yuna went back to her birthday party quickly after the altercation; she didn't want to make it awkward so she quickly replaced her straight face with a smile and walked back into the cafe
"there you are!" soovin exclaimed, walking towards her, "where were you?"
"i thought i left something at my house but i guess i didn't" yuna responded, excusing it
sunghoon looked over at yuna, noticing her discomfort and fake smile.
'stupid jake. doesn't bother showing up on her birthday' he scoffed, making the other boys look at him confused
"why'd you scoff?" sunoo asked, looking at sunghoon
"no reason" he quickly brushed it off and walked over to yuna, "well since you're back..want to open your gifts?" she just nodded.
yuna wasn't a big cake fan so for her birthdays, her parents never got her a cake.
she remembered when she first became friends with sunghoon and jake and they didn't know she didn't like cake so they got her one for her birthday and she forced herself to eat it despite not liking it
yuna spent the next 20 minutes or so, opening gifts from the people there; she got clothes, jewerly, some albums of her favorite groups, and vinyls as well.
while yuna was happy, she was still thinking about jake and what happened earlier.
slowly, one by one everyone began leaving after saying bye to yuna.
"hey yuna" her mother called for her, "i hope you had a great day today"
"i did. thank you mom" she smiled, hugging her mother tightly
"hey! thanks to me!" sunghoon immediately intervened between the two since he was the one who planned it all
"yah yah, i guess" her mother rolled her eyes at sunghoon causing yuna to chuckle.
her father then came over, wrapping his arm around yuna, "why don't you go home yuyu? we'll stay here to clean up everything so riki doesn't have to clean everything by himself"
"just call me niki!" niki complained, stomping his foot on the floor and they all just laughed at the boy as he began cleaning up around the cafe
"heeseung can take you home" sunghoon threw her a smirk and she smacked his arm lightly
"speaking of that.." her mother began, looking at yuna, "where's jake? i thought he would show up"
"actually..he was busy. he told me he couldn't make it" she lied, not wanting to upset her mother and father, "he said he'll make it up to me another day
"liar.." sunghoon muttered under his breath and luckily no one heard
"i guess i'll get going then" yuna spoke afterwards to avoid anymore awkwardness
"we'll see you at home yuyu" her father kissed the top of her head and she nodded.
her father unwrapped his arm from her and walked away with yuna's mother so they could go help niki clean up

"hey" heeseung spoke causing yuna to look at him, "are you ready to go?"
she nodded and looked at the amount of gifts she had and she definitely did not want to carry it all home
"your parents drove her so they'll just take it with them" sunghoon told her after noticing her stare. before yuna could respond, he pushed the two, "now get going!"
heeseung and yuna just laughed as heeseung opened the door so yuna could walk first.
once she walked out, heeseung walked out as well and the two began walking back home
sunghoon watched as the two left before scoffing, "jake had the audacity to not show up after promising her"
yuna and heeseung walked in silence, the two not knowing what to say to each other especially after the fact that they had yet to talk about the date that yuna said yes too.
"so yuna.." heeseung began and she listened, "about the date.."
'is he cancelling? please don't..this will make me upset than i already am' yuna thought, praying for him to not cancel it
"where'd you want go?" he asked her and yuna let out a breath of relief, knowing he wasn't cancelling on her, "you good?"
"o-oh..yah i was panicking thinking you were going to call it off"
he chuckled, patting her head, "i wouldn't do that to you"
yuna smiled, "hm..just surprise me and i'm sure i'll be happy with it" heeseung laughed and just said 'okay' in response
the two continued to talk until they reached yuna's house. walking to the cafe alone felt like an eternity to yuna but when she was walking home with heeseung, time went by to fast as she wanted to continue to talk to him
yuna stood at the top of the stairs to her house which was only like 3 steps, looking at heeseung, "thanks for walking me home"
he nodded, his hands in his pockets, "no problem but.. i didn't give you a birthday present"
"oh" she didn't even notice to be honest since she didn't really care whether or not she got gifts or not, "it's okay. i don't expect any-"
the boy stepped up 2 steps before leaning forward and kissing her cheek. yuna stood there in shock as her ears slowly turned red. he leaned back but kept his face a few centimeters away from her face, "happy birthday yuna. i hope you had a great day"
he patted her head before moving back and waving bye to the girl, "i'll go once i see you go in"
yuna nodded slowly, processing what the hell just happened, "..see you tomorrow.." she mumbled before quickly opening the door and entering her home.
heeseung laughed at her reaction before turning around and walking away from her home
yuna held a hand to her chest, feeling it pounding against her chest, "..that made my day a lot better.." she smiled unknowingly

