Hysterical sobs broke free from Y/N's quivering lips as she frantically shook her head, her body shivering like a leaf. Silver eyes watched her dully, though, there was a pinch in the Boogeyman's chest that was uncomfortable to bear. She was so out of it that she didn't even notice the restraints had slipped away, releasing her from their steady hold. The monster's gaze drifts down to the table in thought, wondering whether or not he should continue to let her wallow in misery, when he got an idea. With the whirl of his finger, he manifests a sharp knife into his hand before standing up from his seat. The squeal of the chair's legs pushing against the floor was loud enough to wake Y/N from her thoughts, and she immediately pales at the sight of the weapon as the monster approaches her. With widened eyes, she practically launches herself out of her seat to put space between them.
"Eighteen," he says as she stumbles back and falls due to her impulsive jump. The creature stops and points the blade at her, causing the girl to scream and cover her face, expecting to be sliced to bits. Something slides across the floor, stopping right in front of her feet, so she hesitantly peeks and is surprised to find the knife sitting in front of her. Still shaking, she gazes up at the monster to find him still standing a few feet away. Her teary eyes filled with confusion as he spoke again.
"You are eighteen, and I came to you when you were nine, I believe." His hands lift to his shirt and start to unbutton it. After reaching the final one, he slips the shirt off his shoulders and drops it onto the floor without a care of where it'll land, leaving his torso bare. His figure is thin with a stomach that's slightly concave and semi-defined ribs, as though he had been starved. His body held little to no muscle, rather it was all scrawny and boney.
"That's nine years of torment that I put you through, nine years in which you resisted the temptation of offing yourself. You had weakened once, but by that point, I had already become attached. I craved more fun from you in the human world." The Boogeyman watched as her hands turned into trembling fists that were loosely formed. "Now's your time to enact your revenge."
"R- Revenge?" She couldn't comprehend what was happening here. Slowly, her eyes drift back to the knife and the pieces began to fit into place.
"I cannot die of course, especially not in this place, but I can feel pain," he claims in a low voice as he gets down on his knees, staring at her straight in the eye. "Go ahead. I'll allow no less than nine lacerations for the pain I've put you through." A smile stretched his lips as she looks to the knife again before slowly reaching for it. With both hands, she grips the handle, staring intently at the blade that reveals her reflection.

His dreams really spared no detail. Everything felt real, from the smooth wood of the handle to the small ridges of the blade. She was sure that if she dropped it, it would cut a huge gash in her leg that would burn at the wound like a real one would. Knowing this made her hands tremble even more. The monster shuts his eyes, a calm smile still in place on his lips as he waits.
"I won't fight back. Consider this proof that none of what I said was false. You know me well enough that I would not allow my prey to have the upper hand in any situation." Y/N stares at the man that had terrified her since she was a child as she cautiously gets to her feet. She sensed no trick, but her paranoia made her doubt. Still, her feet shuffle forward, her eyes darting around for any changes in the setting, but it was all the same.
Nothing was creeping in the shadows to sneak up from behind and gobble her up. Nothing was waiting to pounce. Her feet stop, and instinctively, she held her breath while staring down at his face. Uncertain, she raises the blade, still holding it with both hands. She could hear her heart pounding like a drum in her chest as her breathing grew heavy.
His expression didn't change at all; in fact he looked quite peaceful waiting for the blade to make contact with his skin. He did not know where she would strike first or when. He knew it would take a few minutes before she gained the courage to try, so he stays patient, regardless of the anticipation flowering in his chest. Tears flood her E/C eyes the longer they stare down at Pilvrich's face as she bites down hard on her lower lip. Suddenly, the knife slips out of her hands and clashes with the floor as she stumbles back and grips her head, grabbing fistfuls of her hair. His eyes snap open upon hearing the sound and watch as she collapses to the floor. Her knees raise to her chest and she hides in them, wiping the smile from his face.
"I... I'm n-n-n-not like y-you. I c-c-c-can't hurt anyone," she croaks while shaking her head and crying harder. She wished that she had the strength to do it. It might've made her feel better. It might've helped make up for a few of the wrong deeds he had done, but she would never know.
