The sea park in far northern Japan, was famous for their Domestic merpeople exhibit and rehabilitation. So they say anyways. After the discovery of merpeople were highly sought after and many were caught and bred into domestication. Somewhere kept as flashy and impressive pets for the rich, while most were kept in sea parks and aquariums.
------
"Welcome to the Deika city sea park Everyone.I am your host Uraraka and welcome to the 11:00 show Merfolk show," Uraraka announced to the crowd.
"Let me introduce you to my fellow aquatic trainer Momo, and Tsu,"
The crowd clapped in intitainpation for the show to start as the young kids and Teens ran down to the deep pool. In hopes to see the mermen up close.
"Now I know you all want to see the stars of the show, Meet our fiery tempered Merman Katsuki!" Momo signed.
A fiery red merman jumped out of the water, his scales shimmered in the sun.
"Next meet our calm and cool, Shouto!"
Shouto jumped up from the water as he dazzled in the sun. His red and White scales
"And last and certainly not least our sweet cinnamon roll, Izuku," Tsuyu announced.
The third merman jumped out of the water was the mer Izuku. Though most saw him as plain, his tail was a pretty ocean green, it was hard to see underwater.
The crowd went wild at the tricks and stunts that were shown. Ochaco, Momo, and Tsuyu were trainers at the part. They were here to take care of the creature and educate the masses.
"Does anyone know the difference between a domestic and wild Mermaid?" Momo asked the crowd.
"Domestic merfolk were bred in captivity and lost many of their wild instincts, and tend to be more friendly then their wild cousins," Momo explained.
"Wild merfolk are more agile and energetic than domestic, because they are fed and taken care of for their whole life. Also because of selective breeding they gave up a more powerful tail, for flashy elegant fins," Tsuyu added.
-----
Up in the vip Stand booth sat the owner of the sea park and a close business partner. The two watched as the merman and their trainers entertained the crowd, with tricks, stunts, and Interacting with the crowd.
"So those 3 are you most popular attraction huh, Futashi,"
"Indeed, though Katsuki is a bit temperamental and hard to train. Though Izuku is pretty cooperative," Futashi said.
"Put the most plain looking out of the three though,"
"Yeah, that is a bit of a down side, Kai," Futashi agreed.
"You know we recently caught a beautiful wild mermaid. Maybe we can breed her with one of your mermen," Kai suggested.
"Wouldn't that be illegal breeding, and how do I know this mermaid is as beautiful as you say?" Futashi questioned.
"Why would I lie to you? If we could breed one of your mermen we can have some very profitable offspring," Kai reasoned.
"Hmm, bring her tonight and we'll try to get everything ready,'' Futashi whispered.
--------
The water tasted funny, it wasn't like homes. As I opened my eyes all I could see was grey and glass. I was held in a small compartment, the sides that lead to the bigger opening as bared off. As I sat I thought long and hard on what I last remember. When it all came back to me.
My pod was migrating to the island of Esperia, a place where all mythical creatures were safe. Somehow we were intercepted by the humans, and suddenly there was a giant flash of light.

Suddenly there was a loud slam, pulling me from my thoughts as the bars started to lower, leaving an opening for me. Swimming through the opening quickly only to find a bigger cage. All around as gray and glass, but there were a few tall rocks that poked above the water. I could see anything beyond the pitch black of night through the glass. Just above the surface I could see figures staring down at me, so I quickly wedged myself into a small cave in the makeshift rocks and hid.
------
"Ochako, Tsuyu, Momo you have a new mer to train today," Mr.Futashi said simply.
"Really, What's his name?" Momo asked excitedly.
"Her, her name is Y/n," Mr.Futashi said simply while working on other paperwork.
"We'll do our best sir," Tsuyu said.
The three left the office excited to see the new mermaid, as they made their way to the side pool. But it was empty.
"Umm, Hey Jirou, where is the new mermaid?" Ochako asked.
"Oh um, I think Denki let her into the main pool last night, she might still be hiding," Jirou said, cleaning up the last bit of pool supplies.
"We can try to lure her out by letting in the others," Tsuyu suggested.
