sunday came along quickly and the group, that consisted now of 4 friends, were in the park having a small picnic, each bringing their own food to share with everywhere

"honestly feels nice to have a friend group" soovin spoke as soon as they finished putting out all of the food

"what do you mean?" yuna asked as she unwrapped the plastic wrap on the container of glazed strawberries

"i had friends in my old school but we were never really close and didn't hang out outside of school maybe because i was so busy but now that i'm focusing on student council and top rank only, i feel more content and happy to have time to myself and hang out with you guys"

"that's the nicest thing you've ever said" sunghoon wiped a fake tear

"i'm talking to jake and yuna, not you"

sunghoon stopped fake crying and looked at yuna with a straight face, "when are we kicking her out of the group? like..her being in the group is a temporary thing right?"

soovin smacked sunghoon's arm while yuna just shook her head and grabbed a toothpick, picking a sliced piece of strawberry with it and putting it in her mouth

"you must like glazed strawberries" soovin chuckled while yuna nodded, chewing on the strawberry, "i'll tell my dad to make more for you"

"soovin" jake called out and she hmmed, looking at him, "this is really random but what colleges did you apply for if you haven't already?"

"hmm..hankuk, seoul national, yonsei, hanyang for korea and i applied for 2 in the states; cal state long beach and stanford" she answered, "you?"

the two randomly started a conversation that sunghoon and yuna were left out of

yuna was going to a community college and sunghoon was going to community as well after high school

jake and soovin had a lot of similarities, so many it was honestly scary

'they're..perfect..' yuna thought, 'she's been here for literally a week and you think they've fallen in love yuna literally shut the fuck up'

"it's like were soulmates or something we have so much in common" soovin laughed and jake agreed with her

jake then snapped his fingers, "oh! yuna" he looked over at the girl who was still caught up in her thoughts thinking and not paying attention to the three in front of her, "yuna?" she didn't respond. he then placed his hand on her shoulder, shaking her a little.

she snapped out of it and looked at him, "sorry, what?"

"you good? you looked a little lost there" jake chuckled

"oh nothing" she brushed it off, rubbing the back of her neck, "i just got lost in thoughts. what were you saying?"

"i was going to tell you that i can make it to your track event on wednesday" he spoke with a smile on his face knowing that yuna was going to be ecstatic that he was there

she widened her eyes, her eyes lighting up at what he just told her, "really??" he nodded, "thanks jake!"

"of course. i'll make sure if something comes up, i'll text you to let you know but i'm sure i won't miss it"

"you have a event on wednesday?" soovin then asked, tilting her head

yuna nodded, "do you want to come?"

"sure why not. i've never been to a track event before"

"can you stop inviting this rat everywhere?" sunghoon complained, rolling his eyes

soovin glared at him, pointing at herself, "this rat is a black belt"

"so..you admit you're a rat is what i'm hearing?" soovin raised her fist, threatening to punch him and the boy flinched, covering his face with his arms, "okay! i'm sorry"

"you guys are so interesting" jake chuckled

yuna's phone suddenly rang and she looked at the caller ID, "why is riki calling me?"

"ooo! put him on speaker. i wanna hear him" sunghoon suggested

yuna shrugged before she answered his call and put him on speaker, "hello riki?"

"noona! i need help!" he immediately yelled which caught the friends off guard, "and stop calling me riki! just say niki!"

"with what?" she asked, confused as to why he called her since he barely calls her and also ignoring his request for her to stop calling him 'riki'

"w-what would i do..if i per say.."

yuna gasped, "does riki like someone??"

"i said PER SAY!" he shouted over the phone and yuna chuckled, "but if i did..what would i do?"

"well first of all..why the heck did you call me and not your own sister or even her own friends..what are their names? uhh..oh! eunbi and nako?"

"because my own sister would tease me and so would her friends so i resorted to you"

"good to know i was the last option" yuna scowled but shook her head, "anyways, how do you feel around her?"

"i don't know! i just feel happy and content! i love being around her and she just makes me happy. i could listen to her voice all day!" niki ranted and jake now began listening more attentively to what niki was describing

"well...if she makes you feel all of those feelings then i don't know what else to tell you besides confess"

niki widened his eyes before shouting at the girl, "yah! what kind of advice is that? you're useless"

"girl i-" yuna smacked her forehead, "just take it sunghoon" she held out her phone towards sunghoon

"ohh is sunghoon with you? hi sunghoon!!" niki exclaimed over the phone as sunghoon grabbed yuna's phone into his hands

"hey niki" sunghoon replied, "so your girl situation...hmm i'm going to agree with yuna and say to also confess"

"i-" he sighed, not giving up yet, "is jake there with you guys? he gives good advice"

"you're such a bit-!" before yuna and sunghoon could finish their sentence, niki cut them off

"i'm only fifteen!"

sunghoon and yuna just snickered as sunghoon handed the phone over to jake, "hi jake! tell me what to do!"

