This is an Alternate Ending where Hayes Kennedy does not die.

"Don't worry. She's got help." I say.
In the final fight for the Iron Gauntlet with the Infinity Stones, Captain Marvel blasts at Thanos. Thanos pulls the Power Stone out of the Gauntlet and uses it in his free hand to hit Captain Marvel away. I start to shot at Thanos as he puts the Power stone back in the gauntlet. Thanos puts the stone back in the gauntlet as more Avengers come over to help. Stark looks and questions Strange, who simply raise one finger, reminding him that the one win over Thanos he foresaw is now at risk. Stark nods and attacks Thanos, pulling on the Gauntlet before Thanos punches him away. We all stand there and look at him as he puts the Gauntlet on.
"I am... inevitable," Thanos says
Thanos snaps his fingers, but nothing happens except a metallic "clink." He sees the Infinity Stones are missing. Tony has the stones on his own gauntlet, to Thanos' shock.
"And I...am...... Iron Man."
Tony snaps his fingers with a loud "CLANG" and a blinding flash of white. Rocket fires at a Leviathan and before it devours him, it crumbles into ash. The Black Order starts crumbling to ash. T'Challa and Quill look around in surprise; Steve looks on in exhaustion, knowing that they won. Thanos, in horror, looks around and sees his entire army disintegrate. He looks at Steve, who just stares at him. Thanos sits down and mourns before slowly being erased from existence himself.
"Mr. Stark?" Peter says. "Hey... Mr. Stark? Can you hear me? It's Peter. We won. Mr. Stark... We won, Mr. Stark. We won and you did it, sir. You did it. I'm sorry... Tony..." Peter cried.
"Hey. - Hey, Pep..." Tony says as she kneels toward and pushes the kid away.
"Friday?" She says
"Life functions critical." She replies.
"Tony. Look at me. We're gonna be okay. You can rest now." Pepper says to Tony. Soon after she finishes her sentence, Tony draws his last breath.
I lean into Steve as I let out sobs. We then start to aka our way back to the destroyed Compound to all be together after this triumph.
Later on, we all had to Tony's cabin for a funeral. I walk into the house and see that Morgan and Pepper are watching a hologram of Tony Stark.
"Everybody wants a happy ending, right? But it doesn't always roll that way. Maybe this time. I'm hoping if you play this back, it's in celebration. I hope families are reunited, I hope we get it back, and something like a normal version of the planet has been restored. If there ever was such a thing. God, what a world. Universe, now. If you told me ten years ago that we weren't alone, let alone, you know, to this extent, I mean, I wouldn't have been surprised. But come on, you know? That epic forces of darkness and light have come into play. And, for better or worse, that's the reality Morgan's gonna have to find a way to grow up in. So I found the time and I recorded a little greeting... In the case of an untimely death. On my part. Not that, death at any time isn't untimely. This time travel thing that we're gonna try and pull off tomorrow, it's, it's got me scratching my head about this.
But then again, that's the hero gig. Part of the journey is the end. Everything's gonna work out exactly the way it's supposed to. I love you 3,000." Tony says as the Hologram then shuts off.