from a distance, a boy watched as heeseung left yuna's house and he sighed, "sorry yuna.."
♡
yuna and sunghoon walked to school together that day. yuna had told him what happened when she left and now sunghoon was also mad at jake
not only did he make yuna upset but he won't even give her a reason as too why he didn't show up.
yuna was at her locker, inputting her combination and opened her locker door. sunghoon had already gone to class since yuna told him to just go
she heard footsteps coming her way and looked over to her right; seeing jake walking towards her.
"hey yuna.." he reached her but she ignored him and continued to grab her things out of her locker
jake sighed before pleading, "yuna please forgive me"
she ignored him again, grabbing her textbook and workbook before closing her locker door and looking at jake.
"i swear i-"
yuna turned around immediately as he began talking and walked away from him
"yunaa!" he whined and caught up with her again, holding onto her wrist, "please just let me talk"
yuna sighed as she took her wrist out of his grip and turned around to face him, holding her textbook and workbook against her chest, "speak"
yuna wasn't one to get mad easily and she gave everyone the benefit of the doubt if they deserved it so she wanted to give jake a chance as well to explain himself since she kinda just yelled at him the night before
"look i'm really sorry for not showing up. i-i have my reasons but i just can't tell you yet" jake bit his lip, knowing yuna wasn't going to accept it but he still had some hope
"why?" he stayed silent, "look jake. usually i would brush it off but this time you promised me you'd come and you didn't say anything to any of us. not only did you not show up, i found you laughing with your friends having a good time. so until you give me a good reason, i'm not going to forgive you for not showing up"
she turned around again, 'am i being too harsh?' she thought as yuna bit her lip. she stopped walking when jake held onto her wrist again
she rolled her eyes and turned her head to look at him, "stop gripping my wrist. it's getting annoying" she took it out again, facing him again
jake put his arm to his side, "please yuna. there has to be another way for you to forgive me"
"jake i just told you the only way for me to forgive you is if you just tell me why you weren't there and i'll stop being mad at you" jake stayed silent, "if you know the way i'll forgive is if you give me a reason to why you didn't come then why don't you just tell me?"
"because i can't" he simply responded. he wanted to just shout at himself for giving her these excuses but he couldn't tell her why he didn't show up yet
this resulted in making yuna annoyed, "why can't you tell me?"
"i just can't yuna. when the time comes, you'll know b-but..please i don't want you mad at me. we're best friends..right?" jake pleaded, he was so desperate for his best friend back
"i take the time out of my things for you jake. i've shown up to everyone of your rehearsals, your competitions, your debates and whatever else you have" she was getting mad and jake could sense it but despite it, yuna refused to raise her voice at him, "i know i technically don't have to show up since you don't ask but i show up anyways because i want to support my best friend..you haven't even gone to my first track event and you happened to be no where at my party"
"yuna look-"
she cut him off quickly, stopping him from talking, "give me a reason then"
"i can't"
"then i don't want to talk to you again until you give me a reason. bye jake" yuna finally turned around and walked away to her class; this time without jake stopping her
————————
"uh..hey guys?" jake spoke awkwardly as he sat down at the lunch table where sunghoon and yuna were previously laughing but immediately stopped when the boy came, "i see you're still mad"
"why would we be mad?" sunghoon asked in a condescending tone, "just because you didn't show up to her party, won't give her a reason as too why you didn't show up, and oh! happened to be happily talking with your other friends at a korean barbecue place. no! never, why would we be mad?"
"look i just-"
"jake" someone called for him as a student walked over to their table. jake looked at them, kinda annoyed that they just ruined him talking, "we have a meeting in 5" the boy then walked away without jake responding
jake cursed, "perfect timing.." he muttered to himself and looked at yuna, "i swear! i didn't mean to miss it-'
she stood up abruptly, staring at him, "i have another track event coming up soon and you can come but knowing you, you won't show up anyways. you seem to stick to what you're good at. not keeping promises and leaving people" she grabbed her tray angrily and began leaving the table
jake then looked over at sunghoon, "sunghoon-"
sunghoon stood up and looked at jake, "if you really like yuna then start acting like it" he grabbed his tray and walked away from the table, walking to catch up with yuna
jake sighed knowing what he had to do something quickly so he could make yuna and sunghoon forgive him but it was going to take a little bit of time so for now he was just going to try and get them to forgive him as of now without a reason but that was going to be hard.

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
