friday rolled around quickly with the group of 4 friends all being busy with their own things
soovin was busy with student council and getting everything ready for the 'talent' show and the upcoming festival
sunghoon was busy with his ice skating practices along with practicing his dance routine with heeseung and his friends
yuna was busy with her project along with track and now that it was friday, she was worrying about her date with heeseung. the two originally called it a hang out but heeseung decided to just man up and ask her on another date which yuna gladly agreed too
jake was also busy so nothing was new. he had studying sessions with his other friends of his advanced classes, soccer games, helping soovin and student council, and now that it was friday, he had his date with soovin.
this was the date where jake would decide whether or not he truly liked soovin. if he no longer felt the same, he didn't want to lead her on anymore and hurt her by continuing to date and if he did truly like yuna, he didn't want to use soovin as a distraction to get over yuna
despite his mind telling him he didn't like yuna, his heart knew he did and jake also did but his body was all over the place in how they feel for the girl
"what time is your practice?" yuna asked as she closed her locker and stood beside jake who was leaned against the lockers
jake looked at the time at his phone then at yuna, "in about 15 minutes. do you have somewhere to be?"
"i need to meet up with jiung and taeyang but i told them i'll go separately to the library" yuna responded and rested her head on his shoulder, "i feel like this week has been so hectic"
"it has" jake chuckled, using his free hand to pat her hand, "this week felt long and super short at the same time"
"i know right" she sighed, "you know what sunghoon, you and i should do? and soovin if she can come?" he hmmed, turning his head to look at her, "we should go to the beach. it's been awhile since we've been too one"
"aren't you scared of the ocean?" he asked her
yuna lifted her head from his shoulder and widened her eyes, "wow you actually remembered that i am"

jake nodded, "why wouldn't i remember?"
'it's the reason why i never asked to go back to the ocean. i didn't wanna see you scared again'
"the last time we went last year; you wouldn't even let the water touch you at all and jumped into my arms"
yuna smacked her head, "that was embarrassing but i want to try and go in the water again! hopefully maybe i can get over my fear or whatever but i want to go with you guys. oh! and your other friends as well; sunoo, riki, jungwon, jay, and heeseung!"
jake's heart once again hurt at the mention of heeseung's name
'she literally just said his name. why are you even-' jake shook his head, throwing away the thoughts
"i'm sure they wouldn't mind hanging out" jake smiled, "maybe after the festival, we can all go"
"yay!" yuna smiled, clapping her hands, "ah right!" yuna moved and proceeded to move and stand in front of the boy who was still leaning on the lockers behind him.
jake just stared at the girl, "yes?"
"should i dye my hair another color?" she asked, tilting her head, "i like the orange but it's hard finding outfits that match my outfit. i mean" she stood back a little, holding out her arms to the side of her, "come on. a red plaid skirt with a dark blue blazer and a white shirt? this with orange hair? yah no"
jake was going to respond but instead a few friends ran by, one of them hitting yuna causing her to be pushed forward
"sorry!" they yelled but continued to run.
yuna was pushed forward and jake didn't hesitate to catch her in his arms. jake held onto yuna's forearms while her hands were placed on his chest to stop her from crashing more into him.
"you good?" jake asked her, his heart now racing.
yuna nodded as she stood up straight, fixing her hair and clothes, "yah i'm good" she shook her head, "anyways! orange hair or..?" jake chuckled at the girl and she laughed as well, "i'm glad we're friends jake"
he forced a smile out and nodded, "me too yuyu.."
♡
it was 8 pm at night.
yuna was currently putting on her earrings and was looking at herself in the mirror when her doorbell rang.
she raised an eyebrow and looked at the time on her phone, "it's kinda early still? if it's sunghoon, he would call"