We watch as they send off Tony's "heart" on a floating device across the lake. I stand next to Steve as he stands behind Happy, Morgan, and Pepper. There was no dry eye in the place. After a while of standing there, Steve and I decide to leave. He heads back to the house we shared with Sam before this all happened. We just all wanted to be together. Bucky came with us, which was my idea.
When we got to the house after a long drive back to Washington D.C., I showed Bucky the guest room. Once that was done, I walked around the house and found Sam in the kitchen.
"I can tell you guys weren't living here," Sam said to me.
"Ya, Steve and I have an apartment in Brooklyn. I hired someone to come clean this place once a month." I said as I looked down at the thin layer of dust.
" I'm glad you guys didn't stay here and got your own place to live your lives."
I let out a laugh.
"Clearly we didn't live our lives since you're standing here," I said punching his shoulder.
"Well then I'm glad you didn't," Sam said.
Steve walked into the kitchen and stood next to me.
"Bruce called and said that we should put the stones back in the past tomorrow."
I nodded and leaned against Steve as Bucky then joined us in the kitchen.
"How about a drink. I could you a drink and a year of sleep after these events the last couple of days." I say as I walk over to our liquor cabinet.
"There isn't a lot left from me drinking it when I lost you guys, but there's enough for us humans to get drunk," I said pulling out a bottle of wine and tequila.
"Nice combo.' Sam said laughing.
"Is anyone going to comment on how she just called Steve and me none humans?' Bucky joked.
"Aww, I hurt Bucky Barnes's feelings," I said poking fun at him.
Steve let out a laugh as he turned and got glasses for everyone to put their drinks in.
"To a good life." I cheered once everyone got their drinks. We all cheered and took a sip. Steve pulled me into a sideways hug. I looked around the room as Steve, Bucky and Sam joked around with each other. This is what I missed the most.
After we cheer, we all just stand there in silence. I got back over and fill my glass with more wine.
"Easy there." Steve laughs.
"What? I haven't had a good drink in 5 years. I'm celebrating." I say raising my glass.
"Well, I'm in!" Sam says as he comes over and opens the fridge door.
"I know I have been in the fridge somewhere," Sam said as he searched through the fridge.
"Oh, my bad. I drank that." I say tasing my hands in defense.
"What! You hate beer!" Sam says to me.
"Depressing time call for drinking everything thing in sight," I say leaning forward and resting my forearms on the kitchen island. I let out a sigh as my emotions start to catch up with me.
"I lost you, Sam. I clearly didn't handle it well the first couple of years." I say sniffling.
It goes quiet as we all just stand there.
"I'm sorry. I'm a buzz kill." I say, standing back up straight.
"No, no. it's ok really. It was a hard 5 years for, I bet, the both of you and now we are just back acting as nothing happened." Bucky says. He pulls me into a hug.

"I never really liked you since you put Steve through so much pain, but you're growing on me." I joke to Bucky. He laughs and hugs me tighter.
"Group hug!" Sam calls out. Bucky groans as Sam joins the hug.
"Come on Steve, join in," I call over to me. He shakes his head.
"You guys look content with just the three of you."
"Oh come on. Metal arm over here and hugging it out with us."
He rolls his eyes and strolls over to join the group hug.
"Yay!" Sam and I say as we all hug each other.
After a while, I let out a laugh.
"Ok, this is getting awkward," I say as they all nod in agreement and pull away from the hug.
"I know you super soldiers can't get drunk, but Sammy and I are going too," I say patting Sam on the back.
"Hey we may not be able to get drunk, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to drink," Bucky says, grabbing a glass. He fills it with the tequila and takes a sip and makes a face as he swallows.
"I do wish that also as a side effect, the taste of alcohol wouldn't affect us., cause this is strong and gross," Bucky says. We all laugh as we continue to sip our drinks.
After many drinks later, Sam was being carried to his room by Bucky. I was definitely tipsy, but not completely drunk. Bucky then came back into the kitchen without Sam.
"I put the bird to bed. I'm gonna go to bed too." Bucky said.
"Ok goodnight you too. Don't stay up too late. We got a long drive back to New York to return those stones tomorrow." He said turning around to head to his room.
"Ok, dad," I call out. With his back still turned to me, he raises his hand and flips me off.
"Hey, did you see what he just did to me!?" I call out to Steve as he starts laughing.
"Well, you deserved it." Steve laughs out loud.
I hit him in the arm and cross my arms over my chest.
"So tomorrow's gonna end everything. We bring the stones back and it's all over." I say, breaking the silence that falls on us.
"Ya. It feels unreal." Steve says looking over at me. I walk over to him and hug him. He wraps my arms around my waist and places his head on top of mine.
"Let's head to bed," Steve says. We pull away from the hug and head off to bed to get ready for tomorrow.
***
The next day Bruce, Steve, Sam, Bucky and I were in the woods out behind the crumbled Avengers Compound.
"Remember... You have to return the stones at the exact moment you got them. Or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities." Bruce says.
"Don't worry, Bruce. Clip all the branches." Steve says back.
"You know, I tried. When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back. [Looks at Steve] I miss them, man." Bruce says.
"Me, too," Steve says back.
"You know, if you want, I can come with you," Sam says.
"You're a good man, Sam. This one's on me, though." Steve says.
Steve goes over to Bucky.
"Don't do anything stupid 'till I get back," Steve says to him.
"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Bucky says back.
They both hug each other.
Steve then comes over to me.
"Watch these two while I'm gone," Steve says to me. He leans down and kisses me passionately for a while.
"I love you," I say when we finally pull away from the kiss.
"I love you too," Steve says back to me.
Steve goes over to the Quantum portal and dons the Quantum suit.
"How long is this gonna take?" Sam asks.
"For him? As long as he needs, For us, five seconds." Bruce said.
Steve picks up Mjolnir.
"Ready, Cap? Alright. We'll meet you back here, okay?" Bruce asks.
"You bet." Steve answers.
"Going quantum. Three.. two... one..." Bruce calls out.
Steve disappears into the Quantum portal.
"And returning in, five, four, three, two, one..."
Steve appears on the pad as Bruce cheers.
Steve steps down from the platform and walks over to us.
"It's all done," Steve says to us. He pulls me into a sideways hug as he faces Sam and Bucky.
"Can I talk to you guys?" Steve finally says to Bucky and Sam. I look up at his confused.
"Ya, what's up to Cap," Sam asks.
"It's been too many years to count that I have been fighting other people's wars and my own to protect the people that matter to me and the people of the world. I promised Hayes that when this is all over, I would give that life thing a try. Which reminds me..." Steve brings out his shield. "Try it on," Steve says to Sam.
Sam looks over to Bucky, who nods, and Sam holds Steve's shield.
"How's it feel?" I ask Sam as I lean in closer to Steve's sideways hug.
"Like it's someone else's," Sam answers, looking at Steve.
"It isn't," Steve says back.
Sam trying to hold back tears.
"Thank you. I'll do my best." He says back.
"That's why it's yours." Steve shakes Sam's hand.
We all turn and walk towards the cars to head home.
"So I'm guessing I'm stuck with Buck at home?" Sam asked us.
"We got our own place waiting for us," I say smiling up at Steve.
"Don't kill each other please," Steve begs them.
"Can't promise anything," Bucky said back.
We all laugh as we get in our cars and part ways.

