《A Dance With Hades》Five.

I climb out of Cameron's car and start to advance towards the entrance of the building without him.

Lunch wasn't so bad.

He was talking about himself most of the time and I didn't mind listening but the more he talked about himself, the more I understood that we wouldn't work out.

We just sound so different and I don't want to get into something that's going to end in just a few months. I don't really have any interest in him and I hope my father understands this.

Hands down, Cameron is an extremely handsome man, but he just doesn't look nor sound like the man I'd spend the rest of my life with. He's so self centred and prideful. He also believes that money makes you a better person.

Money makes you look better, it doesn't make you a better person. It can even change you for the worst, make you greedy and evil, or in Cameron's case, cocky.

My father is definitely not going to like it when I tell him that I won't be seeing Cameron again, but he will have to get over it. If he wants the best for me then he will understand that I know that Cameron is not the best for me.

I thought you were only picky with your food.

What is that supposed to mean?

You are just as picky with men.

No, I'm not.

Yeah sure, sis.

"Why are you walking so fast?" Cameron calls out as he tries to catch up to me and luckily, thanks his long legs, he closes the large gap between us.

I slowly turn my head to look into his blue eyes that are truly beautiful before shaking my head and looking back down. "Sorry, it's just how I walk," I mutter, slightly annoyed by him.

I want him gone from my side and my sight. I really hope he finds someone that will like him for him. He is cocky but he seems like a nice guy too. He deserves to be happy with the right girl.

We walk into the building in utter silence. The few employees walking around greet both Cameron and I as we walk past them and I wave at them with a small smile.

The receptionist looks up from her computer but keeps typing away on it. The sound of her nails clicking against the keyboard echoes throught the space and I frown at the sound of it.

It's a very annoying sound and I know she doesn't actually type so loudly.

She gives me the same dirty look she gave me when I first left the building with Cameron following behind me not so long ago.

I smirk and shake my laugh as I fight to laugh at how pathetic she's being right now.

Her eyes snap to Cameron and she smiles a little. If she wants him then she can definitely have him. I scoff at my thoughts and she turns her gaze to me, glaring daggers into my forehead.

As I get closer to her desk she stops typing and keeps her glare on me. A glare that does not faze nor scare me. "You got a problem, Carol?" I spit, standingin front of her desk for a second.

Her eyes flick to Cameron and she smiles. "Of course not, Miss Manson," she says sweetly as she attempts to look good in front of Cameron.

His eyes run over her sitting frame and I roll my eyes.

At least wait until I'm gone before you check her out, you fucking moron.

He sticks a small portion of his tongue out of his mouth like a panting dog as his eyes pause on her cleavage. He stares at her boobs like they can just jump out at him, and to be honest, in that top, they might as well just spill out.

He quickly slips his tongue back into his mouth when she slightly leans forward in a needy and desperate attempt to give him a better angle of her boobs.

His eyes meet her plain blue eyes again and I scoff as I walk around the desk. "Your father is in a meeting," she says but I don't spare her a glance nor a response.

I hear the sound of her heels clicking behind me as she chases I begin to walk faster, but so does she. "I said, he's in a meeting," she says in that high pitched voice she unfortunately possesses.

She grabs my forearm and pulls it back. I stumble back a bit as my feet almost slip out from under me. I stare at her pink acrylic nails digging into my forearm then back at her. "I said he's in–"

"Let go of me before I pull the extensions from your hair," I grit through clenched teeth and she immediately releases me. "Go sit behind your fucking desk and leave me alone."

"But your father is in–"

"Don't care," I childishly mutter while sticking my hand in her face. She leans back as my hand almost touches her nose and I roll my eyes.

Cameron watches on with curious eyes as Carol folds her arms. "You are being a brat," she spits and all I do is roll my eyes while lowering my hand.

It's always the Carols and Karins getting on my damn nerves.

I turn back around and walk to the private elevator. "I said he is in a meeting!" She shouts.

I whip around and stomp back to her. I stick my finger up in her face and glare straight into her eyes. "I will snap your neck if you say that again," I threaten.

She swallows her fear and tries to look tough but the fear in her eyes is giving her away.

I walk back to the elevator and place my hand on the palm scanner and once the scanner glows green, the silver doors slide to the sides and I step inside.

Cameron steps inside after eyeing Carol for a second time. His arm rubs against my skin as he stands quite close to me.

The silver doors close and I close my eyes while taking deep breaths. I should've just smacked Carol upside the head and yanked the stupid acrylic nails from her fingers.

"Nyx?" I open my left eye and direct it up at Cameron. He gently smiles down at me and I keep a straight face.

He leans closer to my face and I quickly lean away from him, both my eyes snapping open. I shift to the other end of the small elevator and hold myself.

"Why are you running?" He asks in that cocky tone of his.

"I'm not running," I spit with a glare and he chuckles. He steps closer to me and I take another step to the side. My shoulder slightly scrapes against the metal wall and goosebumps peak on my skin.

He pushes against my other shoulder so my back presses against the cold wall. His one hand comes up to the side of my face and presses it against the wall while the other worms up to my waist.

"You are running," he whispers seductively and I roll my eyes. Is he really trying to seduce me in my father's elevator?

His arm bends as he leans forward and I keep a straight face. His lips threaten to touch mine and I quickly turn my head to the side. His filthy kiss lands on my cheek instead and my skin crawls out of discomfort.

"Seriously?" He grits while tightening his hold on my waist. "Just a simple kiss," he whispers, his grip loosening a bit.

I turn to face him with a wide grin and he also smiles. "Go make out with Carol, she might be up for it," I laugh in his face causing his smile to fall.

"You are being hard to work with. I–"

"You thought I'd be easy?" I laugh while shaking my head. "I suggest you get away from me before I kick you where the sun don't shine," I threaten.

"You wouldn't do that," he chuckles and I cock up a brow. "Just a simple kiss," he whispers as he leans in closer to my face.

The elevator dings and the silver doors slowly open. Cameron grabs my chin to keep me from dodging his kiss this time and my eyes widen.

"Move!" I scream while shoving against his chest, taking him by surprise. He steps away from me and I glare at him before stomping out of the elevator.

"Father! Came–" I suck in my words when I see my father literally trembling in his chair behind his desk.

My eyes find the eyes of the men causally sitting on the other side of the desk.

"Dad?" I worry as I step closer to his desk. I stand him behind his chair and place my hands on his shoulders.

He's lightly shaking under my touch while the other men don't even look fazed. "What is going on?" I ask while narrowing my eyes at the man sitting in the middle.

"Just a meeting cinnamon bun," my father says in a shaky tone. "These men want to use one of my storage facilities."

I look down at my father with a puzzled look. Those are his storage facilities, only he and his family use them." "But those aren't part of the company," I say and he nods.

"We know," the man on the left says. "But let's pause on that for a moment." His hazel eyes turn to Cameron and he grins. "What were you doing?" He asks Cameron who blankly stares at him.

After a short moment of silence, Cameron decides to answer his question, "I don't know what you are talking about."

The man on the right chuckles and shakes his head.

"Why was she screaming then?"

Both I and Cameron's eyes widen at this and the three men in front of me smirk wickedly.

"Why were you screaming bellezza nera?" Lorenzo asks while turning his gaze to me.
