《my favorite star | sim jaeyun ✔️》0.7 | sprained ankle

sunghoon and jake walked to school talking, sunghoon ranting about his skating practice and jake just listened to him along the way
jake kept looking at his phone and sunghoon noticed this, "you didn't hear anything i just said did you?" jake didn't respond as he kept looking at his phone, "jake!"
jake looked up from his phone and at sunghoon, "sorry what'd you say?"
sunghoon rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, "you act like just because yuna doesn't send a good morning text or walk with us, it's the end of the world"
"i can worry okay?" jake finally put his phone away into his blazer pocket, "she usually messages but she's probably busy with track since she has a meeting right now"
"exactly so don't worry so much about it. we'll see her in class"
♡
jake walked over to sunghoon's seat before class started and spoke, "she's not in class sunghoon"
"she probably just got caught up in something" sunghoon wasn't too worried about the girl but jake was the complete opposite. sunghoon then leaned back in his chair, "or she's ditching you because you always do it to us"
"yah!" jake smacked his arm lightly, "she wouldn't.."
sunghoon shook his head, "did you text her?" jake nodded, "and she didn't respond?" he shook his head, "then.." he looked around the room until he spotted a specific girl, "hey! chaeryeong"
the girl stopped talking to her friend and looked over at sunghoon. sunghoon then gestured her to come to him. she excused herself from her friend and walked over to the two boys, "yah?"
"do you happen to know where yuna is? we thought her track meet ended at 8:20?" sunghoon asked, "also you're here so..i assume the meeting ending"
"oh it did end but yuna got hurt so-"
"what?!" the two exclaimed with sunghoon standing up from his seat which scared the girl in front of them and the other students in the class, causing them to go silent
the two awkwardly smiled, bowing and apologizing for making noise. they then looked back at chaeryeong, "what do you mean yuna got hurt?" jake asked, concerned
"we were doing hurdles but she accidentally got caught on one while jumping and she sprained her ankle. she left her bag by the field since we had to take her to nurse so its probably why she never texted you, well i would assume she didn't text you since you guys didn't know about it"

"okay thank you chaeryeong" she nodded and walked back over to her friends
"i'll go get her bag from the field and you go to nurse's" sunghoon spoke and jake nodded
the two quickly ran out of the classroom, going opposite ways. they wanted to check up on yuna before class started but they'll probably be late by the time the teacher comes in
jake dashed towards the nurse's office, other students looking at him like he was crazy since they haven't seen him run so fast; not even in soccer.
after about 5 minutes of running, the boy reached the nurse's office. jake entered the nurse's office and saw yuna sitting on the bed, her leg elevated up in a pillow and wrapped with a few bandages.
she noticed the boy and nervously smiled, waving at him. jake walked over towards her, standing beside her, "you scared the hell out of me and sunghoon. i was getting super paranoid"
"uhm..sorry?" she gave an apologetic smile, "well it's not like i wanted to hit the hurdle"
jake just shook his head, placing his hand on her head and stroking her hair, "so, what'd the nurse say?"
"she said it's not as bad as the time in 1st year and that it could've been way worst" she looked at him, "you know..like the time you and sunghoon threw a baseball through my window and hit me in the head perfectly"
"okay...you know-" jake removed his hand from her hair
"yunaa!" sunghoon exclaimed as entered the nurse's office. yuna smiled upon seeing him enter
sunghoon walked over towards them, placing yuna's bag on the floor and hugging her tightly, "i thought you died or something. i was so worried when you weren't texting"
"you were the one telling me-" sunghoon removed his one arm from yuna and hit the back of jake's head, telling him to stop talking.
jake rolled his eyes as sunghoon pulled away from yuna and stood beside jake, the two boys now staring at the girl, "so what did the nurse say?"
"sprained ankle, it's not too bad and it should be healed in a week or so" she explained
"were you supposed to go home?"
"i was going to call my parents to pick me up but my bag was left on the field so i couldn't exactly call them" she spoke, "my parents might be busy right now though at work.."