She isn't some murderer. She isn't a heartless monster like him. When she looked at his face — that human face, all she saw was her tutor, who had been so kind, who had comforted her and protected her. That remembrance of his betrayal once again broke her heart into millions of pieces that couldn't be glued back together. Why couldn't she just do it?

Why did she have to feel so kindly towards him? Why did it all have to end up a lie? Why does the world hate her so? It seemed that no matter what, she was meant to fall down this rabbit hole. Never could she trust another person for as long as she lived and, even in death, she could never.
"I see." Hesitantly, she peeks up at him as he smiles softly and stands up. "Sweet, little mouse. A part of me had a feeling you'd say something along those lines." The fingers at his side grow in length, gaining an extra joint as the nails thicken and extend into four-inch claws that more resembled the blade of the knife she had wielded. Before she even had time to react to the new addition, he scraped the sharp fingers diagonally across his chest in one, swift motion.
She gasps, her head shooting up from her knees as his teeth grit in pain, a deep growl rumbling in his throat as red blood trickles to the floor from the deep wounds. "But, as I said, this is my proof." Raising his hand again, he applies five more scratches to his body, overlapping those that were already there to cause a sharper surge of pain. This caused him to hiss through his teeth. The sight of her tutor in pain made her stomach flip and nearly caused her to forget the monster beneath.
"My flesh can heal quickly, but for the scars these'll leave." His left hand grows the exact same claws before they slash across his chest, making his knees weaken as he bites back a scream, growling louder instead. He wasn't used to pain. Usually, he was the one to inflict it on others, not on himself. It wasn't at all pleasant, yet he continued.
Y/N winces as he gives himself another five gashes, almost as though she could feel that pain on herself. "I'll leave them there as a reminder to you, that I will no longer hurt you the way that I have." A hand claps over her mouth as she forces herself to look away, feeling sick as she hears the sound of tearing flesh again. She wanted him to stop, even if he did deserve this pain. She couldn't stomach watching. For a moment, the monster paused, fully feeling the sting of his self-inflicted injuries. "Don't look away, little mouse. Deep down, you know this is what you want. Your first good dream given to you by me, your greatest enemy and fear tearing himself apart."
"S- Stop," she squeaks, barely audible to the demon's ears. His head tilts as he does it again, having no plans of stopping, since it is, indeed, what he deserved. Gritting her teeth, she brings her hand down from her mouth and jumps to her feet. "I said stop it!" Her feet moved before she could think, racing towards her tormentor and grabbing ahold of both his wrists to restrain him, more tears flooding down her cheeks as she froze.
The Boogeyman was shocked by her actions and, instantly, felt the desire to tease her, to say how deep down she must've truly cared, but he knew she only reacted out of fear. She just couldn't stomach the gore or the sounds of his body being torn up. The blood on his nails slid down his palms and onto her hands, causing her breathing to quicken and her face to pale. Her hands shook around his wrists as her gaze lowers, but she couldn't seem to make herself let go. She didn't know what to do next, her mind just went blank as he bends down to her ear.
"As you wish." His cold breath formed goosebumps on her skin as he slipped out of her grasp before stepping back. She remained still, arms raised and everything, as he turns around and walks away. "The dream is over." He snaps his fingers, and the next thing she knows, her eyes flash open to be blinded by sunlight.
She takes in a sharp breath and tightly grips the sheets beneath her. She remains there for a moment before slowly sitting up and looking around. He isn't there. She couldn't see or sense that beast. He had left her alone... for now, anyways.
She felt ill again, still able to picture that image of Pilvrich all bloody and cut up. It had disturbed her in a way she had not yet experienced. Any person in her shoes would've either let him continue or hurt him themself, and yet, she couldn't do either — Even to him, who she had wished would die since the moment he had first arrived into her life. Now, that thing has a whole new agenda. She didn't even want to think about what he might have in store for the future. She couldn't exactly imagine him preparing a romantic scene for the both of them. He even claimed that he wouldn't dare call what he felt love, but if his idea of pleasing her is to torture himself, she wasn't sure she could stomach that.
Figuring she won't get an answer until they meet again, Y/N slips out of bed to get ready for the day.
