《Aro's daughter: Isabella swan》Chapter 10

It had only been two days since I had left daddy's side but it felt like an eternity. I missed him so much. Caius hadn't left my side in days. Not even to feed. I could tell he was starting to feel the burn in his throat. His eyes were almost black as well. He needed to feed soon. But Caius was stubborn. He wouldn't leave my side. I tried to convince him to feed but he wouldn't budge. Looking up at Caius from my spot beside him on his bed I sigh seeing his dark black eyes. I gently stroke his cheek and Caius leans into my hand. "Caius. You need to feed. Please!" I cry. Caius smiles slightly and pulls me close to him. "I'll be fine Mia Stella." He whispers. I bury my face in his chest and whimper. "I hate this Caius. So much. I hate everything that's happened." I whimper. Caius shushes me gently. "I know cara Mia." Caius says gently stroking my hair. "I hate what your doing to yourself Caius. It's not good for you. To go so long without feeding. I know you want to protect me but you have to feed!" I cry. Caius sighs and buries his face in my hair breathing deeply. "I can't bella. I know you to well. If I leave you'll go back to your father. I won't risk your life." Caius says. He was right. I would. "I know Caius. But this can't go on. Uncle Marcus is with daddy now. Please. Go feed and he will protect me. Please Caius. I miss him. So much." I cry. Tears streamed down my face. Caius sighs and slowly meets my eyes. "Please Caius. You need to hunt. And you know that daddy would never hurt me. Uncle Marcus will be there the whole time." Caius sighs and I could see his resolve was faltering. "Caius please!" I sob. Caius sighs and holds me close. "An hour." Caius says. I look up at him with a teary smile. "An Marcus has to stay within two feet of you. If aro hurts you. I'll kill him myself. Regardless if he's your father" Caius says. I hug him tightly and wipe my tears. "I know Caius." I say. Caius sighs gently brushing my hair back. He looks into my eyes and gently kisses me. I happily kiss back. "Marcus is waiting for us." Caius says. I nod knowing uncle Marcus had heard with his vampire hearing. Caius gently lifts me into his arms and runs me to daddy's room. Once there Caius goes in first and I slowly followed. Caius kept an arm in front of me and kept his eyes on daddy. Who I couldn't see. Caius sighs and moves and a cry escapes me as I see daddy. I let out a sob upon seeing how badly he had aged. His long black hair was gray. His face wrinkled. I cry and rush to daddy's side. Daddy weakly groans and opens his blue and red eyes. Caius growls softly as daddy moves. His eyes travel to me and his eyes widen. I dive into daddy's arms and hug him tightly and sob. Daddy weakly wraps his arms around me. "Shhh... bam...bino..." Daddy chokes out. Caius watches as I cry into daddy's chest and relaxes slightly once he sees daddy wasn't going to hurt me. "Daddy!" I cry hugging him tighter. "I'm... ok bam...bino..." Daddy whispers. "No your not daddy. Look at you. This is all her fault!" I sob. Tears cascaded down my face. Daddy shushes me and rests his head weakly on mine. Daddy weakly consuls me and comforts me as I sob. "I... know... bam...bino...." Daddy whispers holding me tighter. I sob into daddy's chest and cling to him with all my strenght. I didn't want to let go of him for fear he'd disappear. Caius sighs before running out to go hunt. Daddy weakly lifts my chin and makes me meet his blue and red eyes. "No... No... more... tears... bam...bino..." Daddy whispers. I whimper and lay my head on his chest as daddy weakly shushes me. That's how me and daddy stay for hours. Me curled up in his arms until finally exhaustion consumes me.

Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series. Its already free on Amazon, so I thought I'd post chapters here for the good folks of Royal Road. If you don't want to wait for updates or would prefer to read it on Kindle, you can pick it up for free here: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B01066TLC0
