I’m out! Yay!
The nurses let me leave the day before New Year’s Eve. I had never been happier.
Anyway, yesterday was my first day back at school. Actually, it was everyone’s first day back after vacation. I got a few hugs, but not many. I guess people are still mad.
I heard some kids say “Oh, he’s back,” or things like that. But no one really asked me how it was or anything. And I’m pretty sure they all know where I was. It was probably a rumor that started, which was actually true.
My teachers welcomed me back with stacks of missed work. I wonder if they knew where I was. I had a lot of catching up to do.
I bet a lot of things happened while I was gone. Was Savannah still mad at me?
Speaking of her, my black eye is gone. I guess a over a month at the mental hospital fades your bruises. But not your pain.
They thought it would help me, but they were wrong. I still slit my wrists. And my legs. Its just easier to hide in the winter. Pants and a long sleeved shirt, and nobody knows. Perfect.
At school, we were learning things I’ve never even seen. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing, accept me. The teachers didn’t even bother to explain it to me. They said it was my fault I was gone, and my responsibility to learn it on my own.
I think they’re forgetting what their job is. Teacher. To teach.
Hadley teachers suck. Honestly. They’re the worst.
My mom was happy to see me, but my dad seemed disappointed. Actually, all he said was ‘welcome back’, and I haven’t seen him since. He probably went to the hotel down a few streets down. Sometimes he buys nights “just in case”, and sometimes the hotel manager calls our house to see if he’s coming by. That’s how many times he’s gotten mad at me.

Instead of beating me or screaming at me like some parents, he just walked right out the door. I think one day he’ll walk right out, but not back in.
My mom hides her emotions with a smile, but I can see she’s worried about my dad. They argue a lot.

Beings who can polymorph the world around them to fit their needs - and their desires. Both Transmutators died at the end of the war, but power... power never truly dies. Through centuries, the Transmutators' legacy survived, living in hiding as to not wreak havoc on the world again. A young Transmutator, the now only member of the family line, thinks he has what is needed to become a hero and break the stereotype people have of the Transmutators. But, if he is to overcome the challenges the hateful world of Gartaena has to offer, he will have to fully master the Transmutation, or die trying. Fiction completed

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
