"soo.." yuna spoke excitedly as soovin and jake reached their lunch table, "how was the date?"
"it went great" soovin smiled, sitting next to sunghoon, "you did a great job at planning it yuna"
"you know-" jake looked at soovin but she smiled at him and he retracted his statement, being flustered at the sight of her smile
"you guys are weird" sunghoon looked them weirdly, eating his rice
"did you guys do anything yesterday?" jake asked, opening his water bottle
"just sunghoon, riki, and i hung out at the park" yuna responded, mixing her meat within the rice
"then she almost got hit by a car" sunghoon spoke so casually causing both soovin and jake to go eye-wide
"what?!" the two shouted in unison
"oh yah. i almost got hit by a car but riki pulled me out before i could get hit" she spoke as if it was nothing, "stupid kid. i'm going to murder him for doing that"
"why are you two speaking like it's normal?!" soovin was genuinely worried for the girl even though yuna was right in front of her perfectly fine
jake turned towards yuna, cupping her face in his hands causing her to drop her chopsticks on her tray, "are you okay??" he worriedly asked her and the girl just nodded, "why are you guys acting like it's nothing??"
"because she's still alive?" sunghoon responded, "both her and riki are fine so-"
"uh.. jake can you let go of me" yuna spoke, pointing to his hands that were still on her cheeks
"oh right!" he chuckled nervously, removing his hands and placing them on the table
sunghoon looked at her ears that were showing and noticed they weren't red. he smiled and he was happy to know that maybe she was finally getting over him
"on another topic but i'm glad you're okay yuna" soovin started while yuna nodded, "when's yuna's party?"

"..on her birthday?" sunghoon dragged his sentence and looked at her like she was stupid
soovin smacked his shoulder in defense, "don't look at me like i'm stupid. mr. 3.4 gpa"
"okay whatever overachiever" he rolled his eyes
"where's it going to be at?" yuna asked, curious since she didn't know where it was going to be at because sunghoon hadn't told her a lot about it
"that will be a surprise" sunghoon smiled and yuna rolled her eyes, "don't worry i'm inviting heeseung"
she kicked his leg under the table causing him to let out a small scream of pain, "we're just friends!"
"sure" the three at the table spoke in unison
♡
jake was at the vending machine grabbing himself an aloe vera drink but decided to get two since he knows yuna likes the same drink
he put in one dollar, typed in the code and the drink fell out. he repeated the same process and another drink fell out.
he grabbed both drinks out and began walking away from the vending machine to go find yuna, figuring she'd probably be by her locker or in the classroom.
he was right and yuna was by her locker, putting some things away and taking some things out.
"yu-"
jake's voice got cut off when someone else called out for her, "yuna!"
jake quickly moved away slightly so yuna and the person who called her couldn't see him but he could see them.
the voice who called her was heeseung. the boy walked over to her, a drink in his hand.
yuna turned to heeseung, a smile planting on her face immediately, "hey heeseung"
"hey" he stopped and stood beside her and held out the drink, "i got this for you. sunghoon told me you like it"
her eyes lit up at the sight of the drink and took it into her hands, "thank you!"

jake looked down at his hands, seeing the same aloe vera drink that heeseung got yuna
"you busy afterschool after our tutoring session?" heeseung asked, getting slightly shy by asking her
yuna's ears became red from it and jake noticed it, "her ears get red whenever she's embarrassed or shy.." he muttered under his breath
the boy couldn't hear the two but he could see the actions of what was happening.
"probably not" she answered, placing the drink in her locker, "why?"
"want to hang out afterwards?"
she nodded immediately, maybe a little too fast. she quickly shook her head trying to play it off but failed, "i mean uh..sure?"
he chuckled, patting her shoulder, "you're so cute. okay i'll see you afterschool then"
she nodded and the two waved bye to each other as heeseung walked away from the girl
once he was gone and out of sight, yuna let out a huge smile as she looked at the drink in her locker, "ugh he's so cute.."
yuna widened her eyes and quickly took out her phone, opening the front camera so she can see herself. she looked at her ears and noticed they were red, "am i finally..-"
"hey yuna"
she recognized that voice immediately and covered her ears. she turned around and grinned as she saw jake, "hey jake"
he chuckled, "someone seems nervous"
"no never" she brushed it off and grabbed the drink and her textbook before closing her locker
she looked at jake and then at his hands, noticing the two drinks, "did you get a drink for soovin?"
"actually i-" he cut himself off, realizing that he couldn't give the drink to yuna anymore, "oh yah..i got it for soovin and me" he quickly shook his head, changing the topic, "want me to walk you?"
yuna nodded, "sure"
the two began walking back to their last class and it was just silence since yuna was remembering what had just happened between her and heeseung and jake was trying to figure out what he was even feeling.
"oh" yuna brought up, "..you're coming to my birthday right?"
he nodded, "why wouldn't i?"
"i mean..you seem to have a thing for leaving us on important days" she didn't meant to come off as harsh and she felt bad for doing that so she wished she didn't say anything
'think before you speak yuna' she thought
"right.." jake spoke, dragging his sentence as he felt bad. he knew she meant no harm by saying it because it was true, "i promise i'll be there and i'll give you a great gift"
"jake. just having you there would be a gift to me" she chuckled, "since you're more important than..well..the world to me"
jake's heart then began racing at that sentence, just like it does when he's with soovin.
'what the hell..' he thought
jake continued to walk yuna to her class. yuna said bye to him and entered her classroom while jake went to his afterwards; his advanced placement class
he slid open the door and entered, seeing soovin on her phone. she looked up when she heard the door open, saw jake, and smiled at him
he smiled back at her and walked over to her, sitting in the seat in front of her.
"here i got this" he placed the drink on the table
"aw thank you" she looked at it and frowned, "sorry..i'm actually allergic to aloe vera" soovin felt bad, "but thank you anyways!"
"oh..sorry. i usually get two for yuna and i..i just did it out of habit but heeseung already gave her one so.."
"ah" soovin nodded, tapping her fingers on the drink, "do you think they like each other?"
"heeseung and yuna?" she nodded again, "maybe"
"they'd be so cute together!" soovin laughed, "i hope it goes well for them"
"yah.." jake dragged his sentence, "me too" he muttered

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
