Rob seemed to have grown closer to a rogue or an assassin from his evolution.

Dexterity

50

He unlocked the Dexterity stat which is usually seen in classes that need extreme precision, like a blacksmith or a thief. Thankfully, most of his skills have been upgraded.

His [Life Vision] now reaches a total range of 100 feet, and his shovel-specific skills are now open to any tool.

Rob’s new skills are something else entirely.

[Steal Bone A

The skill has been upgraded to do certain traits. The user may attempt to steal a bone from a creature. The success rate is based on the user's Dexterity. Certain bones may give certain temporary benefits.]

[Bone Bag B

The user is tied to a magical bag that can be upgraded over time. The quality of the bag does not affect the skill’s rank. The bag can be summoned at will and cannot leave the user’s side without permission.]

[Shadow Sneak C

The user can blend into shadows. Attacks emerging from the shadow have increased critical damage.

Critical damage: x3]

Ignoring Rob’s new bag and stealth ability, his [Steal Bone] is quite scary. The wording implies that he can steal a femur out of someone's leg before they notice it’s missing. I am forced to wonder which of his two traits changed this skill? His reassembling trait rather than his common undead trait is where I bet my money.

Duchess’s stats did not change, but strangely, she has a foreboding new trait.

[Mixed Bloodlines?

Recent evolutions have muddled the bloodlines of the user. This issue will have to be dealt with sooner rather than later.]

That fucking imitation dragon has given her blood indigestion. Hopefully, her next evolution will sort her out. I don’t know where to start with cleansing bloodlines. How does something have a “pure” bloodline? It sounds like something a royal family would implement through in family marriages.

Her Flying skill was upgraded by a large margin, and she got two new skills.

[Flight C

You fly faster and for more extended periods.

Flying speed is 100% faster. Stamina is consumed 100% slower]

[Breath Weapon A

The user has enough affinity to break out an elemental attack organically. The attack takes no mana but is powered by the user’s Vigor.

Damage: Varies]

[Serpent Scales. BC

The user's scales have been enhanced by draconicfairy might.

Elemental spell damage: 25%

Mental spells efficiency: 25%]

I have never seen or heard of anything with a strikeout besides the corrupted class advancement. Her bloodline conflict must be worse than I imagine. I look over at Duchess resting in the backyard. She seems content with whatever issue she has. It doesn't seem like she has any negatives.

Khan's stats and traits have not changed. Stormy weather and rage got a buff, and he gained two new skills that work well with his arsenal.

[Rage C:

When angered; +50% to Might and Agility

When fully enraged: +100% to Might and Agility]

[Stormy Weather C

In rainy conditions, increase stats by 25%]

[Forecast C

When angered, create a localized storm around the User.]

[Feeding Frenzy A

Gain 1% increase to damage per creature attacking in tandem with the user.]

I don’t know who pissed off Khan, but he has some serious anger issues. His entire species must have evolved to be angry at something.

I held off on memorizing the last beast before leveling up. I quickly read up on what a [Hippo-Griff] is.

~

It seems to be a half-hippo half-eagle creature. Terrifyingly aggressive creatures that hunt the skies in packs.

Unique Servitude B lv1 (4/5) (NEW)

Any creature can be designated as a servant with their consent or if they cannot resist. A servant is necessary for other Unique Master skills to work. All servants know the location of their Master.

Servants must be unique in some way. All unique servants gain a passive +10% to all stats.

Servants cannot have a higher Spirit stat than the Designator.

Registered Servants: Flash Gordon. Rob. Duchess. Khan.

Heal Anything U lv1

You can spend mana to heal any target

Mana to Health conversion 1-5

Master’s Gift C

The master may graciously bestow a boon upon his servants. A servant will gain access to one of the master’s possessions and will be able to use it.

Skills can be given but require the master to pay double the activation cost before the servant can use them. Skills return after the servant activates them.

Promote Piece U (0/1)

A king needs an army. A king needs a guard. A king needs a knight. A king needs an adviser. A king needs a queen. No good monarchy is ruled by a king alone.

~

Is the 10% buff to my creatures’ stats the effect the class prompt told me about? “I can only tame abnormal creatures,” but they are stronger? It doesn’t seem worth it. At least I got some splendid skills out of this.

Strangely, my healing skill didn’t rank up naturally. Instead, it transformed into a unique skill. Possibly, it wasn’t “strong” enough to be considered an unusual skill at a conversion of 1 to 3. I am pleased with the possibility of still getting levels and possibly ranking them up again.

