sunghoon and yuna walked to school with their arms linked together, "are you coming to my competition?" sunghoon asked

yuna nodded, "of course! chaeryeong is going to lead the next track meet"

yuna and sunghoon were always good about going to each other events even if they were busy; they always made sure to get out of whatever they were doing to attend each other's things unlike someone else

was it shade towards jake?

yah it was

at the front of the school, jake was patiently waiting for the two show up so he could once again apologize.

both yuna and sunghoon's smiles had faded as they neared the boy, their faces suddenly serious

jake quickly went up to the two, stopping in front of them which made the two stop as well, "look! it's been almost 2 weeks and you guys haven't forgiven me. i know i shouldn't have done what i did and that i should've given you guys a reason-"

"then give us a reason" yuna cut him off as she unlinked her arm from sunghoon and crossed them instead

but as usual; he couldn't

"we've been over this jake" yuna sighed, "unless you're going to give me a reason, i don't want to speak to you" sunghoon nodded, agreeing with the girl beside him

"..i can give you a reason soon but-"

yuna shook her head, "i have a track meet right now" yuna excused herself from the two boys and walked past them to enter the school. jake watched her as she entered

"heeseung!" she yelled, noticing the taller boy.

heeseung turned around and smiled upon seeing the girl. yuna caught up with him and began walking with him

sunghoon noticed jake watch the two as they walk further away from the two

"if you really do like yuna and you truly believe you do" sunghoon began as jake looked back at him, "then start making a move and call it off with soovin because i don't think yuna feels the same way as she used too"

jake raised an eyebrow, "what do you mean she doesn't feel the same way as she used too?"

sunghoon patted his shoulder and walked past jake.

"not..the same way?" jake muttered to himself, becoming slightly worried at this

yuna wasn't in the math class which confused jake

"she was in this class this morning.." jake muttered to himself. he looked in the back of the class and saw two of yuna's friends. he stood up from his seat and walked over to chaeryeong who was talking to her friend ryujin, "hey chaeryeong"

chaeryeong and ryujin stopped talking and looked at the boy, "yah?"

"do you know where yuna is? i saw her this morning but she isn't in class. i was just wondering if something happened to her" jake asked

"hmm? oh i guess she didn't tell you" chaeryeong responded, "she's not in this class anymore"

he looked at her confused, "what do you mean not in this class anymore. she was in this class in the morning"

"oh it's just for math and literature. she got moved to the advanced level classes. well she chose too" chaeryeong explained, "she got in since her grades were improving and the teachers saw capability in her so she moved for those two"

"oh..that explains it" jake bowed his head slightly at the two, "thank you"

the two nodded as jake walked back over to his seat. he sat down and sighed, "she didn't tell me this.."

he then remembered the day she ran into the classroom with a smile on her face only for him and sunghoon to find yuna and him hugging, "he tutored her so she was probably thanking him.." he muttered to himself

'should've been me' jake thought subconsciously then quickly shook his head, 'i took regular literature and math so i could be in a class with her..'

a student then rushed into the classroom and went over to chaeryeong and ryujin, "did you hear??"

chaeryeong raised an eyebrow, "yuna's..kinda in a fight i guess? a verbal one at least"

"what?!" chaeryeong shouted which alerted the other students, especially jake

the students were already confused when the student ran in but the moment jake heard the words yuna and fight in once sentence, he was concerned

jake stood up from his seat, dashing out of the classroom immediately to go make sure the girl was alright

"yah" ryujin smacked chaeryeong's shoulder, "let's go"

the two got up from their seats, running out of the classroom as well and so all the other students ran out as well

jake ran, following the commotion of a bunch of students who were in the hallway on the third floor.

he walked over to the scene, pushing his way through the students so he could what was happening

he was expecting to see yuna hurt but she wasn't; actually, she was perfectly fine

"why?" yuna held up a phone in her hand that wasn't hers, "is this fun to you?"

jake looked to the left of yuna and saw another 2nd year girl by the name of yuri who was against the wall, too scared to approach yuna

yuna ended up approaching the girl being a few inches away from her, "stop making up bullshit rumors about people in the school. did you think no one would find out its you? these rumors are stupid and immature" yuna stepped back before looking at the phone in her hand

"hwang soovin just moved her and she's already making moves on both jake and sunghoon"

"hwang soovin tries too hard to get everyone's attention just because she is the new girl"

"the way yuna tried to go for the 15 year old that works at the cafe and the senior lee heeseung"

yuna sighed, "soovin made no moves on sunghoon. they don't even like each other"

"she's right" soovin spoke out, agreeing with her

"jake..well they like each other so of course they're going to make moves on each other. what else do you expect?" yuna scoffed, "2nd, she doesn't try to get anyone's attention. everyone just paid attention to her when she came to the school. sorry she's so eye-catching"

"you're not jealous of jake and soovin? i mean it's obvious you like jake" yuri crossed her arms, a small smirk on her face

"and if i do?" yuna tilted her head, "why is it your business on whether or not i like him. but just to clear it up, i don't like him"

"that hurt.." jake muttered then widened his eyes at what he just told himself

"also" yuna began again, "riki and i have no relationship. i never made any moves with him because he's an actual child"

"you're not denying the heeseung 'rumor' " yuri kept trying to come at yuna but it wasn't working at all

yuna didn't want to admit she liked him yet so she gave a reasonable answer, "heeseung and i are good friends and has helped me in my studies. neither of us have made moves on each other"

that was a lie since she didn't want people to know she went on a date already

yuna stepped forward again, "all the rumors you make up are stupid. get your grades up before you meddle into other students' lives"

yuna gave the girl her phone back and stood back. yuna turned to walk away but yuri grabbed yuna's hair pulling her back

yuna gripped onto yuri's wrist turning herself around making yuri let go of her hand, "just because you're younger than me doesn't mean i will be nice. you're also still new to the school, get your priorities straight"

