oovin sat at the school field with tears in her eyes as the wind blew through her hair. she sniffled, attempting to wipe her tears with her sleeves but more kept coming out of her eyes.
she gave up and just let her tears come out, "w-why.." she mumbled to herself
"soovin.."
soovin jumped at the voice before turning her head only to see yuna standing there.
she turned her head, wiping her tears away trying to compose her quickly but yuna already heard it.
yuna walked to her and sat next to the girl, "don't hide it..i already heard"
soovin chuckled bitterly, clenching onto her sweater's sleeve
"what happened soovin?..i'm here for you" yuna held onto her hand without hesitation which made soovin catch her breath and try her best to explain what was going on
she composed herself, taking in a deep breath and beginning to explain to yuna what was happening, "saerom.."
"saerom?..noh saerom?" yuna questioned and she nodded
"i lied to you yuna" yuna tilted her head, a bit confused, "i didn't come from a private school. i actually went to the same school as saerom" yuna listened, "i transferred to this school because..someone made do it"
"what are you talking about?"
"saerom..i like her..i like her as a crush" soovin finally confessed, "god damn it, i've liked her for so long but i've never told her and i never told anyone else. at my old school, i was first in the class for studies and the person who was in second was jealous of that, that she could never beat my score. she ended up finding out i liked saerom and she threatened me with that. saying that i either drop my ranks or i transfer schools and if i don't do either then she'll expose the fact that i like saerom. i didn't want then because i knew how much i would've been made fun of..so i chose the later and transferred schools here. now knowing that her and sunghoon probably have a thing going makes me..jealous because i know that could never be me and her"

yuna felt sympathy for the girl. yuna let go of her hand and at the moment soovin was terrified that yuna was going to leave her and make fun of her but instead yuna wrapped her arm around her shoulder, patting her head, "it's okay soovin"
this caused soovin to be shocked and proceed to cry even more into yuna's shoulder.
"s-so..you don't think im weird..for liking girls?" soovin sniffled
"of course not. why would you think you're weird. you like whoever your heart wants to like. guy or girl, doesn't matter. it doesn't change who you are soovin"
soovin smiled at the comforting words at the girl, feeling better because of her.
yuna then stood up and held out her hand, "now let's go back. they're probably announcing the winners"
soovin wiped the rest of her tears, nodding with a smile on her face
♡
and to no surprise, the winners of the dancing portion were the 7 boys. sadly only the benefit of not participating in the student festival would only apply to jake, jungwon, heeseung, and sunghoon since they went to the school and the other three; sunoo, jay, and riki did not but they were happy just to perform
"you guys did so good!" yuna exclaimed, clapping excitedly before hugging sunghoon and jake tightly
"we performed too if you didn't notice!" sunoo whined and yuna released the two boys before chuckling
"you guys all did good" she reassured them
"uhm..can you excuse me" sunghoon bowed, excusing himself from the 8 and left them to go somewhere else
yuna looked over at soovin and she just gave a reassuring smile that she was okay.
yuna just nodded before looking at heeseung. the boy smiled at her and she grinned at the boy, beginning a conversation with the girl.

jake needed to finally just realize that yuna had moved on already and as much as he wanted to be selfish, he had to accept it. if yuna was going to be happy, then he would be as cliche as it sounded.
"soovin" jake called out. she hmmed, "want to walk out together?"
she nodded before the two excused themselves from the group and left them
"so why'd you leave?" jake asked her as he noticed her absent after their performance
"huh? oh, my stomach was just hurting" she shrugged it off, not really wanting to tell anyone else about her secret.
"your puffy red eyes say otherwise" he pointed out and she quickly covered them with her hands, "also i saw you looking at the crowd constantly..looking at a certain someone"
jake had no idea who the certain someone was but he saw it.
soovin was stunned at how observant the boy was
"i won't force you to tell me" he chuckled, "but if you need to talk then i'll be here"
soovin grinned and nodded, "thank you jake"
"of course"

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
