"Why Taehyung? Why the fuck did you agree to that?" Jungkook spoke, his hands in his hair and the boy shaking his head in a disapproving way. The brunette looked at the grey haired boy in front of him with a disbelieving look on his face and Taehyung was pretty sure he even saw a hint of anger sparking up in the younger's eyes.
"How can you continue to let him control you? I really don't understand it." Jungkook continued while locking eyes with Taehyung, looking for answers inside the other boy's eyes. The younger boy had been furious the moment Taehyung had told him what he and his "ex" had talked about yesterday. Yet another time Bogum had managed to succesfully bend Taehyung exactly the way he had wanted him to and Jungkook was beyond mad about that fact.
"I can't believe you even promised him to not be with anyone else. Can't you see he's manipulating you? That stupid promise is like buying ice cream and promising not to eat it. It doesn't make any fucking sense!" Jungkook continued to voice his thoughts, anger slowly taking control of him. Last night he had been overjoyed that Taehyung was going to break up with asshole Bogum. The brunette had literally jumped in the air out of joy when Taehyung had told him he had decided to cut things off with his abusive boyfriend. However while the two of them weren't officially a couple anymore, Bogum had been smart enough to make Taehyung promise his loyalty to him in order to keep him bound to himself.
Taehyung sat motionless on Jungkook's couch, taking in all the words Jungkook was throwing at him. The younger's anger was clearly hearable in his voice and slowly tears were starting to gather in the grey haired boy's eyes. The more Jungkook said the worse Taehyung began to feel. Nobody understood what he had done, not Jimin, not Jungkook and not even himself...
Last night Taehyung had told Jimin exactly the same story he had told Jungkook today and to say his best friend had been mad at him would be a complete understatement. Jimin too didn't understand why Taehyung would agree to such a ridiculous promise. Jimin knew Taehyung better than anyone and he knew damn well that the grey haired boy didn't come back at any promises he made, he just wasn't the type to do so.
Even Taehyung himself was starting to see what he had done to himself and how ridiculous this all sounded. He had finally gotten a chance to free himself from all the misery he had experienced lately and he blew it completely. The moment Taehyung had stepped inside his old apartment and locked eyes with Bogum the older had managed to completely bewitch him with those mesmerising orbs of his and he made Taehyung hope that one day they could go back together to how they had once been. Like that was ever going to happen. Now everyone was mad at him and he would end up all alone.

Soft sobs started to leave Taehyung's mouth and a set of tears slowly began to leave the singer's eyes, wetting his cheeks in the process. "I know I'm stupid okay!" The grey haired boy shouted, more to himself than to Jungkook. Upon hearing the sudden outburst of the older boy Jungkook immediately stopped talking while looking at Taehyung with a shocked look on his face. Had he gone too far?
"I know I am as dumb as the dumbest person on earth okay? I'm just fucking scared Jungkook. I'm scared of losing everything I have!" Taehyung shouted before raising his hands and putting them in front of his eyes, sobs leaving his mouth continuously. Jungkook's eyes visibly softened at the sight of the broken boy in front of him and he shifted a bit closer to the grey haired boy before wrapping his arms around his petite frame, offering him as much comfort as possible.
"Shhhhh baby. There's no need to cry. We'll fix this whole mess together, okay?" Jungkook spoke while starting to rub circles on the older's back in a soothing way. The brunette had in no way meant for Taehyung to start crying and he definitely regretted the words he had thrown at him now. Taehyung wasn't dumb or naïve, he was just a broken boy trying desperatly to latch onto something or someone in order to get some stability back in his life.
"I-I'm scared." Taehyung sobbed, tears leaking out of his eyes continuously, wetting Jungkook's black shirt in the process. "I'm scared I'm losing everything. My home, my future, myself and even you." The grey haired boy admitted, burying his face in the other's shirt while Jungkook wrapped his arms a little tighter around the older's broken figure.
For two years straight Bogum had been Taehyung's past, present and future. The older male had been Taehyung's entire life for all the time the two of them had been together. Giving up his relationship with him meant crossing away two years of his life. Sure it might be what is best for him but that didn't mean that Taehyung could just do that this easily. The boy he had once fallen in love with had been gone for a long time. However yesterday he suddenly showed up again and while the grey haired boy could see clearly now that Bogum had used that side of himself to make Taehyung agree with that stupid promise, part of the grey haired boy somehow still had a weakness for that side of Bogum.