"you seem to be pretty rude to a new student" yuri tried to get yuna's hand off of her wrist

"i'm not" yuna's voice quickly changed to sweet and now there was a grin on her face, "i'm actually really nice"

yuri looked at her weirdly before yuna took her hand off of yuri's wrist and walked over to soovin, ignoring the stares of all the students, "let's go?"

soovin looked at yuna confused but slowly nodded, honestly a little intimidated of the girl. yuna linked her arm with soovin as the two walked out of the crowd

jake looked over at yuna and noticed her wrist was bruised, "why is her wrist bruised?"

the boy shook his head as he quickly walked over to the two, grabbing soovin's shoulder. the girl stopped, turning around, "oh hey jake" she smiled

"hey uh" he looked at yuna who's eyes were not as bright as before, "her wrist..is bruised. i was just worried about it"

soovin looked down and noticed yuna's wrist was definitely bruised, "how'd you get it? i don't remember her gripping onto your wrist"

"oh..it might've been when yuri tried to grab her phone out of my hand so she gripped my wrist" yuna explained but shrugged, "but it doesn't hurt so i'm fine"

she was lying; it kinda did hurt but not enough for her to have them worry about her

"you should probably put ice on it just to reduce swelling. you know for a small girl yuri seems to have a tight grip" soovin spoke

"i guess-"

"great!" soovin unlinked her arm from yuna, "see you later" soovin smiled cheekily then began running, leaving jake and yuna alone in the hallway as the students were still going back to their classes after the whole commotion

"yah! where are you going?!" yuna shouted, offended that she just left them

"i have a meeting but jake can take you to the nurse!" soovin yelled but didn't turn back to see their faces and she continued running until she was out of their sight

yuna sighed, knowing what the girl was doing. yuna looked at jake, "go back to class. i can go by myself-"

"let's go yuna" jake softly held onto her wrist that was not bruised and began walking.

yuna was going to fight but she didn't feel like it so she let jake take her to where they had to go

jake eventually let go of her wrist and put his hands into his pockets as they walked to the nurse's office in silence.

the two reached the nurse's office but to their dismay, the nurse wasn't there. nonetheless, yuna sat on the edge of bed before jake went to go find an ice pack for her wrist.

the boy came back before he sat beside her and held out his hand, indicating for her to put her wrist in his hand.

yuna placed her wrist in his hand and he put the ice pack on her bruise, "so..what happened back there?"

"just clearing up the dumb rumors yuri made about soovin and other people" yuna answered shortly wanting to have little to no conversation with the boy

"how'd you find out?"

"yuri was talking about it with her friends and i overheard them so i intervened" she responded, still looking down at her wrist, "the rumors were stupid"

jake nodded slowly, "glad you stood up.." yuna nodded as well, the silence overcoming the two again

jake hated it as the two have never been like this before so it hurt

"chaeryeong told me you got moved into advanced classes" jake spoke again. yuna just hmmed in response, "i'm proud of you. sorry i couldn't be the one to help you with your grades"

yuna sighed, not wanting him to feel bad. she was mad but her grades wasn't what he needed to feel bad about, "it's okay. heeseung helped me and you're still busy so don't worry about it"

"i'm just upset at the fact i couldn't help my own best friend with her grades because of my own schedule. i really wanted to help you yuna..i thought i could do it and rearrange my schedule to help you" jake began ranting to her

yuna looked up at jake before she brought her other hand up to his head, ruffling his hair,"jake. it's okay i told you already. i know how busy you are so i wasn't mad about you not being able to help me. it's why sunghoon and i hesitated on asking you in the first place. we didn't want to take up your time. i never blamed you so don't blame yourself"

jake nodded, looking away from yuna, "are..you still mad at me"

"yes" yuna didn't waste hestiate on answering which kinda hurt jake but he understood her, "i am mad still but i can admit it is hard being mad at you" jake looked back at her, "we've been friends for so long and we've never really got into a fight before so i didn't really know how to react to you since i don't really get mad at you often..i hope you can give me that reason so i can stop being mad at you"

"i will-"

"but you..won't give it to me now..right?" she asked, her face becoming saddened

"i'm sorry" he apologized, looking down at her wrist that still had the ice pack on it

yuna felt bad. she genuinely wants to forgive but she couldn't forgive him just like that because she wanted to know the reason why he didn't show up and was out with his other friends instead.

yuna was going to ask another question but shook her head, "look up at me. it makes me feel bad if you don't look at me"

jake kept his head down for a little before he eventually looked up but froze when his face was a few centimeters away from her face.

yuna was also frozen and didn't know how to react

'lean back lean back..' yuna's mind repeated to herself but she couldn't lean back.

unknowingly, jake leaned in towards the girl and while yuna's mind was telling her to move away, she didn't.

before jake could lean in even more, the ice pack that was on her wrist fell to the floor, causing both to lean back and not look at each other.

jake cleared his throat as he bent down, grabbing the ice pack from the floor. he looked back at yuna but her ears were not red at all; not one bit of it.

"yuna..did you-"

yuna stood up and grabbed the ice pack from his hand, "i should get back to class. thank you"

before jake could respond, the girl left the nurse's office. she closed the door and immediately her ears turned red, "stupid..you just told yourself a few days youre over him and he pulls this"