I can mess with [Master’s Gift] later, but for now, this new Unique skill is getting all of my attention. The name sounds like it’s from chess, but the skill gives me no direction on how to use it. If I would give my creatures a role in my “kingdom,” Khan would be the army, Flash Gordon would be my personal guard, Rob would be my knight, and Duchess would be my advisor.

I only have one slot, and if it’s like [Unique Servitude], I can only promote one of my tamed beasts.

I designate Flash Gordon as my personal guard.

[Promote Piece U (0/1) > Promote Piece U (1/1)]

[Flash Gordon is now a Rook.]

[Flash Gordon gains the trait Rook.]

[Flash Gordon gains three unique skills.]

[Trait: Rook U

The user is designated as a rook, the protector of the king. Current King: Ellis Vincere]

[Skill: Fortify U

The user’s defense is doubled.]

[Skill: Faithful Protector U

The user may take a hit for another. Regardless of limitations.

Mana Cost: 20% of maximum mana.

[Skill: Living Fortress U

The user can take a stand against any foe.

The user doubles their size and quadruples their weight.

Mana Cost: One mana per second, mana cost stacks multiplicative.]

Holy shit. Is this the power of Flash Gordon’s ten luck? My one skill grants him three powerful skills, all ranked Unique? This is the fourth-best day of my life. I need to sit down.

I got a head rush and almost fainted from witnessing Flash Gordon growing so much more, once again. I decided that looking at status windows any longer gives me retina damage. I pull out my phone and give Anabel a call.

~

As the only necromancer in the institute, Anabel was glad to find someone that shared similar interests. At first, I was using her to gain easy access to [Necrotic] damage, but her insights into the class intrigued me.

She told me that she wants to focus on puppeteering, a focus of necromancy that controls many bodies at their fingertips. The mana constructs of skeletons are a complicated subject, basically willing necrotic energies into shapes to fit your purpose. Forms of undead are by far the easiest to manage.

An object created by a necromancer’s summoned miasma usually turns into a cursed object. Her specialization is way more dangerous than I initially realized.

I got so enthralled with learning the facets of necromancy I completely forgot to ask her to damage me repeatedly with her death magic. I did learn a few more things, including that I have absolutely no skills with the art. I may have some skeletal affinity from one of my titles, but that doesn’t translate into necromancy skill.

The second thing was that a [Skeleton Grave Robber] usually gets stronger the longer it is ‘alive.’ it was chalked up to its growing collection of bodies that it would steal from graveyards and battlefields. I have the next course of action already planned then.

~

At midnight, Flash Gordon, Rob, and I head to the cemetery. Much to my dismay, the gates are heavily warded, and the walls are faithfully watched by guard dogs. Any other tamer might be able to appease the beasts long enough to disable the wards, but dogs notoriously hate me.

I decided to count my losses and head back home, but then an idea formed in my mind.

If I cannot rob existing dead bodies, I might as well make new dead bodies to take from.

Rob follows behind me stealthily, using his brand new skill as I pretend to be lost in the “bad part” of town. The city is still recovering, and some places still have ongoing riots, so I should take advantage of this.

Active riots have enforcers cordoning off the area, so those places aren’t good, but the instability of the city will bring out the rats from the sewers.

Speaking of, four men and a woman surround me as I walk down the street. I saw them coming, but I pretended to not notice their sloppy encirclement. I shouldn’t attack first. Regardless of the riots, I am in a city with laws. Me attacking them for no reason will incriminate me and lose me any backing I have from the institute.

I will bait them masterfully into attacking me first.

“Hey kid, you lost?”

“Yes. Do you know where the nearest pawn shop is, or if it’s still open? I have some rare and expensive materials. I need the money to pay for my family's healer fees. They got terribly injured during the riots”

Their eyes flash with greed as the ones behind me start to pull out their daggers. The burly man next to the woman speaks up.

“We do. We run a pawn shop just down the road. We can lead you there if you want.”

I can tell he is lying through his teeth, but I just nod and let them take me somewhere. Of course, they usher me into an alleyway.

The guy pushes me against the wall, and I don’t resist.

“Alright, now hand over your valuables, and you won't get gutted!” The four other hooligans still surround me. They start trying to act tough and threatening. It doesn’t work.

I silently pull out my flip phone as the crowd goes silent for a second.

“Ay yo, what the fuck is that.”

I think this is enough to count as self-defense. I sucker punch the closest guy to me in the gut. As he collapses, a different thug screams out in pain as one of his arms limply hangs from the shoulder. Rob stands behind him, holding a glistening red bone.

I quickly incapacitate them all with Flash Gordon before any attention is drawn.