"confess to her"

"you know.." niki sighed, "maybe you guys are right. but has yuna even confess-"

"okay! okay! shut up! shut up!" sunghoon and yuna shouted in unison, yuna grabbing her phone back from jake, "stop talking riki"

"okay ma'am"

yuna let out a breath before continuing, "look..if you really care for this girl then you should confess. if it doesn't work out then she wasn't the one. we all have our up and downs in relationships. has she shown signs of liking you back?"

"my classmates think so. the gestures she does isn't the same too anyone else and only does them to me"

yuna chuckled, "then just confess. you won't know if she likes you as well unless you do it"

"hmm..okay! i guess i can try. i should get back to work, my break just ended. oh! and noona" yuna hmmed, listening, "take your own advice"

"yah! you ra-"

"goodbye!" niki quickly hung up and yuna just sighed

"follow your own advice huh?" soovin smirked, leaning towards yuna"so you do like someone! who is it!?"

"soovin you shoul-" yuna cut sunghoon off

"it's jake" —is what yuna wanted to say but didn't

"i think riki is still convinced i still like my old crush" yuna chuckled nervously as she put her phone down

'i'm going to murder him i swear' she thought since he almost just told her friends that she; one, has a crush and two, likes jake

yuna just shook her head of the thoughts as the four friends continued to eat and talk

"soovin" jake spoke suddenly and leaned towards her, "you have something on the corner of your lip"

"i do?" she spoke, trying to wipe it away but it wouldn't come off

jake leaned in further and placed his hand on the corner of lip, wiping it away; blush becoming evident on both of their faces as they stayed there, "t-thank you.."

yuna's heart ached so badly now. the gestures he only did to her, he now was using on someone as well. she was being selfish but she couldn't show it

sunghoon caught onto yuna being slightly uncomfortable and quickly stopped soovin and jake's interaction, "haha! okay guys" he pulled jake away from the girl, "should we get going?"

the group all agreed but yuna kept the same fake smile on her face which was starting to annoy sunghoon because she was hiding her feelings

they all began to pack up their things, throwing away any trash and folding up the blanket they used.

once they were all done, they stood next to each other, "so..soovin where do you live?" sunghoon asked as he stood beside yuna

"uh.." she pointed towards jake, "jake is just going to walk me home since we're near each other"

"how about?" sunghoon chuckled, wrapping his arm around soovin's shoulder, "jake walks yuna home and i take you home? sounds like a great idea to me"

"any more time with you and i'll lose more braincells" she threw his arm off of her, "but if jake wants to walk yuna home then that's fine with me"

"i can walk yuna ho-" yuna cut jake off, shaking her head

"i-it's okay. sunghoon can walk me home" she grinned, "no need for the hassle if you and soovin live more near each other"

"oh okay" jake noticed her weird behavior but thought maybe she was just having an off day so he decided to not bother her at the moment and just ask her another time. jake then looked at soovin, "should we get going then?"

"sure" she waved bye to the two others as her and jake walked away.

yuna began walking the opposite direction of the two with sunghoon walking beside her, "yah..why are you doing this?"

"what are you talking about?"

"this" he pointed his finger at her lips that had the same grin on it then back at jake and soovin who were getting further away, "jake is still trying to have a good relationship with you but you keep pushing away chances and giving it too soovin and your stupid fake smile is getting annoying"

"then stop seeing my stupid smile" her grin disappeared as she spoke coldly, continuing to walk further away

sunghoon sighed and caught up with her, apologizing to her, "that's not what i meant yuna. i'm sorry"

yuna took a breath and nodded, "i know..i'm sorry as well"

"so why are you doing this? he offered to walk you home. you could've taken the chance" sunghoon questioned, confused of what she was doing

yuna stopped walking and so did sunghoon. yuna looked at sunghoon, "because i can tell he likes her and she also likes him"

"yes but-"

"sunghoon" she stopped him, "it's been years since i've liked jake and..i'm just too scared to confess and it'll ruin our friendship"

"but you don't know that yuna"

"exactly i don't know. if i confess and he complies, great but if he doesn't then it's awkward between us. i can see the way he looks soovin, it's not the same way he looks at me. he only sees me as sister and that's all i'll ever be. if he's happy then i'm happy"

"so by dating or..liking? soovin, you think he'll be happy?"

yuna nodded, "sunghoon i know you see it too. you can see how they look at each other. they're perfect for each other while i..i can't even simply do what she does" she chuckled sadly, "i rather push them together than try and intervene in it. so please just let me do this sunghoon. maybe i'll end up losing my feelings on the way"

sunghoon couldn't respond. he knew how hurt yuna was by this. not only was it her best friend but it was her crush that she was willing to let go for his happiness

he sighed, "okay..i won't stop and intervene anymore. i'll let them do what they want"

"good" she grinned, "now let's go before i start crying at the thought of that"

she began speed-walking away, knowing sunghoon would yell at her for crying

and she was right

"crying?! girl! no come back here! you can't cry!" sunghoon chased after her, catching up with her once again

'this is the right thing to do..it is..' yuna thought as she tried to keep her smile on but it kept fading more quickly
