《Dungeon from the Void》B1 | Chapter 3 - Midgard

"Alright, is there anything in particular that I should know about the world right now?" I ask Dawn, searching for something to do while I wait for my mana to regenerate.
Dawn doesn't say anything for a few seconds – probably gathering her thoughts – before she says, "You don't really need to know very much about how the outside world is run until after you get an avatar at Tier 5, but I will teach you how each Tier is classified within the world of Midgard."
Dawn floats circles around the room as she continues, "Dungeons are incredibly rare and extremely dangerous for the intruders. Most people wouldn't want to risk their lives within the dungeons. This leaves the majority of the population stuck at Tier 1; also known as the Commoner Tier."
Dawn pauses to stop in front of me as she says, "After Tier 1, Tiers 2 all the way to Tier 4 are known as Knights. Someone is only truly considered a cultivator after they reach Tier 2."
"Why is that?" I interrupt her to ask.
"It is because the method to cultivate is a sort of 'expensive public knowledge' within most of the world. While some races will instinctively know how to cultivate, most of them will need to get it from some other way, so a lot of races will just sell it to anyone they can for a high price. This allows a large majority of the population to cultivate, but even with that, most of them still won't step foot into a dungeon either due to how hard a dungeon is to find, or the danger held within them," Dawn answers my question with enthusiasm.
I guess she likes that I am paying attention?
"How is someone able to tell what level or Tier someone is?" I ask, unsure as to how they would be able to tell them apart without a fight.

Dawn flares up a little bit at my question before answering in an oddly proud tone of voice, "I am glad that you are paying attention! There are two different ways to tell someone's level. One way would be to use an identification stone. These stones are not all that rare or hard to obtain, so many people have them. The other way would be through the skill 'identify.'"
"What is a skill?" I ask, not having heard about it before.
I think I do remember seeing something about a Skills List in my status though.
"A skill is something someone can obtain from attempting to do something hundreds of times, whether they succeed or not. It can also be obtained through knowledge of how something works, but getting a skill is extremely rare, even for cultivators. There are also things called 'talents,' but we will get into those later. First, however, I am going to finish the description of the tiers and their names," Dawn cuts off any other questions for now.
"A Tier 5 person is commonly known as a Lord or Lady, with Tier 6 being a Prince or Princess, Tier 7 being a King or Queen, Tier 8 being an Emperor or Empress, and Tier 9 being a Demigod or Demigoddess. I already mentioned before that Tier 10 beings are known as Gods, but what I didn't mention before is that there can only be one God for each race. Even with that, the majority of races do not have any Tier 10 cultivators. This is mostly because there isn't a Tier 10 Dungeon Core in all of Midgard, but it is also due to the massive amount of time that it would take for someone to cultivate to that level," Dawn explains before pausing to give me the chance to ask a couple of questions.

"What would you classify those unintelligent monsters you had mentioned before? The ones that would attack my core if they could. Also, how could they cultivate if they aren't intelligent?" I ask a couple of questions that have been eating at me for a while now.
"Well, that type of race is called Spawn, and they are one of the three types of races. They are unintelligent creatures who roam around killing any creatures they can find while also doing anything they can to get stronger. I'm actually not sure how they cultivate, but they are bad news for everyone. Many people speculate as to how they came about to begin with, but no one knows the truth of their origins. Most people don't really care though. They just kill them on sight without asking any questions," Dawn explains, sounding a little bewildered herself about the origins of the Spawn.
I hope that there aren't any Spawn nearby.
Wait, she said that they are only one of the three types of races?
"What are the other two types of races?" I ask Dawn.
"One of the other two types of races are known as the Demonic races. The most common of the Demonic races are the Demons, the Orcs, and the Goblins. Many of the Demonic races aren't as intelligent as the other races and would make easier intruders to kill, such as the Goblins, but the Demonic races also tend to have a higher individual strength than the other of those two types of races, known as the Angelic races," Dawn explains before floating around my core.
"The most common of the Angelic races would be the Humans, the Elves, and the Dwarves, and they tend to have higher populations than the Demonic Races. That being said, they are also more cowardly and don't dive into dungeons as much, leading to a lower individual strength than the Demonic races," Dawn finishes.
The world of Midgard feels like a near perfect world to be a dungeon core, considering how chaotic and war focused it is.
Dawn suddenly stops floating around my core and freezes in place.
"How much mana have you recovered so far? It's been about twelve hours since you had stopped working, so there should hopefully be enough to finish this room and make some changes to the original cave to make it more practical," Dawn points out to me.
Has it really been that long since we started?

Will he perish in this new world? Or will he thrive? Except for the first 4 chapters, Book 1 has been moved to Amazon Kindle Unlimited. Except for the first 4 chapters, Book 2 has been moved to Amazon Kindle Unlimited. If you do not have the financial means to purchase the books, then you may DM me on discord through my discord channel for a pdf version of the book. There is only one main protagonist, but the story does have more than one perspective that it is told from. It's mostly first person from the main protagonist and third person perspective for the livestreams. The beginning of the story has also been massively rewritten since most of the reviews as of 1/23/2022. The release schedule right now is dependent on my college classes and coursework, but I always try to keep it to at least one chapter every other day, if not one chapter every day. I do not write sexual content or harem stuff. I am also not very interested in writing romance, so if you think you might see some romance, then you are probably wrong unless it's only a slight hint at romance or a slow romance very far into the story. Lastly, know that I don't like long-winding antagonists that get on everyone's nerves and last throughout the entire story. And I do like plot twists, so if you are predicting something that you think is going to happen later on that you dislike, (particularly around the middle to end of book two) then it likely won't happen.
