aidan jumps into the conversation.

"We need to go, City Lord."

I turn to him and nod my head.

"We should leave you to your meeting," Kat says as she drags Rose away before she can say what she is obviously wanting to say.

"What was that about?" Aidan asks as we watch them walk away.

I turn around and continue on to my manor with a simple, "She also knows what Lady Fox is like."

"Oh." He says before following after me without another word.