5 years later:
Steve and I now had two children. A boy named Kent, who is 12 weeks
and a daughter named Lily-Rose, who is four years old.
We ended up buying a house in Washington D.C. to be close to Bucky and Sam, as both Steve and I wanted these men in our lives.
We lost them for 5 years, but it felt like an eternity.
They would constantly visit, which was good for both Steve and me since we always made them help around the house. This life was what I always wanted and I got to live it with the man I love, Steve Rogers.
We all kept in connection with the other Avengers and would constantly have little get-togethers more than twice a month. It was great watching Morgan grow up and seeing everyone live their lives with the people they lost. I never see Steve as happy as when he is with me and the other Avengers. I couldn't be happier with how things turned out and we figured out a way to bring our lives back from dust. It's hard not to think about Tony and Nat once in a while, but Steve makes me write down a list of all the positives and changes that came about because of those two's sacrifices. In the end, the positives weigh out the negatives.

You'll see a few similarities here between this story and some existing stories, at least initially. There's a lot of inspiration drawn from both MoL and Re:Zero, though in terms of pathos and darkness, this story leans more towards the latter. Be warned, it is something of a slow burn. The main character will grow and become powerful, but a theme of this story is that power comes slowly and often at great cost. The 8th Day
One day life is good. The next day it isn't! The boundaries between... well, whatever they're between.. have shattered! Monsters burst out from cracks in the universe, and reality suddenly begins to function similar to a game -- but not a game that anyone knows all the rules about! Magic is suddenly real, but so are monsters and death! Lots of death! And the worst part of it all? I think we did it to ourselves! We invented video games, and personally I think that great Finger-in-the-Sky picked up a console somewhere and started playing them. Since He liked what he saw, he must've declared, """"On the 8th Day, let there be Game!"But what do I know about it all, really. After all, I'm just """"The Witness"""" forced to observe it all.__________________________________________________________________________Author's Note: There's a lot of tales where characters get stuck in a Virtual Reality. """"Sword Art Online"""", """"Log Horizon"""", """"The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor"""". This is a story told with the premise inverted -- instead of a person from reality going into a virtual world, what would happen if the virtual world instead came to reality?I want this tale to speak about the aspects of the game, as it has affected the current reality, but the focus of the story should never be on the """"reality-turned-game"""" itself, but on the characters and their oh-so-human struggles, personalities, and attempt to adjust and live within the bounds of their new existence. Hopefully this won't just be a story of """"reality turned into a game"""", but instead will be something more meaningful such as a story of the strengths, perseverance, and humanity of man-kind as they try to adapt and face the unknown.*** And, most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. ***WARNING: RATED MATURE M[18+] FOR GORE, SEX, VIOLENCE. The apocalypse isn't a pretty place to try to survive in, and neither is every scene in a story trying to describe it.