"i can have my parents pick you up if you want" sunghoon offered
"really?"
he nodded, "let me go call them really quick" sunghoon excused himself from the two, leaving the office afterwards
"so do you need crutches or anything?" jake asked and she just shook her head
"just to not put pressure on my left ankle so i'll probably just be limping a lot. i think i'll be out for a week though..but we'll see"
jake nodded before placing his hand on her head, ruffling her hair, "i'm glad you're okay"
"this is nothing. the nurse said she expects a lot more accidents from me" jake chuckled as yuna smiled in response
after a few minutes, sunghoon came back into the office, "my mom will come to pick you up and take you home. we'll take you to the front office so you can wait for her" yuna nodded
yuna placed her hand on jake's shoulder, moving so she can be at the edge of the bed and attempted to stand up but sunghoon lightly pushed her back on the bed, "wait" yuna and sunghoon looked at the boy confused. sunghoon then looked at jake, "get on his back"
"what?!" the two shouted in unison, not expecting him to say that
"you guys act like you've never done it before" sunghoon rolled his eyes, "plus, it's best you don't put pressure on it so..i'm just helping you here"
"yes, we've done it before-" yuna shook her head, rephrasing her sentence, "i've gone on his back before because that's when we were kids"
sunghoon just winked at her and she rolled her eyes, knowing exactly why he was doing it
"so just do it" sunghoon ushered jake
"n-no..it's okay you don't have too" she shook her head but instead jake stood in front of yuna before bending down, allowing her to get on his back, "i'm wearing a skirt though"
jake stood up again before taking off his blazer and giving it her, "here. you can wrap it around your waist"
sunghoon's heart was racing up because of how cute the two were, 'they're so cute together'
yuna bit her lip and nodded, taking his blazer. jake bent back down again as she wrapped his blazer around her waist.
sunghoon helped yuna onto jake's back and once she was comfortable enough, jake stood up, holding onto yuna tightly. sunghoon then adjusted the blazer around her waist
her arms were wrapped around jake's neck tightly, the blush on her ears appearing again.
sunghoon chuckled as he noticed her red ears and quickly moved her hair in front of her ears so it wasn't noticeable
sunghoon bent down and grabbed yuna's bag and gave it to jake who was now holding both her bag and the girl but luckily for him, both yuna and her bag weren't heavy
"i need to get to class because that teacher does not like me i swear. i'll tell her what happened so you don't get marked jake. take your time" sunghoon smirked at yuna and she just looked away, shy
sunghoon patted her back before leaving the nurse office's so he could rush back to class since it was already past the time class started
"hold on tight" jake advised her, holding onto the back of her thighs. yuna nodded and held onto him tighter but not enough to choke him
a light pink ran across jake's cheeks from this but he ignored it and he proceeded to walk out of the nurse's office and he began walking towards the front office which wasn't far from the nurse's office
the two stayed silent but it wasn't awkward or anything.
after a few minutes, they reached the front office. the door was already opened so jake walked in and saw a couple chairs against the wall. he walked over to the chairs and turned around, jake lowering himself down and yuna got off, sitting on the chair behind her.
jake then stood up and placed her bag beside her, "i should get to class. make sure you rest. sunghoon and i will visit you afterschool.."
"you will?" she asked
he nodded, "i promise. i can't leave my best friend while she's hurt"
she just chuckled, "okay get to class-oh wait!" she began unwrapping his blazer from her waist and held it out towards him, "here you go. thank you"
"no problem" he grabbed his blazer and put it back on, "i'll see you later" jake smiled before leaving the office and back to class
"that stupid smile" yuna muttered and leaned back in the chair, "makes me like you even more.."

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.

Someone Like Adam
"You know, it won't physically hurt you to be nice for once." I crossed my arms in front of my chest and groaned. "I don't want to take a chance." the corner of his lips lifted a little as he finished his sentence. "Well, you don't hear me complaining. The view of a someone so desperately working out is not a delight either." I retorted in a weary voice. "I bet it isn't." he narrowed his eyes at me and commented. Ugh.. Why is he so damn annoying? "You know what, just take your arrogant ass out of my room." I scowled at him, pointing towards the door. With small steps, he walked towards me. I took a step backwards when he neared me. He was invading my personal space, making me a bit flustered. The urge to push back his golden-brown hair covering his forehead was increasing with every passing second. "Gladly." he mumbled against my face and then walked past me out of my room. It took me a minute to calm down my racing heartbeat. ... He was a mystery, an enigma I wanted to solve. He was exhausting, he was infuriating, yet staying away from him was not an option. He was making me feel things I haven't felt before. Adam McArdle! Who are you and what are you doing to my poor little heart?...#1 in GENERAL FICTION (23-05-2019)#1 in CHICKLIT (21-07-2019)