"Baby I'm not going anywhere. Not during the competition and not after it. I hate to break it to you but you're stuck with me." Jungkook then spoke, a playfull tone lacing the younger's voice. Immediately a small chuckle left Taehyung's mouth and he looked up before locking eyes with Jungkook. "Promise?" The grey haired boy asked, needing that small bit of security in order to truly believe the other's words. "Promise." Jungkook spoke, a small smile playing at his lips.

Taehyung visibly smiled once he heard the younger's answer and he was quick to wipe his tears away and look to the ground. "I'm quite stupid huh." The singer said, a hint of sadness mixed with embarrassement lacing his voice. He regretted the promise he had made Bogum big time now. Jimin and Jungkook had given him a mirror and showed him exactly the tricks Bogum had used against him. Bogum had set a trap and Taehyung had walked right into it, wishing for something that wasn't there anymore.
"You are not stupid Tae. You are just a broken boy who sometimes needs his friends to guide him during hard times and that's okay. It doesn't make you weak or stupid, if anything I think you are one of the strongest persons I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. You've been through a lot, yet you're still smiling like there is no tomorrow. For me that is a reflection of true power." Jungkook spoke, a genuine tone lacing his voice.
Taehyung smiled upon hearing those words before he looked down at the ground once again. He was not free today but he definitely would be free soon. Free from the trap in which Bogum had managed to capture him in once again.
"Now let's just forget about all of this for a few hours and focus on what you actually came here for. We need to practice!" Jungkook then spoke, changing the topic completely. It was as clear as crystal to the brunette that talking about their current topic wasn't going to do anything good for Taehyung at the moment and he had gotten his point across. Now it was time to focuss on making sure Taehyung would go through to the semi finals.
Taehyung nodded enthusiastically before smiling. Liveshow two wasn't far away anymore and before he knew it he would be standing on that amazing stage once again. "So for the next liveshow only two members of my team will go through so we have to nail your performance okay? Once you make it through this round the next won't be a problem since I get to decide which member of my team I will take with me to the finals." Jungkook spoke before sending a wink Taehyung's way. "Since you're the best I have that really isn't a hard choice for me."
Taehyung blushed upon that statement and looked away while smiling slightly. For him it was such a big compliment to be called the best singer in Jungkook's team. He had of course heard all the others sing too and they were all amazing as well. Compared to them Taehyung found his own voice rather plain. However Jungkook definitely thought different about that fact.
"Have you thought about a song for this round yet? I spoke to Namjoon and he finished your own song so for the finals so you don't have to worry about that anymore." The brunette said while locking eyes with Taehyung, his eyes displaying a calm and intrested look.
Taehyung smiled before he nodded. "Yeah, I know exactly what song I want to sing." The grey haired boy spoke and before the two of them knew it they were practicing that particular song for two hours straight. Both of them laughed a lot and Jungkook gave some usefull tips to Taehyung when it came to the singing part. Not once did Taehyung think of Bogum again that day, how could he? The jackpot was sitting right in front of him, Jungkook was all he needed right now. The boy was like a magician when it came to Taehyung. He always knew just what to say to make a shitty day into one to never forget.
"Do you want to stay over tonight? I'm free tomorrow and I hoped we could spend some time together?" Jungkook asked as soon as they were done with practicing. Taehyung was slightly out of breath due to all the singing he had done today but he smiled and nodded nonetheless. He considered himself so damn lucky that Jungkook even wanted to spend time with him and he'd be absolutely nuts to decline his offer.
"I'd love to." Taehyung answered before he fished his phone out of his jeans pocket and quickly typed a message to Jimin saying he wasn't coming back to his apartment tonight. Taehyung smiled at the thought of his best friend. The grey haired boy knew damn well that the blonde had a date today with none other than Yoongi and he guessed that the extra alone time he and Jungkook had just given them would be very much appreciated by both Jimin and Yoongi.
Jungkook's eyes visibly lit up with excitement the moment Taehyung had said that he would love to spend time with him and he smiled happily before he walked over to Taehyung and wrapped the older male in a tight hug. Taehyung's face immediately displayed a surprised look, however he quickly adjusted himself to the situation and was quick to hug the younger boy back before closing his eyes softly. Jungkook was without a doubt the one who made him feel the safest he had ever felt. Maybe the reason why Bogum and Taehyung would never work out was because fate had provided a new path for Taehyung to take....