With a nod they unlatched the gate and the 3 mermen quickly swam out to the main pool. They quickly picked up that there was something off and went on alert for the intruder. Y/n too picked up on the new creatures, as she slowly poked her out of her small cave. Izuku was the first to notice as he slowly crept closer to the new stranger, but because of his larger frame and muscles the cave was too small for him. But then the other two grew curious as they tried to push the other out of the way to get a look at the stranger.
"Looks like She's under the rocks, and I think the boys are scaring her more than encouraging her to come out," Ochako said with a sigh.
"Well let's give them breakfast," Tsuyu said simply.
Momo quickly grabbed a prepared pail of fish and rang the food bell. Just like that Katsuki and Shouto lost interest and went to the surface for food, but Izuku lingered. He was too enchanted by the E/c staring back at him. This was the first time in his life to meet a female of his species, but he soon left to get breakfast.
Y/n slowly peared out of her hidey hole to see the 3 males happily being fed food. She felt her stomach growl in hunger as she watched them happily eat as fish was tossed to them. Yet her pride wouldn't let her stup to that level and beg humans for food. So she sat there in her cave, when suddenly the light was blocked out by a green haired merman.
Y/n stared at him with suspicious eyes as the boy started to push a small pile of fish into the cave. She looked up at the merman too see he had a small bashful smile on his face. So she let up and happily took the boy's offer, filling her stomach.
Suddenly there was another ring and all the mermen quickly swam to the surface. Y/n, curious slowly left her cave and scaled the side of the rock to rest upon above the surface. She watched as the mermen performed tricks and stunts at the beck and call from the humans. She was at awe of the stunts, but felt a pinch of anger at the thought of rolling over and playing dog for humans.

As Y/n watched Ochako and Momo quickly noticed the new mermaid. Momo examined her tails and fins, and noticed that the fins are very Streamlined. She quickly put together that this mermaid is wild and isn't a domestic. And It is illegal to have a wild caught mixed with domestic, she should be in rehab to be treated and or released back into the wild.
----------
Weeks went by and the higher ups did nothing to fix the error, and let the 4 stay together. Bakugou didn't really care about Y/n and minded his own business. Shouto was pretty much the same, though you could seem the two interact sometimes. While Izuku was practically attached to the hip with Y/n, whether if she wanted him to be or not. Even when she would retreat to her cave, he would wait just outside for her.
Y/n soon grew to love Izuku yet she still longed for her freedom. Izuku of course noticed and tried his hardest to help Y/n adjust to her new home. But she refused to listen to the trainers , and tends to steal the food from them as well. The tension between the humans and her was becomeing more tense by the day.
"Y/n are you okay?" Izuku asked from the cave opening.
"I'm fine, why do you ask?" Y/n asked over the sound of banging metal.
"umm well you seemed to be getting more in trouble with the humans?" Izuku asked slowly.
"And?" Y/n asked.
"Well, They would give you all the food you want as long as you do the stunts we practice. So you don't have to like fight against them you know," Izuku tried to reason.
"I- I can't. Then it would fell like I'm playing dog for the humans. I am not a pet," Y/n said as she poked her head out from the cave.
"Your not, the humans are here to take care of us," Izuku said as he scooted closer to her.
"By making us work for food," Y/n sighed. "Izuku, I'm happy that you can thrive in these conditions, but,"
"What's wrong here?" Izuku asked trying his hardest to understand.
"These condition.. Just reminds me what was stripped from me," Y/n said sadly.
"What was taken from you?"
"I could got as far as i wanted, the ocean was open to me. If I was hungry I go out and get it myself. I was free to do what ever I wanted," Y/n said dreamly.
"That sounds scary, what if a predator attacked you or What if you can't catch your food and starve?" Izuku asked in a worried tone.
"Well there are pro's and con's to everything, but to me the pro's to the outside out way the con's," Y/n said as she retreated back into her cave.
"Y/n wait," Izuku called as he peaked into the cave.
Suddenly there was a loud whine of metal. Izuku panicked as he reached in to feel around for Y/n, but couldn't find her.
"Y/n!" Izuku called, as he looked into the cave.
