《Dungeon from the Void》B3 | Chapter 13 - The Fifth Floor and Trouble

I have been thinking about what to build for the fifth floor for a while now.

In the end though, I decided on a mixture of things.

First, there will be a tower spanning ten floors in height, with the tenth floor being the entrance to the fifth floor of the dungeon.

Each of these floors will have monsters in it or some sort of obstacle or puzzle that the intruder will have to clear. Meanwhile, the fifth and ground floors of the tower will have mana-infused monsters within them.

The intruders will have to slowly make their way down the tower to the cavern below.

This is where the next part of the floor begins.

Just like last time, the cavern will be a wide-open area spanning fifty kilometers in diameter.

Unlike last time, however, this cavern will have monsters roaming around at random instead of only within dens and camps.

There will be a total of twenty-five swords stuck in the ground throughout the cavern floor.

Ten of these swords are seals sealing the floor's boss room shut.

The intruder's goal on this floor is to pull out the correct swords spread throughout the cavern in order to unseal the boss room.

Unlike the last floor, thanks to the monsters randomly roaming around, the intruders won't be able to take breaks throughout the floor without worrying about being attacked.

I am not sure what design I will be using for the boss room, but I will be using a mana-infused bipedal wolf for the boss.

Designing the boss room can wait.

For now, I will just go ahead and start working on digging out the floor.

The next few days pass in a flash as I spend all of my time cultivating and digging, only taking breaks from time to time as Dawn brings things in from the surface.

"I am finally finished digging!" I shout in excitement as I finally finish digging out a wide area for the boss room.

My shout attracts Dawn's attention as she looks away from the intruders she was watching to say, "That's great! Have you decided what you are going to be doing for the boss room yet?"

"Unfortunately, no," I say while looking at the room I set aside just now for the boss.

What could I do that focuses on a bipedal boss?

I contemplate this for a few minutes before muttering, "I can figure that out later."

It's not like I am going to be building it right now anyways.

I turn my attention to the tenth floor of the tower.

Originally, I was just going to do a simple obstacle course for this floor, but I changed my mind after seeing some of the new poisons Dawn had brought me.

One poison in particular is an airborne poison in the form of a gas.

The tenth floor of the tower will now be a mixture of an obstacle course and puzzle.

Intruders will have to make detours throughout the obstacle course in order to press buttons that will open up new paths within the course.

Meanwhile, poison will slowly be released into the room as the intruders makes their way through the room.

By the time ten minutes pass, the room will be completely filled with poisonous gas.

The only way to stop this is to press a button next to the door to the ninth floor of the tower.

It takes me about half an hour to finish everything in the room aside from the poison enchantments.

The enchantment isn't very difficult to write, so I script it so that pores in the walls start to release small amounts of poison the second the door closes after every member of the intruder's group enters the room.

After that, I script it so that it will slowly increase the amount of poison released as time passes, only stopping when the intruders are dead, or when the button next to the exit is pushed.

Once I finish the enchant, I look it over one more time before setting it in place.

"One room down, plenty more to go," I mutter as I move on to the ninth floor of the tower.

This might take a while.

Leon

"The walls should start several dozen meters behind this cliff," I tell the construction coordinator for the wall while pointing at the cliff that the dungeon entrance is built inside.

"City Lord Leon!" I hear someone shout as I am about to continue describing the designs I had thought of for the walls.

I raise my hand towards the construction coordinator and say, "Give me a second," before turning to the shout.

One of the Orcs can be seen running towards me from the direction of the inn with a not-so-pleased look on his face.

I sigh and wait for him to get closer before saying, "Let me guess. Trouble?"

The Orc looks surprised for a second before nodding his head.

Already?

It hasn't even been an entire day yet!

I sigh once more before turning to the construction coordinator and saying, "Let's continue this conversation later. I have to go deal with this."

The old man nods his head and walks off towards the Crafting Guild building.

"Let's go," I say to the Orc.

"...dare you say that, you filthy Orc!" I hear someone shout as I open the door to the inn.

When I look in the direction of the shout, I see several Human adventurers arguing with two of the Orcs in the middle of the inn with a crowd gathered around them.

Some of the crowd seems to notice my entrance and begins backing away from the commotion.

The Orcs stare dismissively at the Humans as one of them says, "It's just the truth," before they both begin to walk away.

This only seems to piss off the adventurers even more as one of them reaches for his sword and another throws a punch towards one of the Orcs.

"Stop this, now!" I shout out in anger while glaring at the adventurers.

The adventurers pause for a moment as they hear my shout.

They then turn to glare at me for interrupting as one of them says, "Stay out of this, City Lord."

I raise an eyebrow in amusement at his stupidity as I say, "If you want to continue, then by all means, you can continue after you leave my mountains."

The very same adventurer just scoffs and says, "And why would I leave the mountains?"

Another one of the adventurers nervously looks around at everyone surrounding the commotion.

Most of the witnesses are people I have interacted with before and know me to some extent, but these adventurers are new here by the looks of it.

"Just to make this absolutely clear, you have heard about my warning to not start trouble with the Orcs, correct?" I ask the adventurers, ignoring his question for now.

"Yes, and I find it ridiculous. Why would I ever treat these berserkers well?" The adventurer says before turning away from me and drawing his sword towards the Orcs again.

The other adventurers turn to the Orcs as well as they prepare for a fight.

The Orcs reach for their own weapons before glancing at me and the Orc next to me.

I sigh in exhaustion.

It was bound to come to this.

I raise my hand and state, "I call on my authority as the owner of these lands."

A small status screen appears over the heads of each and every person in the immediate area displaying their names.

"For the period of one year, the mercenaries Jacob, Richardson, Harrold, Lisbeth, Viktor, Billy, and Fredrick Rogers are all banished from the Lost Mountains," I declare as the status screens above each person I had called begin to glow a bright red.

The eyes of the adventurers I had listed widen in surprise before the adventurers themselves vanish in a flash of red light.

I turn away from the crowd and walk out of the inn without a word.

Such a pain.
