At no point would I finish this stage

I'd sit and reread and often revise

I'd patiently plan the rest of our lives

I'd hastily scribble then slowly erase

Your name always remaining in place

The chapters before you merely a painful tax

Now with you I've reached the climax

I wonder what new pages will hold

Forbidden love or adventures untold

It's my favorite story, this one with you

You sound like fiction yet somehow ring true

No matter the ending you'll hold the role

Of being the someone that completed my soul