But she was gone. Time seemed to slow down as he stared at the empty cave. Soon Shouto and Bakugou came to investigate what was wrong.
"What's wrong Izuku?" Shouto asked simply.
"Y/n is gone," Izuku said shakly.
"Who?" Bakugou asked.
"The one who acted up against the humans," Shouto said simply.
"Well hope she found what she was looking for," Was all Bakugou said as he swam off.
-------
It was about a week later and Izuku laid near the entrance of the cave, waiting for Y/n to maybe come back. Izuku never moved from his spot, the world he once loved became dull and grey. His sun disappeared as he started to ignore the calls of his humans.
"Where did Y/n go and what is wrong with one of our animals?" Futashi demanded over the phone.
"We don't know where the wild caught went, and It appears that Izuku has fallen into a depression with her absence," Momo explained over the phone.
Ochako and tsuyu stared down into the pool as they worried about Izuku. Shouto tried to cheer up his friend the best he could, while Bakugou told him to just stop being sad. Izuku slowly started to loose some of his muscles from lack of food and less movement.
Shouto slowly approached Izuku in hopes to make him feel better, While Katsuki just watched from a distance.
"You know if you miss her so much, then just follow her," Katsuki sneered.
"We already know where she got out," shouto said as he wedged his way into the cave.
And like y/n, he disappeared into the cave . Katsuki soon followed after words, with Izuku slowly following after the two. As Izuku slowly made his way through the cramped cave, he Kastuki wiggle down a manhole at the very back of the cave. The bars were chipped away and even ripped appart.
Looking down into the hole, he could tell i went down far. Three swam through the dark pipes and soon found themselves in a place they never seen before. The water tasted saltier and the opening seemed to go on forever, and tall kelp seemed to be in abounence. It almost looked like forest of kind.
Izuku being curious weaved through the kelp seeing all sorts of beautiful fish and creatures. Bakugou and shouto just Quietly followed Izuku, unsure of how to feel about this foreign place. Izuku stopped as he heard humming in the distance, he quietly followed the sound to see.. Y/n relaxing in the sunlight on the sea floor.
"Y/N!!" Izuku called out as he swam to her.
"Izuku? W-what are you doing here? What are you all doing here? " Y/n asked, beyond confused.
"Deku missed to so much he was going to let himself wither away," Katsuki sneered.
"I was curious on what the outside was like," Shouto said simply.
Y/n stared at Izuku conflicted, She stuck around cause she wanted to say goodbye to Izuku one last time. Yet she couldn't bring her self to do so, but she didn't want to drag Izuku into the wild. Since he and his friends wouldn't know how to survive the wilderness.
"So where is this place you wanted to go to?" Izuku asked excitedly
"Espira, but that's 2,471 miles away," Y/n answered.
The others stared in shock at the great distance.
"Well You don't have to come, But it was fun meeting you all. Especially you Izuku," Y/n said as she kissed him on the cheek.
"I don't want to be separate from you any more, and I'm happy that you stayed around. Cause Maybe we stay here, it's out in the wild and close enough to the shallows for my comfort," Izuku suggested.
"Alright, but If the humans start to snoop around here, I'm traveling across the ocean," Y/n sighed.
Izuku smiled as he pulled y/n close.

A Virtual Invasion
An invasion from another dimension is shut down by an Empire's traitor and the world has a scant few decades to build the strength to resist a multidimensional Empire. How will the world fair when no one even knows its doom is one barred gate away? Fortunately, the traitor has a plan. Maybe with a bit of luck and planning, he can build a force to defend the world without anyone realizing it. Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.

It Sucks Being a Side Character
Beat the bad guy, save the day, get the girl. These are the three steps of success every good Hero strives for. But for Lee, those three things are an impossible bucket list. For a side character, there's no beating the bad guy, there's no saving the day, and there's definitely no getting the girl!As a side character in a typical Shonen story, all that awaits Lee is loss, cliches, filler arcs, and a whole lot of cheering the protagonist along from the sidelines. Can Lee change his destiny in a group full of walking tropes? Or will he be stuck watching from the sidelines? Only one thing is for sure, it sucks being a side character!