yuna shrugged before grabbing her phone and walked out of her room, towards the entrance. she opened the door and saw jake standing there, while he was out of breath, "oh..hey jake? i didn't expect you to be here" she chuckled, "come in"
she moved slightly and jake entered her house, catching his breath. yuna closed the door and looked at jake, "did you need something?"
jake turned to look at yuna and was going to speak but then saw she was dressed up nicer than usual, "oh..you're dressed up?"
currently yuna was wearing something simple she had a white collared blouse that was a little oversized as it went past her hands. on top of the white blouse was a black tang top that had thin straps. the blouse and tang top were then tucked into a jean skirt that had a small silt on the side. she paired this with a silver necklace and white converse.
"is it a lot?" she asked, becoming self-conscious, "it's hard to get good outfits with my hair you know"
jake snapped out of his trance of staring at the girl in front of him, shaking his head, "huh? oh! no no, you look great..like always" he stuttered and mentally scolded himself
"aww thanks jake" she smiled and to jake's dismay, her ears weren't red at all. he always hoped that maybe something in her still liked him but nothing at all ever came.
"i was really nervous about my date but-"
"wait" jake cut her off immediately after hearing 'date', "you..have a date?"
"mhm" she nodded, a small smile on her face, "with heeseung"
"oh..is this your first date with him?" he asked, awkward chuckling followed afterwards
"no" she shook her head, "this is our 2nd one"
"and.." he chuckled sadly, looking down at the floor, "you didn't tell me about it?"
"oh no! don't get me wrong, i was going to tell you! but you just seemed really busy with student council and busy with soovin so i didn't want to bother you. i also kinda kept forgetting to tell you whenever i was with you" yuna waved her hands, explaining to him the situation, "oh! right!" yuna started, changing the topic unintentionally, "why are you here again? weren't you on a date with soovin?"
"oh! i was but uh..her parents called her and said they needed help at the shop so she left the date early. i figured i'd come here to hang out with you but you already seem preoccupied"
yuna was about to respond when there was a knock at the door
'oh please be sunghoon..' jake prayed in his mind
yuna took a few steps to the door and opened the door only to be met with heeseung on the other side
"hey seung" yuna grinned as she leaned up, wrapping her arms around his neck, hugging him
'seung..?' jake thought
"hey yuna" he kissed her cheek as they pulled away and jake was slightly shocked at this action
heeseung looked in and saw jake, "hey jake. i didn't expect you to be here"
"yah..didn't expect you to be here either.." jake muttered as heeseung walked in and yuna closed the door
"let me go get my things and we can go" yuna excused herself, walking away to her room, leaving the two boys alone
the two were in silence for a little before jake broke it, "so..you like yuna i assume?" jake questioned
heeseung nodded, "i do. she's really sweet and nice. i don't know how anyone wouldn't like her. must be stupid to not like her"
"definitely.." jake bit his lip, feeling offended at heeseung's use of words, "uh..just don't hurt yuna"
"never" heeseung chuckled, "sunghoon told me how much you cared for her so i didn't expect any less from you" heeseung patted his back, "oh! also i heard you're dating soovin now"
"oh..not yet" jake responded, rubbing the back of his neck, "soon maybe"
"good for you. soovin seems like a great girl"
"yah she really is" jake smiled nervously and they heard yuna's footsteps coming from her room
"you look really pretty yuna" heeseung complimented her as she entered the room
"aww thank you" this time, blush appeared on her ears and jake felt his whole heart drop even though he's seen it multiple times
heeseung took her hand into his, clasping their hands together
yuna smiled and looked over at jake, "i'm sorry that we can't hang out today. maybe another day though"
"yah that'd be cool" he agreed with her, hating the sight in front of him
"well..you can stay here if you want since my parents are out and even if they came home, they wouldn't question you being here anyways"
jake chuckled, "okay. go have fun on your date"
"see you later" yuna and heeseung waved bye before they left the house.
jake took in a deep breath and rubbed his hand over his face, "i'm way too late.."

The True Endgame
What defines endgame content? Is it raiding epic dungeons to take down the strongest bosses there are, or is it facing off against other players to climb the ladder and become the top PvPer? Is endgame content gathering materials and crafting the strongest and most exotic equipment that there is, or is it all about playing the market and amassing more wealth than everybody else? Some people even argue that fashion and minigames are endgame content! Ryouta has already done all of that. Having spent most of his life playing MMO after MMO, he now finds himself wanting to live a virtual life that is far more relaxed and casual than what he is known for. To Ryouta, the true endgame is fishing. Cover illustrated by KoeHaru1!

The Solstice Wars
In the grey-cloaked cityscape of modern London, student William Whiteswift has two secrets: the Fae walk among humanity, and they are just as vulnerable as us. His childhood was filled with them; they spawned nightmares and episodes, dreams and obsessions. The nightmares remain, of course, but the fae are his normal. Now, he heals them, for William is gifted. When he saves a faerie -- a humanoid fae -- from an injury he can’t explain, William is forced to let her stay. Finally, he may have taken on more than he can handle; Ainsel could uproot his life in seconds. Instead, she cracks a Pandora’s box of mysteries: someone just flipped her home on its head. And because of that, she did something unspeakable. And somehow, she doesn’t want to hurt him. The longer she stays, though, the crueler his nightmares grow. Worse, governments hide secrets, too: they know of faeries. To them, all fae are monsters fueled by solstices and equinoxes. As the autumn equinox approaches, the culling agency COURT hurries to track Ainsel down. With teams across the United Kingdom and Ireland -- iron-strong despite the region’s history -- they are nearing success. A world away, their country wounded, the faerie leaders hunger for justice. In the looming shadows of war and of Ainsel’s mistake, can a human and a faerie protect each other against their own kind? Could their plight mend rifts between bitter nations and bitterer people? Or will it, like past attempts at peace, shatter? Quick note! I hope you all enjoy the Irish (Irish Gaelic) words here and there! All are defined or explained within the text. This is my chance to show off speaking it at least somewhat decently. Still learning. ;D -K
