The morning light is absent like the morning dew

With my first breath my tired minds thinks only of you

In the darkness it's you that brightens my heart

Some muttered prayer of hope flows as my lips part

My hope is dashed like a keel against jagged rocks

I stifle, I redirect and I try to suppress
