《Humans Must Adapt!》Chapter 8: Grinding for 4 hours and 19 minutes.

I spent an hour using [Scientific Insight+] randomly. None of my skills use any mana so can spam them limitlessly, excluding [Donkey Punch].
[Dead Nyx Trees.
Nyx trees can be harvested for valuable materials, they only grow in places that don't get sunlight. This tree has died and has no value.]
[Tombstone.
A grim reminder of what all mortals have to face eventually. This tombstone is too old to see the inscription carved in the stone.]
[Grave Dirt
Low ranking material, usually used in necromancy.]
[Rock
It's a rock, not as cool as Flash Gordon.]
Speaking of Flash Gordon, I wonder if he leveled as well. I look at his status with [Scientific Insight+]

Evolution!
Flash Gordon can eventually evolve!
I hope he evolves a mouth, so he can talk back to me, I get people looking at me like I'm crazy if I start having conversations with Flash Gordon.
*Crunch Crunch Crunch*
Many things are approaching, I quickly climb up a Nyx tree and hide inside a hollow-out hole. Just in time, a group of skeletons walks by the tree I’m hiding in.
I pull out my p*kedex, I mean I activate [Lexicon] and read the entry that was added for skeletons.
[Species: Common Undead
Variant: Skeleton
Rank: Ranges from F to E
The Common Undead variant, aptly named Skeleton, is a bipedal reanimated corpse that is stripped of its flesh. They can be found naturally in places of great death or be made by necromancers using real bodies as a catalyst.
F rank skeletons have a level cap of 10, while E rank skeletons have a level cap of 50. The only difference is in levels. Skeletons are only dangerous in high numbers.
All wild Common Undead will attack the living on sight, The God of the Dead, and his endless envy for life influences the weak wills of the undead.

Evolution Criteria:
The skeleton, much like the zombie, has a wide and branching path to choose from when they evolve. Evolutions for these creatures less rely on levels or rank, but more on environment and diet. It’s difficult to evolve skeletons into a specific path. Undead is one of the most versatile and numerous types of creatures.]
That's a lot to take in, what's with the mention of one of the Gods! Who found out that piece of lore, and why did they write that in my book!
The skeletons pass and I hop out of my hole.
I notice something strange, it seems that the skeletons of this fracture cannot physically see or hear anything. They use their [Detect Life] as a crutch to find their enemies. As long as I keep my distance from the bigger groups, I can try to kill the solo ones for exp.
After some trial and error, I made a brilliant plan. Flash Gordon is pretty hefty, weighing about 3 pounds. He is pretty spherical, so I came up with an idea. I will stand a little more than 30 feet away and chuck Flash Gordon at passing skeletons to try and take them out.
I learned about another feature [Scientific Insight+] has, it can tell me the levels of creatures as long as they are not too much higher than mine. I can also see an approximation of their health. Using this information, I targeted lower-level Skeletons.
A level 5 Skeleton takes about half their health points from a single throw from Flash Gordon. I’d then kite them around a tree and use my blade’s reach to kill the skeleton before it even has a chance to hit me.
I kept doing this until I reached level 10.

[Heal Anything D

Flash Gordon has done nothing but make my life better. I use about 15 points of mana to ‘Heal’ my clothes. I’m really glad I got a healing skill, I essentially have 140 health points now.
I should start moving, getting levels made me forget about the time. I must have spent hours running around that tree and chucking Flash Gordon at Skeletons. I quickly check Flash Gordon’s [Status] before moving out.

…
I just notice that Flash Gordon gets 5 attributes per level and I get 6 (excluding my [Strong Spirit] skill) I wonder why. Is it to do with our anatomy? I know higher-ranked beings have better stats, and Flash Gordon doesn't have a rank listed. He’s also reached his level cap…
Is Flash Gordon a ranked F rock? Impossible!
I ignore the glaring evidence and focus on his insane Vigor stat instead. I’d have to dump my entire mana pool five times to fill him up! How does a rock be more vigorous than other rocks? Is it a factor in density? I drop Flash Gordon, he plummets to the ground and kicks up [Grave Dust] into the air.
That can't be healthy to breathe in.
When the dust settles, Flash Gordon is halfway submerged into the ground. I should try this experiment somewhere where the ground isn't made up of loose dirt.
I do a few more tests and none of my skills tells me how to evolve Flash Gordon, I should research evolution in rocks more thoroughly when I get out of here.
That's right, I need to get out of here.
~
I find a brick wall that stretches out as far as the eye can see in either direction. Seven feet fall with 5-inch iron barbs lining the top. With my 30 Might, I hop on top of the wall, making sure my feet avoid the barbs.
On the other side of the wall are more dirt, trees, and gravestones. I jump back down and slump against the wall.
It’s been hours and the landscape is endlessly repeating. I cross my legs and put my backpack in front of me.
Opening the zipper, I reach in and pull out the snacks I prepared earlier. There weren’t any dried rations in the pantry, so I packed a smashed peanut butter and jelly sandwich, smashed grapes, a smashed banana, and a smashed bag of chips.
They weren’t damaged when I packed them, but my rough tumbling around must have done a number on my food. I eat my sad dinner.
I look down at my body, I'm caked in [Grave Dirt], pieces are missing from my new leather jacket. Repairing everything would be too much mana. I should conserve my mana in case of emergencies.
I could have fixed my smashed food, but it is useless since it’s getting digested anyway.
After a moment of rest, I walk along the wall, Flash Gordon picks the direction that we walk in.
