Pulled from a hopeless (if powerful) future back to the moment of Earth’s integration to try to improve the outcome, Serenity has met unexpected threats and unexpected allies - even friends. Everything is different this time.

It’s been six weeks since the first Tutorial.

It’s been one success after another; humans have discovered how to find portals and even found out that they can use the same technology to locate large-scale spells. The Sterath in Washington, DC have been not only defeated but turned to the assistance of the locals. 34 portals have been closed, and negotiations are happening about at least two others. Part of a key to the remaining portals’ location is known, and the rest is being actively sought.

Across Earth, thousands are dead or badly injured by the beings that came out of the portals. Most had never even been to a Tutorial before they died. Hundreds of invasion portals remain, and the longer they are open, the more people will die.

Worse than that, the return of magic to Earth is waking old, long-lost secrets. One is already loose, growing its power as it hides from those who might stop it. The forces that once suppressed these dangers have grown brittle, for they have their own secrets that may prevent them from completing their ancient task.

Events balance on a sharp edge; Serenity will be one of the people who sets which way they fall.
