《Freshman》Mackenzie- The Last Day

Ugh, finally. This year has been exhausting. Its definitely been one of the best years yet, but I can't say I'm not glad it's over.

Today was my last day of Freshman year. Bring on summer. But first, I'll tell you about today. It was... Wow. Just wow. WOW.

The entire school was outside on the football field for some assembly. I was sitting separately with the band. We were all in those terrible, embarrassing uniforms. The sky was dark, we were almost going to cancel. Even though it's June, it's still rainy in Massachusetts.

We had just performed when I felt a few raindrops. I had to per really bad, even though I knew we'd be going in soon. My band director let me go into the school. The closest bathroom I knew about was near the cafeteria, so I went there. I took my time, and made sure the weather didn't mess up my hair.

When I had gotten back outside, it was pouring. As I ran over to the field, I came to realize it was empty. My heart literally sank. The worst case scenarios came to mind. What if they all went home and bidding know? What if they all DIED? I was freaking out, looking around hopelessly. I was soaked, still in my marching band uniform. My hair made me look like I had just gotten out of the shower.

I saw someone on the top of the bleachers. I sprinted over to them as fast as I could. Sure enough, it was Alex.

"ALEX!" I shouted. "Where is everybody?" I think I scared him a little.

"They all went inside. It was the most hectic thing I've even seen," he chuckled.

"Oh. Wait, why are you still out here?"

"I had gone inside with everybody, but then I realized I forgot my bag out here.. So yeah." I could tell he wanted to go inside, and I was holding him up.

"Oh, well it's mad cold out here. Lets go inside so we don't get hypothermia or something," I joked. Just smiled at me and nodded. We walked down the bleachers, being careful so we wouldn't slip.

As we approached the entrance, he stopped. I had a confused look on my face. I was soaked, and it was still raining. I just wanted to go inside!

Alex was walking slowly towards me. I didn't think much of it; I had no time to. Before I knew it, my lips were pressed against his.

I'm not sure what just happened. Well I obviously know, but I'm not sure what to think of it. Was Alex really just my first kiss?
