'Sometimes I just wanna cave
And I don't wanna fight
I try and I try and I try and I try and I try
Just hold me, I'm lonely'

A week has passed by and Ace was still mad at his parents even after me telling him not to be. At first it was nice, now it's just childish.
"You remember about the business party?" Ace says, struggling with the tie. "I mean, I'm not even a business man. It's boring work, I don't know why I have to wear a tie and pretend I care."
"Have you been complaining more lately or am I just imagining things? Are you on your man period?" I tease while tying his tie.
"Can you come?"
"To the party that's gonna start in thirty minutes?"
His face is hopeful and smiling, did he think I agreed?
"Sweetheart, I'm in your pajamas, haven't shaved in days, or showered for that matter, and I have no outfit," I explain slowly, he's really beginning to sound like a child.
"You look great, you can get ready quickly can't you? You look stunning either way," he pleads.
It takes me a minute before realizing what's been happening.
"Your parents are gonna be there, aren't they?"
He sighs. "Just for the opening of the deal, they'll leave when the party actually starts."
I roll my eyes, my lady sixth sense is never wrong. "Fine, if I still look like a thumb and embarrass you, it's not my fault."
As I'm walking away, he says, "you can be the best looking thumb there!"
After doing basic needs of hygiene, I chose to wear a knitted dress with an added belt, and mid thigh black boots with heels. I curled my hair and added mascara and gloss which didn't take that long.

I walk down the stairs with Ace waiting for me, wearing the same colored tie as my dress. I'm starting to think he does it on purpose somehow.
"Gorgeous," he pecks my neck and looks into my eyes adoringly before taking off.
Once we got to the place, cameras were flashing our faces causing me to panic. The flashes were blinding me and I couldn't see straight.
"Just hold onto my arm and put the shades on," Ace whispers in my ear while the people scream questions at us.
As he says, I cling onto his arm until we make it through to the outdoorsy event. I spot his parents and start walking towards them still holding onto Ace.
"Mr. King, nice to see you again," I ignore Ava and start making conversation with Richard.
"Oh dear, it's Richard please."
"Impolite manner," Ava mutters.
"Mrs. King, beautiful as always," I forcefully greet.
"I would feel like that if my son would return my calls."
"Your son would return your calls if you understood him and respected that he's a full grown adult," Ace responds.
Some time in the argument, a friend of Ace pulls me out of it and starts introducing me to other business partners. It was horrifying, I couldn't tell him I can't interact with people cause he would laugh. So instead, i felt like I was on the verge of a panic attack but said nothing. Worth it.
In the distance, I saw Ava hugging Ace and looking happy so it felt like something was right. They all gathered up to cut a string after everyone made their speech and the party started.
It was already night time and freezing temperatures, plus I couldn't find Ace anywhere. I went to go find him, and everyone would offer me a drink. However, I'm a legal person. Even though my boyfriend is a mafia leader and a millionaire that can get me out of anything, I refused all drinks.

Although, when I see Ace talking and laughing with another girl when he is known for not speaking to anyone, it pains my heart. I was the one to have the way to his smile, and it hurts. But I also hate people that jump to conclusions so I go up to them.
"Hey," I direct it towards Ace but then nod and smile at the other girl.
"Ray, hi," he seems shocked.
"I'm guessing she doesn't know who I am?" The brunette asks and Ace shakes his head.
"I'm Emma, King's... friend," she hesitates.
"Ray, really nice to meet you," i give my best smile.
"She's my girlfriend," Ace puts a hand around my waist, but I somehow don't like that he's showing me off.
"Finally settled down huh?"
"Couldn't sleep around forever."
"We could've tried," she lowers her voice and looks up at him in a weird way.
"I don't mean to intrude so I'm just going to check on everyone since the host is busy," i politely say my goodbyes but dang, it still hurts.
"Darling, have a frin-trin-drink," a very drunk lady yells above the music.
"I'm really okay, you should probably sit down," she laughs me off and I go order a mango smoothie while watching people dance.
Hours later, still made it without one sip of alcohol which was an accomplishment. Now I see why peer pressure is a thing. But, I was getting tired and my head was starting to hurt from the smell that has developed in the area.
I go find Ace one more time hoping to just see him since he hasn't looked for me or even asked if I was okay since last time.
What I see breaks my heart to pieces, and you guessed it, him and the brunette were kissing. It hurt the bottom of my stomach, which i didn't even know was a thing.
I go up to them, still trying to think that it's fine and I shouldn't jump to conclusions. I tap Ace's shoulder and he pulls away from the kiss, his face goes pale.
"I-I just w-wanted to t-tell you I'm l-leaving. It's g-get..ting cold and l-lonely so," I stutter probably because my fingers are actual blue, and because I'm on the verge of crying.
"Ray-"
"I just w-wanna know," I cut him off. "I've n-never done this b-before, so I just wanna k-know if this is what's supposed t-to happen? Am I supposed to f-feel jealous and cry over y-you until you apologize so I m-magically o-open my arms wide for you?" I glare at him, still stuttering.
"I, Ray I'm-"
"It's okay, I'll stay out of your way tonight. Go be young and wild, have fun the way I can't let you have fun," before I leave, I look at brunette and smile with the fakest smile. "Really nice meeting you brunette."
I quickly pick up a taxi, my lips are blue, my hand is purple, I already know this isn't a good sign. I tell the taxi Rose's place, knowing Rose will pay him later and allow me to stay.
I look out the window, trying to stop the shivering of my teeth and my thoughts were
I could use a drink right now.
